Extended Writing Update

I'm happy to say I'm slowly catching up after last month's bumps and bruises. Flashpoint is almost done, and I expect to launch the final update either tomorrow or Tuesday. Getting it there was enough work on its own for this week, but I also managed to deep clean my work area and get things set up a lot more comfortably. That's important for my process at this stage, because I'm hopping into formatting the game's art next. I've got the templates of my original design (thanks to the lovely Harihta Isimat) and now I've got to drag myself to my computer and figure out how to resize, and how to add the text to the images that need it, and... ugh.

Have I mentioned I'm not artistically-inclined?

I hate this so much 😂 😭

But, it's gotta be done. And it's one of those cases where it's true that the sooner it's done the happier I'll be. If the game sells well enough I think I'm going to look into trying to find a way to hire an artist for game 2's art - that'd be a dream come true. But in the meantime, I'll pull up my bootstraps and figure out the big scary art world!

I'm pretty well caught up on the other assets I need to provide for the game. I've got first drafts of all the text descriptions of different lengths, I've put together the requested choices between descriptions so the company can choose the ones they think will work best, and I've chosen the in-game screenshots to use for the game's page in the app (and on Steam, if I'm lucky enough to get a release there).

I do expect some back and forth to get the assets just right, since it's my first time doing this. But so far, so good!

I'm hoping to start the RO bonus stories this week. I've got some ideas for each of them already, and I'm interested to see how well they'll translate to the page.

Here's this week's preview (Flashpoint, since that's what I worked on this week)

I chucked a book at the cross on the wall, trying to make it fall on the vamp's head - but too late, I realized I'd miscalculated. The cross fell harmlessly to the ground, and all it did was pull the monster's attention to me. It came at me fast and pulled me closer.
