The evolution of the breakup options has been interesting to me.
Added 2024-07-27 22:17:42 +0000 UTCI've been cutting a bunch out in this round of edits - much to my dismay, since I really liked writing them. But I'm reminding myself this is a romance game so being pelted with "would you like to break up" at every critical juncture is overkill 😂
I think I just like the idea of having that freedom to choose each step of the way, plus the characters breaking up in different contexts is really interesting for me to explore as a writer.
I can tell there's going to be an uneven amount of chances in each book to break up depending on the RO, too. If you're still on Keo's route at the end of book 1, I don't think there'll be any jumping off the wagon going forward. Whereas Rin is guaranteed to have a book 2 option to break up in a big way. And Wren's route will get messy enough in book 3 that there might be a chance to call it quits then - I haven't decided yet since that's so far away 😅
