Added 2018-09-20 16:06:54 +0000 UTCOk, so this is supposed to be a sad moment here, but I couldn't help undercut the sadness with just a little bit of silliness to lighten the mood. The dramatic black and white lighting during the bit of bad news really helps sell the drama I think...
I chose to keep the 4th panel large, with plenty of empty space around Sharlene. I discussed this in a previous stream, but when used at the right time a large panel dedicated solely to one moment like this can really give the character's emotion more impact. No sound effects, speech bubbles, or additional characters. Just Sharlene crying.
My wife suggested the light rain effect in the background. (she always gives me such great suggestions hahaha), and I think it adds to her feeling of devastation while also overplaying the moment just enough to push it into humorous territory (if you choose to see it that way).
While this is a simple page with a simple singular goal in mind, I had a lot of fun creating it.

The coach is disappointed in Sharlene's ability to pull off the sexy routine she had been planning. The use of the word "sluttiest" here is in reference to her sexually charged performance, but I suppose you can read it the other way too (even though that wasn't my primary intention).
