A Humble Apology
Added 2018-07-17 23:52:03 +0000 UTCBefore we move into the new Patreon page I just wanted to take a moment to offer an apology to anyone who has ever been disappointed in me or the way I’ve handled my Patreon page. You have all been extremely gracious to me, but I also know I have been slow to upload reward files in the past and I have some regrets over how I’ve handled the sketch request reward.
The sketch request tier was at first a randomized raffle, and then later turned into a pool where requests were selected by me. In either situation the reward itself was only either a raffle ticket, or participation in the pool. I honestly regret how this was set up because looking back on it I feel like there is little value in a raffle unless you are chosen, and a reward should never make anyone feel disappointed. I know that’s how raffles work and I know you know that, I just don’t feel good about offering a raffle or a pool, or whatever in hindsight. I want you all to know that I don’t take your support for granted. You have given me so much and I can’t understate how much I appreciate that and what it means to me.
I want the new Patreon page to mark a new beginning for me, so I’ll be operating it differently once it begins. I intend to spend more time on Patreon, updating more frequently and supplying more content. I’ll also be restructuring the reward tiers so they have better value at higher tiers. The end goal for me is always to deliver quality artwork for my patrons (and that is exactly what your support enables me to do), but I also want everyone to feel like they are getting something unique in return for that support. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the support you’ve given me so far. Some of you have been with me from the very beginning and that kind of makes me tear up just thinking about it. I’m extremely excited about the upcoming changes and my new direction, and I hope you are too.

Thanks for the advice. The new page will be set up as a single per-monthly charge page. I intend to produce enough content to make your pledge worth while, but I also still plan on focusing on high quality content. Per-update has served me well up until this point, but I want to release comic pages on a more regular basis, and monthly will help me do that without over charging everyone.

First off I'm sorry I'm not one of the ones who has been with you from the beginning, because I just recently found your works but I am integrated by what you propose going forward. As to the tier level rewards and sketch rewards, I wouldn't worry about it much. There are plenty of other artists who charge a lot more for producing a lot less. Besides if you are only charging for what you post, when you post it then no one has anything to complain about, some artists only post once or twice a month some every other month, because after all its up to the artist as to what he/she can produce and how fast, not the patrons, we're here to enjoy what the artist produces when it's available not to demand when it should be available. That's one reason why I think a per offering is the best option because you are truly getting what your paying for as opposed to a per month fee and being held to what ever the artist decides to produce for that month be it a whole comic or just one or two drawings. As to the reward to content to pay ratio the more the better is always a good philosophy for new and repeat patrons. As to the input per tier/reward, I have found, and several artists I follow use it, is to take general requests/suggestions for the month of what to draw ( with parameters of course ) with the artist making the final selection per drawing, be it 1,2 3,4 drawings per month, or taking the suggestions and creating a poll for the patrons to vote for their favorite/s per drawing offering, be it weekly, bi-weekly or monthly that way everyone has a say and doesn't feel left out. You will also find that regardless of the number of patrons you have only a handful will participate on a regular basis, but it will be open to all patrons. I think a good example of this would be to check out Karmagikart.com and his Patreon page. Just a few thoughts for your consideration. Good luck. Looking forward to seeing the new direction.

2018-07-18 02:04:58 +0000 UTCJust thought of another idea may be more doable. Could make a poll for all your supporters. Make it a poll where they can add in additional options to select. Get a feel for Genres and Kinks your fans want. So that even if you can't cater to everyone on an individual basis. You can cater to a degree on a Per Genre or per Kink one.

2018-07-18 00:38:20 +0000 UTCWell if I may make a suggestion how you could improve the concept. Instead of a Raffle or something semi or fully random. How about a rotation system of some sort rather by deviding up members into groups somehow by niche intrests or something. And have the group decide an idea with your input of course when it's their turn. Only problem with that is it's great if you have a small number of patrons. But with 533.. I'm not so sure it'd be a good one. I suppose another way to do it is a sort of bad luck protection system. Like say everyone who got something the last 3 months will not be counted for the next three. In short it'd increase the odds of getting picked the more you go without getting picked.
