The background will likely be simple. Illustration is about balancing elements. If a piece has the space for, and can benefit from additional mood, a detailed background can help tie the image together. On the flip side, if your focus is intended to be on the characters and their actions, sometimes a detailed background can detract, when it would be better served with something more complimentary. Trying to adapt to the needs of the piece is the approach I tend to take with every illustration.
