The defeat module

NPC's will take several days to contact the authorities about the parasites. It's a matter of trying to reach the right people - people who care and who will believe such a tale. During this time, it will be possible to infest the NPC that's trying to rat you out.

You'll be able to directly infest them, although their resistance will be much higher. You will also be able to program one of your mind-controlled followers to pretend to be on their side, then betray the foolish NPC. This betrayal scenario - where one of the resistors is infested - is a staple of parasite storytelling and so I'm glad I'm finally able to add it in.

I'll also be adding a more detailed fail screen to describe exactly what went wrong, as well as more explanations for all the various actions.

In order to do all this, I've switched over the daytime action handling code to be person-oriented rather than action-oriented, which means tearing it all up and reorganizing it. The person who was helping with code is now afk, so I've got to do this myself. It's going to be a couple days but I think maybe by wednesday I should have this next section completed.

Nowhere near, I'm mainly just teaching myself U4 so it's slow (which is why I haven't dared do Patreon, this is just for me for the foreseeable future). I have a plan to hybridise Overseer's turn-based day actions with Plague Inc.'s real-time evolution ticks; this game is based on every mind control theme that I've encountered on Hypnopics-Collective and TFGS, paring them down to distinct themes and "races" with a few sub types. When I get it going I'll drop you a link in your community section though 😊

This is very cool, along the lines of a game I was already planning out in Unreal 4 which would include a species playable similar to your parasites :D

It's really impressive and ballsy for you to have a functional game that's mostly finished and decide what you wanted to do with it in the end just wasn't working and tear it all up and start over from scratch, gameplay wise, to make it more the way you envisioned it. I really approve.
