So after Visto’s zebra finch guess on WTN I had to look it up to see what it looked like. Boy was that disappointing. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a perfectly fine bird. I get it. It looks like a finch and has some zebra stripes. But not that much, just a couple black and white striped tail feathers. There’s a half dozen species of woodpecker that would’ve been aptly named after a zebra. Maybe my expectations were too high and if so that’s on me. If I hear someone say zebra-(blank) I’d think the majority of that thing would have zebra stripes, no?

With respect to the Alzheimer's predictive model, how did they test its accuracy? They'll need fresh data to make predictions not used to develop the model. If they only modeled part of the data and used the other part to test, then the sample size is really operationally smaller. It seems to me that this is a good start, but fresh data, which unfortunately takes time, is needed.
