I remember watching The Men Who Built America (Vanderbilt, Rockefeller, Carnegie, Morgan, Ford). What struck me was the hesitancy of Rockefeller to transition to electric. He had his cash cow, so he resisted transitioning every step of the way. It made me realize that society doesn't shift until the wealthy figure out how to make money and are willing to yield their cash cow.
