The planet was from H2G2 - Bethselamin: For years, the fabulously beautiful planet of Bethselamin increased its booming tourist industry without any worries at all. Alas, as is often the case, this was an act of utter stupidity, as it led to a colossal cumulative erosion problem. Of course, what else could one expect with ten billion tourists per annum? Thus today the net balance between the amount you eat and the amount you excrete while on the planet is surgically removed from your body weight when you leave; so every time you go to the lavatory there, it is vitally important to get a receipt.

2024-06-19 14:17:47 +0000 UTCWhile on vacation in Hawaii in August 1998, we took a rest day and turned on the TV. Every single channel was about the Clinton scandal. Even shows that didn't seem they they would bring it in somehow did. Eventually, we found the Planet of the Apes 30th Anniversary marathon, which could not possibly include Clinton (spoiler alert: it didn't, missed opportunity if you ask me). Between shows, were interviews with the cast. For the first movie, they had a nice cushy budget. With the second movie, since the set was still intact (much to their surprise), the budget was cut. From the 1st sequel onward, the studio kept cutting the budget to less than the previous movie and expected greater return.
