AI lacks imagination and curiosity. It is able to mash together things that it "knows," not overly different from humans who can only work with what they know. However, curiosity allows humans to combine things and explore nature to just discover what will happen. (I recommend reading The Usefulness of Useless Knowledge.) Humans are also able to apply a solution from one thing to something else to solve problems.

Then I took astronomy 101 with Carl Sagan. Changed my worldview. Extraordinary claims need extraordinary evidence was the overall theme of the course. He stressed that astronomy is the perfect example Of how science should work…very limited evidence (optical and radio telescopes, physics, a few space probes) and yet we have figured out our universe began 13.8 years ago.
