What's the deal with that signed book draw? I went to the website and didn't see anything with regards to this.

Hence why I suggested buying microphones to send to guests and rogues at different locations, have an audio engineer set it up for them prior to the live broadcast, and TO DO post production on it. And only as a suggestion to improve the show. I love the SGU and will forever be a lifelong listener, regardless of the production value. And I have some experience as a video editor, so if I could provide some support or expertise/experience, I would love to. But I am here only to offer a critical suggestion.

You do understand that this was a live, unedited stream recording (video & audio) from the NECSS conference this month and they are recording from three different locations using different equipment with NO POST PRODUCTION.

Do you think that the rogues are going to take a person saying “hey I can do this better let me help” from a Patreon comments page? If that’s the case let me offer my hand! I’ve been working in Hollywood as an editor for 10 years now. I am NOT a sound person, so the audio engineering is something I can’t help with, but I know many who could. In terms of video content and production, let me help! Please I’d love to commit my time to the skeptical movement, especially the SGU because it’s a mission and cause I sincerely believe in. As far as buying better audio equipment? I’m already a Patreon member so I’m giving my money to help buy that new equipment. So again, if my words were too acerbic for those reading it, and thought I was too abrasive at first, I hope I’ve illustrated that I am not only a fan, a skeptic, and a supporter, but also someone who holds the SGU to a high standard. And if it was unclear before, the only reason I posted was because I think there are areas where this show can improve. If any rogue is reading this, without sounding so presumptuous, I’d like to help, if you need/want it.

Wawro

'But yeah, I'm an asshole'. Your words, no one else's. And I don't see any demonstration of love, actions louder than words etc. Why not offer to help if you can and it is 'insanely easy'?

My attitude is a failure, as a fan of this show for over a decade. I listen every week and personally love each of the rogues in the parasocial relationship of audience and podcaster. Having a critical thing to say about it doesn't betray a bad attitude, but a desire for the show to continue to succeed and do better. But yeah, I'm an asshole for offering critical feedback. Great skeptical work on your part.

Wawro

TL;DR. If you think you can do better, start a podcast you muppet. Good luck, your attitude is already a failure.

I really hate to reiterate it, but hearing the mouse clicks of each individual scrolling and clicking through the articles on their screens is insanely easy to remove and completely unprofessional. I’m also hearing cloth noise on mics?? Is someone wearing a lav?? Why is the production quality so lackluster on this episode, but generally in the whole franchise? There are small low cost high quality changes you can make to maximize the effectiveness and production quality and value of the content you produce. The SGU benefits from an enthusiastic fan base, of people who genuinely believe in the mission of the SGU and are willing to overlook a lot of blemishes and blunders, but it seems like the organization is resting on a comfortable status quo because it’s worked in the past, and is becoming antiquated and lazy in the progress of the medium they exist in. This franchise and mission deserves a better production and it’s worthwhile to invest in because I think you will cast a wider net.

Why does this “in studio” session not only sound like a zoom episode, but actually worse than that. Why is Steve at the bottom of a well?? Jay also sounds like he’s in a cathedral broadcasting on zoom. How can the team not have the technical equipment and production to mediate these issues? I love this show so much, and it really deserves the production and producer involvement to polish and perfect the show now. Just because you need to do a remote show doesn’t mean it needs to be recorded over a streaming platform. Send your rogues professional mics, have an audio engineer set it up for them, buy redundant mics to send to guests and replace when the tech fails. Also start video recording these zoom episodes snd release online. I can’t believe the SGU episodes do not have a video component involved yet. It is atrocious. The visual supplementation would be so helpful, especially in a time when people WATCH podcasts as much as they listen to them.

Wawro

Where do we put in the password? I'm not seeing it on the site? I just got the past in the episode where they announced the character limit.
