RE: the idea of our visual system predicting the future -- I think fast twitch video games like FPS of fighting games would be a very good test of this. Say you're scoped trying to track someone for a headshot -- you're at some level predicting where they are going. The kicker is that you can move in video games in ways that don't exactly track with normal physical laws. Say someone stops strafing or changes direction. Now that I think about it an small toy game with just like a cursor and a moving square would work too. But if you look at popular games you have people who have spent a lot of time training their visual system to predict the not-quite-real physics.

All my life, I have had at least a month's supply of nonperishable food whenever possible, just in case. I have that now, and do not plan on buying more until the middle of April. I also have over 20 gallons of water. Toilet paper? OOOOOOOOOOOPS! I never thought of that and am running out. It won't happen again.
