Mine's been working all along. Maybe delete and add afresh?

For the trophy hunt part, I recommend checking out Cara’s own podcast, Let’s talk Nerdy. She did two episodes on this while in Namibia for a conference, one interviewing a hunter focused on conservation and one with a Namibian woman that works with the issue locally. An eye opener for me!

Stopped working for me on 15Jul19, same day as the ad-free version of Sean Carroll's Mindscape podcast. Planning on upgrading hardware and iTunes software, though not at all certain that will improve the situation.

Yeah, it’s stopped working for me too. I hope they fix this soon.

Is there a podcast feed for the ad-free episodes? I know there used to be, but it stopped working a while back.

As Steve already probably knows even more than I do we're beating up our Healthcare System for not delivering Better Health Care and one of the main measures that are cited is our longevity versus other countries. If we'd addressed the murder and suicide rate that by itself would be a way to eliminate most of the difference in our outcomes and other countries that we want to compare ourselves to. Thanks your episode I did not say it is the way I just said it is a way keep up the good work

Kind of two comments they're related to two different episodes. First I'm hoping a lot of people write in on this: no one pays attention 2 the suicide rate with guns which is the 120- 130 in a 2 day period. and the good old traditional homocide for handguns which Neil put at 40 but I would say might be a little higher if you use recent data. All of which still dwarf the splashy homicide by rifle that is capturing the news cycle. My concern with just saying while we should focus on the assault rifles is twofold: it sucks all the oxygen out of the room and diverts attention from really reducing our deaths by these weapons because the political energy is spent to just solve the assault weapon problem doesn't really reduce the pverall homicide rate and suicide rate. It has been noted in the past and still is true that The NRA and other groups in my opinion are more than happy to fight us on this issue because it delays and draws attention from the broader issue of reducing overall gun violence in my opinion If you wait till the dust clears on the latest assault weapon issue you can't get any traction on the real main cause of death with these weapons . So I am siding with Neil and with whoever else is trying to get us to look at a more complete solution. Second a couple episodes ago Cara mentioned big game hunting in safaris as being a possible benefits and a necessary component to be able to successfully conserve some of the species. I live in northern Maryland right on the border with Pennsylvania- when I said that I was going to Kenya the Assumption was I was going to go hunt something not go to a a actually look at these animals . If a middle-class nurse in a rural middle class primary care facility is assuming the middle-class person is going to Trophy hunt my concern is how much of this is actually going on and how sustainable is it really? I will probably do some of my own digging but if you have seen anything on this issue I would appreciate it.
