Rogues! You talked about the Milgram Experiment and talked about what most people think of when they think of the results of the experiment. I JUST listened to Radiolab's "Bad Show". It was the first story in the show. It turns out that when people were convinced that what they were doing was for the "greater good", (something they ought to do) many people would continue shocking. When they ordered the subject to shock the person, "You must shock the subject", 0% shocked the subject. Meaning: as long as you can convince people that what they are doing is for the greater good, many people will shock even after struggling with the situation. However, when they say, "You have no other choice", they are ordered, nobody shocked the subject.
