Notes

The ball should finally start to get rolling for this month's releases, thank you very much for your patience 😅. It really sucks to sit on a bunch of basically finished stuff while having to wait for the voice acting to get done, but such is the nature of the game until I get a good rhythm in!

I've held the idea of applying a holographic texture for a human mesh ever since that one Overwatch animation I made back for Christmas. I initially reserved the idea for a Symmetra animation, thinking that it just made too much sense, but I somehow ended up doing the idea with Freja instead <u<. The central goal with this animation was to practice my NLA skills to see if I could figure out how to create some speed variation within my animations. I think it came out okay as a first try but it is certainly something I will revisit for future animations as I'm always looking for whatever can make my animations less stale and monotonous, which does seem like a never ending battle at my current skill level. That's also partly why I am playing around with camera transitions and the likes. I'm trying to find a good middle ground between trying new stuff and improving whilst also relying on the skills I've already gathered, as I have a tendency to spontaneously try to do too many things all in one go which is not always the best option. I should also probably lay off using Sombra hacking stuff as a theme for Overwatch animations since I've done it like twice in a row (╯°□°)╯┻━┻.

On a semi-related note, something I really want to tackle down the road is getting a lot better at applying audio. I do believe it is a pretty underrated aspect and can really elevate the viewer experience, but where I'm currently at there's just so many more fundamental things to tackle.
