2009

Guitar Hero take 2! This one still isn’t perfect but it’s much better overall. Part of me feels like it would be fun to tackle the idea a 3rd time… what do you think?

2011

Around here I decided I wanted for him to actually have a more bear-like figure. It’s really subtle here since it was something I wasn’t used to, but he has a bit more weight to him here.

2014

Was it really that long of a gap Wheeler drawings? I guess this is when Eli probably started coming into his own more? Wheeler continues to put on a little more weight, and this is around the time here I started simplifying all the fluff on my characters faces as well. His eyebrows are a little thicker too and would continue to get thicker for some time.

2015

BEAR!!!

He’s officially burly! But you can still see the 2008 design inspiration quite a bit. One of the biggest problems I started having is that drawing five fingers on a hand (paw?) that big was a huge hassle, but I felt stuck at the time because he’s always had five fingers, I can’t just change that! ...A thought process I’d drop and drop hard for the entirety of Lesser Than Three a few years later.

When will I be satisfied?

2016

Introducing his job as a cashier, making him the first of the cast to canonically have a job. It kinda sucks, but it pays the bills. The apron might not be a typical cashier look, but consider the fact that it looks good on him. He also has full on Rock Lee eyebrows now, though any resemblance was completely coincidental. I’d continue trying to figure out his body type for a bit.
