A video about Europa Clipper - Preview

Hey!

We have a new video coming out about NASA's newest mission - launching in just a few days.
Some assets are still missing, but we'd love to hear your feedback!

@13:30, you moved the camera a bit

Grayson Mobley

I currently write my Master Thesis under one of the scientists who contributed to the JUICE mission. If you need a contact for an interview or something hmu :)

Phil

Looks interesting. I am no expert on hardcore astrophysics but the animations look smooth. Wonder what those "missing assets" are, happy to support such quality content.

Great video! At 7 minutes, your animations of the moons orbiting Jupiter make it look like they are tidally locked. Are they? Does that affect the squeezing physics? Also, the most interesting new thing I learned was how the magnitude of elongation will tell us for sure there's a subsurface ocean, and I'd love to know when we'll get the first data on that magnitude, not just the first high res pictures.

Chris Mullin

I believe, I read somewhere that Clarke never had any "suspicions" about Europa. He merely chose it, because it was conveniently there.

Gerrit Venema

As a new undergrad astrophysics student this is really inspiring to me.

Thanks for flagging, Kimberly!

This is one of the most exciting updates I have seen in years the 30+ years that I have known that these moons were suspected of having liquid water. I teach H.S. level Marine Biology and will be glued to my laptop for future updates. Thank You ! ๐Ÿ’œ

Those animations of Jupiter's magnetic field and it's effects are *chef's kiss*. The Europa Clipper launch date has been delayed due to Hurricane Milton. So the mention of it at the front of the video might need tweaking.

Kimberly Green

Fascinating video. Although I follow this kind of thing, I learned many new things. Iโ€™m looking forward to the final release so I can see all the photos and videos.

Marshall Buhl

Very exciting missions! Hope all goes well.
