Work without significant down time and break periods makes most humans miserable and burnt out, and claiming this trait for America isn't the win you think it is. You want Casefile to be a money-maker dedicated to growth first, but they are a true crime podcast dedicated primarily to remaining free for listeners and telling nuanced stories that take time and care to research, write, and produce. These goals aren't compatible with non-stop assembly line-style production. We wouldn't enjoy Casefile as much if it were trying to bank episodes and churn out content just for content's sake. These stories are brutal and hard to sit with, and the team deserves a break from then once in a while. The fact they offer to refund subscriptions for patrons during their off months tells us that they have firmly prioritized scheduled breaks in their release calendar. If you don't respect that choice, that's what the refund is for. Personally, i value Casefile *more* because of this commitment to looking after themselves like this, and I am happy to support them during the off m onths because I'm still subsidizing all the amazing content we get the rest of the year.

2024-01-02 09:34:53 +0000 UTCQuestion for the team: What are your thoughts on disappearances of minors who, considering all available evidence, may have left voluntarily? I know this can be a controversial topic, since we have seen cases of police using that as a reason to delay search efforts. However, I work as a children’s social worker and I see cases of children eloping as a very common practice. Listening to Andrew Gosdens’s case made me think of many clients I have worked with. It was heartbreaking but sometimes kids do run away to start a new life for reasons that we, as adults, might consider trivial. (Example: Alicia Navarro disappearance, Arizona, USA) Thank you.

2023-12-19 16:27:36 +0000 UTCIs there a big case, like Golden State Killer, you wish you could report on but don't feel you could do in a new, interesting light? In the past, the team wanted to shy away from big cases unless they could give a new perspective and I wonder if that's holding you back from any cases?

2023-12-17 20:40:35 +0000 UTCHello, long time keen listener and Patreon supporter of your podcast, first time poster. These are just 2 general questions for the team 1. Where do you see the podcast in 5 years? 2. If you could have dinner with any person, alive or passed, who would it be? Andrew Gosden In your research, did you find if there was any more evidence/speculation around his home life being more turbulent than was let on? And that being part of the reason he may have left that day?

2023-12-17 06:09:39 +0000 UTCNo offense. You just took off June July August. It’s weird. You are on the world stage.

2023-12-17 05:54:11 +0000 UTCThey also close for the summer. Or winter over there Why? Could you imagine if Google or Facebook just said we are leaving for a month lol. That’s why all the big companies come from the USA and it will always remain that way. We work

2023-12-17 05:53:16 +0000 UTCHad the team ever discussed covering huge cases such as OJ Simpson or Jon Bennett Ramsay? I feel like these cases have been so mired in speculation that a casefile retelling could cut through the noise and tell them really well. The Andrew Gosden case really is heart wrenching. The fact that he didn’t buy the return ticket is the key detail for me that he wasn’t coming home. Do you agree?

2023-12-17 01:24:32 +0000 UTCWill deleted case 55 Simone Strobel ever be able to be re-told?

2023-12-17 00:42:06 +0000 UTCI recently re-listened to case 26 Lisa-Marie Young, and the special follow up episode in which somebody potentially involved in the case had contacted Soundcloud to have it deleted. Has anything like this happened again?

2023-12-17 00:41:29 +0000 UTCHave you visited New Zealand? And did you enjoy it?

2023-12-17 00:39:32 +0000 UTCSorry going back to Shari Smith. Do you think the killer was always after her sister, Dawn, and made an error. Seems that way to me. Mark

2023-12-16 08:40:15 +0000 UTCEase up turbo! If you listened to the last episode there is still behind the scenes stuff happening, most companies close down for 2 weeks over the Christmas period here to spend some time with their loved ones. For all we know, the casefile team could be smashing out scripts for October 2024s pods at this point... we will never know, and that's OK! Sounds like you need to have something decent to eat, and have a rest so you can untangle those knickers that are in a twist.

2023-12-16 04:13:29 +0000 UTCWith the recent television adaptation of the family court murders show on channel 10, did that have any correlation with the removal of your episodes on the family court murders? Or is that subject to an NDA 😅 Thanks for answering my festival question in the last episode 😀 hope y'all have some down time in this BS heat wave that's occurring on the eastern side of Australia, and if anyone is in QLD, that they are OK from Jasper.

2023-12-16 04:04:58 +0000 UTCSorry for the grammar but I don’t get the cultural difference. We are descended from Britain

2023-12-16 03:33:13 +0000 UTCWhy do non Americans just take off for months. It’s such a weird way to run a business. I see it with my own company. Even dealing with Australians no urgency exists. The guy disappears for a week I have to chase him down. In fact I told him this same exact thing. If you want to be reach how do you clothes supper during my summer months your winter months. And for the last month or two. You have an incredible gig podcasting. People want content. People would beg to be in your sure. All the other podcasters with 51 weeks a year and fell guilty about taking the 52nd off. It’s not heart surgery. Build some episodes up and bank them if you have to have your holidays. Just seems so strange to me that you don’t build your business. I guess that’s why all the great companies come out of the USA.
