I remember reading that in Sydney Australia in the early 20th C, there was a big rat plague and thallium was handed out to kill the rats. Apparently many men who were dead-beat husbands started getting sick and died, too.

This was done so well. Great narration, fascinating, but terrifying case!

Smart doctor for picking that up , Thallium was the murder weapon of choice 100 years ago for life insurance claims , thanks casefile !

This episode reminds me what good storytellers y'all are 💛 I'm familiar with this case, but the details yall include and the way you present the case, brings the case to life and gives much deeper meaning. Thank you!

This is such a fascinating case. I finally figured out which case this was right before the plot jumped over to the Mensa meeting and I was so excited! An excellent telling as always. Poisoning cases are always so interesting, and thallium cases especially are always among the wildest!

Coincidentally reading A Passion for Poison by Carol Ann Lee, about Brit poisoner, Graham Young.. his preferred poison of choice, antimony and Thallium.
