Case 227: Mike Williams

The weekend of December 16 2000 was shaping up to be a good one for Tallahassee man Mike Williams. With a romantic getaway planned to celebrate his sixth wedding anniversary to his wife Denise, Mike got up early to sneak in a couple hours of duck hunting on Lake Seminole. When he failed to return home, Denise quickly raised the alarm.

When Denise told mikes mother if she proceed with the investigation she wouldn’t be allowed her to see her granddaughter the alarm bells starting ringing 🚩

Emma Brown

It amazes me Casey can narrate these stories without inserting any sort of opinion about it. I was shouting into the void about how terrible these people are.

Megan

She picketed outside their church. I love it.

Brenda Wells

Agreed- classic casefile. Are these patreon direct episodes of higher audio quality than the RSS feed? Sounds like it...

Michael Brodie

I thought the same thing Monica like wut? 🤔

Excellent episode.. Classic Casefile episode for me.! I feel for the mother and hope she got closure and manages to reconcile with her granddaughter. Casey & team - What's the name of the track at the start?

Abhi Ram

When it came around to “Denise saw a dark figure sitting in her backseat” I was like WOAH HES ALIVE PLOT TWIST but boring was just her alive husband 😒

Zac

Great episode, I feel like there's dozens of cases where moms get justice and refuse to give up

Waders, gators, and haters… Superb treatment of a chilling and sad case.

That's religion for you. It's all about appearance, not actual belief.

@53:35 not only did divorce go against her religious beliefs LMAOO wow you cannot be serious! Her religious convictions about divorce are so strong but cheating and MURDER aren’t? That’s rich

Monica

If you're guilty of conspiring to murder, and that murder actually happens at the hands of your fellow conspirator, how are you not guilty of murder?

Bob Trenwith

Yessss such a fascinating case, can't wait to listen to the Casefile treatment!
