Case 214: Kevin Hjalmarsson

The residential area was located on the shores of the Kyrkviken bay, just three kilometres outside central Arvika. It was a close-knit community and residents mostly trusted one another. Therefore, it was common practice for the local children to play around town without supervision, provided they steer clear of the main roads and lake. They never veered too far, and a familiar adult was never too far away.

yes… an accident… an accident named felix. also this episode makes me want to hear about the james bulger case.

Pmw

That would involve confrontation which Scandinavians cannot handle.

Kat Mohn

If you have listened to anything about the Satanic Panic, so much will sound familiar. As soon as they described the multiple interogations of children, I knew this wasn't going to end well.

What a sad story 😞 That investigative team was horrendous.

Storme

Because it happened in Sweden where there are basically never any repercussions for anyone in authority no matter how badly they fuck up.

Kristin Røe

This reminds me so much of a James Wood movie, The Indictment: The McMartin Trial. These techniques were also used to wrongly convict a father not far from my home city from indecently assaulting his teenage daughters.

Mark Ofmalovia

Terrible investigation. Thankyou for work.

Rosie Overell

Omg, these poor families 💔 Thank y'all for telling this incredible story ❤️

When the case seems resolved but there’s still another 39 minutes to go, you know there’s a twist coming. Excellent job Casey + team.

Jessica

So why were there no repercussions for the investigative team?

Bob Trenwith
