It’s a true crime podcast

This was incredible! So so interesting

Sanchia

This was like listening to a movie. I gasped out loud a couple of times it was so surreal. Well done on such an incredibly written episode!

Ruth Tilleard

Whoa what an episode !!!

Melanie G.

This was such a twister, had me on the edge of my seat the entire episode. Felt like a real life murder mystery thriller. Incredible start to 2021 👏

Telma M

YES! We are back!

DaveC

SPOILER yes after you go back to that audio after finishing the episode it seems almost irrefutable that it’s a female voice

Stefan Bradley

As per the usual, Casefile you did not disappoint with this one! So in depth and well written! I have heard several that paint her as the victim, but the CF spin makes you think twice. Great job, team!

B-randy D

Wowza!! What a entrance to 2021!!! Crazy good episode! I just couldn't believe how that one panned out!

Leah Budd

Oh wow! What a roller coaster. I wondered how she was found in her garage after an attack with her hands tied behind her back yet she was holding the alarm button. How would that happen?

Katrina Patch

You guys came back with a bang! This is one of those cases where I just don’t know what to think, but it’s so sad and awful either way. Her poor family must live in such misery over all the unknowns. Great job, Casefile team!

Mandy G

Without casefile I would never put up with patreon

Jamie Yardley

I remember watching this case on Unsolved Mysteries. It's certainly one of the most tragic and confusing ones I'd ever come across.

Julian DiLorenzo

Great storytelling on this one! I've never heard of this case before. Now I feel like I have to find and read everything there is on it!

Ruth A Davis

Awesome episode. Great work Casefile!

Robyn Stephens

Hey team. Can you please put a content warning for DV and stalking at the start of this? It's a really scary episode.

Abby Moret

For the first full episode of 2021, this was a great return episode. What a strange, bizarre and compelling case.

Charles Comiskey

Great case! I agree with Michael Marino, but also agree with her ex husband - the psychiatric “help” she received throughout her life was woeful. So sad for all involved.

Maressa Calder

I thought it was Cindy doing it all along and I thought it was her that left the voicemail.

Iain Strachan

Agree 100%

Iain Strachan

I thought the same!! At that time when I was listening I thought it was Roy for sure - but then I heard the voicemail and thought it DEFINITELY sounded like a woman. So I wondered if there was a female accomplice. This case was an absolute roller coaster

Telma M

Excellent as always. I really appreciate how you keep certain key details secret to keep the mystery going until near the end. Spoiler: for example that a sister was on that boat trip. That is a very key detail that proves Cindy...well. I’ll just leave it at that. Spoilers toward a minor point, I’m sure unpopular to say. Yes Cindy is a victim. But also Cindy wasted thousands of police hours. She maligned the reputation of her brother and her ex husband. She damaged several homes.

MM

Personally, I really enjoy the cases where recorded audio is provided where it can be. To me it adds a bit of dynamic to the story. Great work!

Sean Boulden

Correct but you don’t need the ‘by proxy’ bit if it’s self inflicted. It’s just called Munchausen Syndrome.

Iain Strachan

That was an awesome episode! I love your details and story telling! I am now searching for the books referenced on this case! So many questions! Munchausen by proxy is well known- but it is also self inflicted. Sounds like she may have had a severe case. How did her psychiatrist husband not see the signs?! Such and intriguing case!

Megan Davis

Welcome back hope you guys had an relaxing break . This case was an absolute wild ride. I went from thinking it was her ex husband to it was her faking it (maybe the meds effected her & she was doing it to herself in a dissociative state) back to her ex husband again. I definitely don’t believe it was a suicide. The police left her down so badly if they did believe she was making it up why didn’t they surveillance the house when she wasn’t aware? Saying that it was definitely in their own interests to portray her as a crazy person rather than admit they had any wrong doing.

sandra o donoghue

I just listened to another on her!! Curious to hear the Casefile spin!!!

B-randy D

Yayyyyy you’re baaaaaackkkkkk🥳🥳

Megan Brennan

Best episode in a long time. Thanks.

Christina Roux

Ok so this may be a SPOILER but... Am I the only one that thinks that voicemail is clearly a woman speaking?Only just past that bit so I don’t know the outcome but if it isn’t her making it all up I’ll be very surprised.

Iain Strachan

So so good. Very happy you are back!

Rebekah

Bravo👏 What a mystery and so well told!

K. Smith

I've heard the Cindy James case told before but not to this extent. Excellent job, Casefile!

Laura Friedrich

Fräulein Mánn-schaft

The audio played in this is creepy as heck! What a case and what a return! Welcome back, legends :)

Maya George

Thanks for the new casefile.. I love having a bit of quiet time and listening. Would it please be possible to upload to advertisement version early too?? I like the ads as they’re an allocated time for my brain to rest and stop listening to the story for a while :) plus I like the product suggestions

Alien Princess

Omg what a return 🤘

RubySpook

Welcome back!!

Courtney Martin

I am so happy y'all are back!! I have been so stressed this week (I'm a teacher moving to in person instruction with minimal procedures in place; my sister and her husband were exposed to covid; started new graduate level classes) and new Casefile is exactly what I need.
