Case 120: Bill McGuire

It was a dark green suitcase. Given its proximity to the bridge, the men assumed it must have blown off the luggage rack of a vehicle driving above and hauled it onboard. 12-year-old Sam expressed his excitement at thinking they had stumbled upon pirates’ treasure and hastily zipped the bag open, finding it held items wrapped in thick black garbage bags sealed with blue adhesive tape.

I agree this was was not an outlandish statement. Equally Genghis Khan. Many Europeans have a little piece of him and/or his prodigy.

Kind of unnerving hearing my name in this context! Great episode!

Omg, what a selfish person is Melanie! This is so sad, I agree with the comment above - just get a damn divorce!!!!

Such a strange story. Casefile did a good job on the episode, but it was just such a strange story. I still have so many questions. Mainly, ‘what the hell?!’ and ‘why??’

Maya George

Why don’t people just get a bloody divorce 😳

Regarding the witness claiming he was descended from Charlemagne ... it has been suggested that almost everyone alive today who has European ancestry is descended from Charlemagne (and also from everyone else alive in Europe at the time who left progeny).

Bob Trenwith

Agree Alan, but Melanie was a cold-blooded killer. So evil.

One thing that bugs me about this case and just people in general at times is this big focus on the wife Melanie saying her husband was one way and his friends and family being like no he wasn't he was great. It can be both. From personal experience in one past relationship my partner could, at times, be 100% different than the person portrayed to her friends and family and nobody would believe it was possible unless they experienced it first hand like me. It doesn't have to be either or, often times both can be true, both perspectives on a person.
