Blink 182?!! Please marry me now. 😍

Jamee K

Agreed. By today's standards with so much information access and oversharing, I love the anonymity of the host! I adore it and i'm equally frustrated by it - which I also love!

Maya George

Brilliant! I'm about to tuck into some Domino's. Thanks for your time, Host. Have a great day/night as well :)

Jennifer Murphy

Thankyou everyone for joining in. Have a great day/night

Casefile True Crime

Supreme with prawn always good too

Casefile True Crime

Absolutely. No such thing as bad pizza. I love ham and mushroom and meat lovers.

Casefile True Crime

I have a very important question. Do you like pizza?

Jennifer Murphy

Oh I didn't realize you had done this in the past! I do remember when you played the Mom's testimony in the Stoni Blair episode...talk about horrific :(

Jennifer Murphy

Likewise. Thanks for your time host.

Steve Romanow

Have a great day/night everyone

Mark Caraway

Any other questions?

Casefile True Crime

Enjoy. Thanks for joking in Jessica

Casefile True Crime

Well I best go knock some of this assignment on the head. Have a great day Hosty! 😊

ZomZom

Gillian @ CourtJunkie has a lot of interview content.

Steve Romanow

Yes we have done in the past. And will in the future where it fits.

Casefile True Crime

Horrific

Casefile True Crime

Awesome I look forward to it immensely. The documentary interested me but the very name of it suggests bias from the outset. He may well be innocent but there was damning evidence and questions as to his character. There’s a world of transcripts and all sorts out there. Perhaps a separate one on Dassey would also be cool.

ZomZom

Do you ever plan on interviewing people for the podcast (relatives of victim, etc)? Not that I could ever get sick of your voice! Just curious :)

Jennifer Murphy

Sad case going thru our courts here in Michigan of a elementary age kid killing another on the playground. Going to be several years before that can be unpacked.

Steve Romanow

I have a feeling that case may be on our potentials list. Will check.

Casefile True Crime

Would love to hear the Casefile take on Avery case!

Captain Flint

Interesting police interview etc.

Casefile True Crime

We do look for cases that have some different elements going on. Not so much suspense. But maybe an interesting investigation. Or interesting trial. Or some other element.

Casefile True Crime

I didn’t realise your anonymity was intentional. Like the Banksy of podcasting :) I agree that it is great that the podcast does focus on the story instead of the host - it makes for good listening.

Amarie

Yeah I am keen to do one in Avery actually for that very reason. It seemed a bit biased in how it was presented. Maybe for good reason. Maybe not. I have no idea. I don’t know anything about the case other then what was on the Netflix series. I’m keen to have a look though.

Casefile True Crime

When looking at a case, how much does the ability to input suspense into the storytelling come into play? The hope I framed that question correctly.

Mark Caraway

I am currently doing an assignment on Amanda Knox which occurred in Italy. Now that one has definitely gripped my interest. Ever thought about doing one on Stephen Avery Mr Host 😆 the documentary was quite one sided an impartial view would be good.

ZomZom

Robert Hansen is the guy who would kidnap women and take them to his island to hunt them. He inspired the short story "The Most Dangerous Game". I'd love an episode on him

David

Good work Jessica!

Casefile True Crime

Those three countries account for 90 per cent of the audience. Also a lot of the more well known ones are from there. Moors. Yorkshire. EARONS etc. But we have a few cases in the works that are from other locations. We definitely aren’t just going to stick to that.

Casefile True Crime

No ulterior motive intended to this question: I’ve noticed most cases on the podcast come out of the US, UK, or Australia. Is there a particular reason for that?

Mark Caraway

This is to avoid the irregularity of episode releases we had last year. Like we release 5 in a row. Then need 2 weeks off. Then back for 2 in a row. Then 1 off. It was a bit all of the place. So this will be a set schedule. So everyone knows where we are at. And there may still be occasional bonus episodes on top as welll

Casefile True Crime

We did a road trip early jan and I put on one of your episodes in the car. My husband then asked me to put another on and requested them again on the way home. He now lives with his headphones in his ears 😂

ZomZom

Some more news for you all. This year we are going with a three on one off schedule.

Casefile True Crime

i'm glad you remain annon. it really does make the podcast more about the story and not the personality of the story teller. thank you for doing such a great job.

kellie

Was happy to see on your site that hardcore history was an influence. Love that one too.

Steve Romanow

Have you thought about doing Robert Hansen?

David

Yes

Casefile True Crime

Yea

Casefile True Crime

i'd love to hear you cover Ivan Millat and family at some point

kellie

Enjoy. Thank you Laura.

Casefile True Crime

Our first multi parter for the year.

Casefile True Crime

Time to eat! Love you, love the show and looking forward to the next Casefile! 💕

Laura Carlson

Not many. Some breaking news though. The month of February will be a three parter.

Casefile True Crime

Thank you Steve

Casefile True Crime

Thankyou Elizabeth

Casefile True Crime

Haha. Wouldn’t stay a secret long then I reckon

Casefile True Crime

I think it's fantastic that you choose to remain anonymous. It adds to the intrigue of the show!

Jennifer Murphy

How many cases do you have in backlog

Mark Caraway

Your episodes set in the 60s and 70s Australia are pretty gripping.

Steve Romanow

Yes! I'd pay it! And I wouldn't tell anyone who you are. I'd keep it to myself. Promise. Ha ha!

Elizabeth stewart

Just want to say hi and I'm still loving the show! Thanks for all of the hard work! It is truly appreciated.

Elizabeth stewart

You should create a Patreon level for some obscene amount and reveal your identity as the reward. Just kidding. Lol!

Mark Caraway

I find it suits the show and the content. We make it about the story/the case as opposed to a host/personality.

Casefile True Crime

👍

Casefile True Crime

Yeah keep an eye on it. Looking forward to Michelle McNamara’s book coming out in a few weeks.

Casefile True Crime

It’s almost like it was meant to be

Casefile True Crime

The ones that have me punching the steering wheel in frustration are the East Area Rapist type shows. So many people. So much evidence. And no damn person on the hook for it. It had to be incompetence

Stuart Sharman

You have probably been asked this 1 million times so I apologise for the repetition but what are the reasons you choose to remain anonymous?

Anastasia

Hi Anastasia

Casefile True Crime

They are one of my favourites and if you like so cal punk music they might be right up your alley. Thanks for answering :)

Jennifer Murphy

Do you still follow the EARONS case?

Mark Caraway

It’s amazing how well you all work together. It seems it was truly meant to be. 😄 Your podcast is so well done, you’d think you all had been cooking it up for a while. 😂

Laura Carlson

Hi there Casey

Anastasia

Hi Steve. Yes it can be at times. But I try my best. It’s important to step away and take a break from the show at Times.

Casefile True Crime

Just wanted to say hi and love your team's work. Is it hard for you to get time for interests that are not true crime?

Steve Romanow

Ah yes the Criminal one? Yeah I still haven’t listened. I’ve been told by many I should check it out. I will listen to that one episode eventually.

Casefile True Crime

Thankyou very much Amarie

Casefile True Crime

Funnily enough we are rarely in that position! It’s pretty much a case of whatever episode is done and ready we go with it!

Casefile True Crime

A listener said it best on our Facebook page. “I want to believe”

Casefile True Crime

Yep they are hard to put together too. They make me angry.

Casefile True Crime

The Criminal ep was an interview with one of the sisters. It’s only short and was for me at least, a good way to cap all your hard work. Top stuff from your team

Stuart Sharman

Thankyou Monique. we got the popular vote in the castaway awards last year thanks to you our amazing listeners voting in. And the iTunes recognition last year and the year before. Not really awards as such - but pretty awesome to get.

Casefile True Crime

I’m grateful you did take the plunge. The quality of your stories and production are very impressive. I find myself listening to episodes more than once. Thank you!

Amarie

When you have quite a few cases ‘ready to go’ how do you decide the order of release for each episode?

Gemma Harris

No never have. Just one of those bands that have escaped me over the years for whatever reason. I’ve heard they’re great though.

Casefile True Crime

No we didn’t! We all met online. I found Mike on a freelancer site when I realised I needed serious help with production. And Anna joined us about 1 year later. Very lucky to assemble such a team.

Casefile True Crime

On the Anglin letter that came to light a couple weeks ago, what're your thoughts? Hoax or legit?

Svennie

Hi Stuart. No none. I spend so much time doing casefile the last thing I want to do is listen to true crime in my spare time. Not because I don’t think they wouldn’t be great - I’ve heard a lot of good things about a lot of other crime pods - but I get enough if you know what I mean. I didn’t even know criminal did Alcatraz. It was the listeners who pointed that out after we released.

Casefile True Crime

Thankyou Mikki. Thankyou for turning your friends onto us! Always appreciated.

Casefile True Crime

Thankyou Sheri. Yes a lot of hard work went into that series. Terrifying case.

Casefile True Crime

I find the episodes where there is a seemingly obvious perpetrator who goes unpunished due to some misstep by the police or a strange decision by a jury so hard to listen to. The Honolulu strangler springs to mind.

Barry Craig

If I had to take a guess. I’d say it was personal in someway. It’s hard to believe it was a Random - but it’s certainly not beyond the realms of possibility. And just a note - I don’t know anything that wasn’t in the episode. So I’m not making that guess based on any special info. Just a hunch I had while doing it. But who knows. Hopefully they solve it.

Casefile True Crime

How many awards now? Any particular award a stand out for the team? I know its not about the awards, but congrats on being recognized for all CF team does

MMH

Wait till you get to Case 54: Daniel Morecombe. Absolute highlight episode

Stuart Sharman

Hello! Do you listen to Sublime?

Jennifer Murphy

Did you, Anna and Mike know each other before you began the podcast? You have such a great team that is all around the world it seems.

Laura Carlson

Just wondering if you’ve listened to any other podcasts covering similar cases before or after you do your episodes? EG Criminal and the Alcatraz ep. Last Podcast on the Left and Jonestown

Stuart Sharman

Thank you so much for your continued hard work. You’re the highlight of my week. More and more of my friends are tuning in and getting the word out!

Mikki

We generally try and avoid anything that is before the courts currently.

Casefile True Crime

Hello from Ventura County! I am addicted to your show & obsessed with Case 53.

SX

Some great ones there - cheers!

Captain Flint

Although the podcast was started just as a hobby. Something I wanted to do for a while and thought I’d have a crack. No experience in podcasting/writing production or anything like that. Just took a plunge.

Casefile True Crime

Thankyou Amarie. I don’t go into that. About the only thing I won’t discuss in the AMAs. Sorry.

Casefile True Crime

Regarding the Eric Coy case: what's your best guess for why the murderer did what they did? Thrill kill? Child predator who was disrupted? Just a crazy person who was going to kill the next person to come by?

Nick P

As weird as this sounds. I generally avoid the news. Too depressing.

Casefile True Crime

I absolutely love your podcast! So well put together! I would love to know more about you personally - what is your background? How did you end up as a podcast host?

Amarie

If I can add to this question, how soon is too soon to be considered for an episode? Would you ever hold off out of respect?

Barry Craig

Blink 182. Nofx. No use for a name. Strung out. Teenage bottlerocket. The lillingtons. Metallica. Avenged sevenfold. Gyroscope. Body jar. Frenzal Rhomb. Parkway Drive. Silver chair. Nirvana. Bad religion. I could go on and on and on. But those are some.

Casefile True Crime

I liked the Hollywood shootout because only the bad guys died.

Casefile True Crime

Is there a story in the news that Is particularly interesting to you right now? Not necessarily something you’d have to do an episode on. Just something that piqued your interest.

Mikki

Hello Casey, Who are some of your favourite bands?

Captain Flint

Actually none. We generally know pretty early if a case won’t be suitable. So we’ve never had to abandon anything after speanding a long time on it.

Casefile True Crime

I’m sure this has been asked before: do you have a favourite episode?

Emily Chivers

No we never have a set time in mind. It’s just weird that a lot have all come in at the same time recently.

Casefile True Crime

Yeah we managed to recover about 60 per cent or so. But it took a lot of time. And going through the whole thing trying to work out what parts needed re recording was a punish. As it wasn’t just one section that was missing. It was random parts throughout the whole episode. But we got there.

Casefile True Crime

I am a new Patreon friend so apologies if you have answered this already: what is a case you guys worked on for a while but ultimately had to abandon? And why?

Rohit

The last few eps have been set around the 1hr mark. Are you looking to keep that sort of time frame in future eps?

Jessica

Not to sure what will be happening with early release this year. We may do something. But no details at the moment.

Casefile True Crime

Hi Karen

Casefile True Crime

Hi Erica! Currently listening to some so cal punk music

Casefile True Crime

Hello Rohit. Thankyou

Casefile True Crime

Hi Mark

Casefile True Crime

Did you manage to recover anything from the corrupted files?

Barry Craig

Will you be going back to one episode being available early on TuneIn? Or are you sticking to one a week from here on out?
