Oh dear, not an easy night to be a QLDer. I thought they were being cocky roaches, but they certainly thrashed us. I reckon those Chooks will get a better serving this weekend :)

2017-05-31 12:46:48 +0000 UTCNot long till kick off no. Somehow Queenslanders have convinced everyone they are the under dogs again ;/ Should be a good game. Looking forward to the chooks broncos game too. We need to inflict some revenge for the town up we got at Suncorp!

2017-05-31 08:54:03 +0000 UTCI'm so happy our host is an NRL fan! It's the best game ever. Looking forward to the State of Origin and my Broncos vs your Roosters on Saturday. I reckon it will be a good one. Your podcast is one of the best ever, I'll tell anyone who listens that haha because you, and your team are brilliant. But when it comes to Rugby League, we'll have to see how this season plays out :)
Gillian Freeman
2017-05-29 11:53:40 +0000 UTCI'd actually also love to hear some out takes. I think it would be hilarious:)

2017-05-28 09:18:08 +0000 UTCThanks for the chat! Always nice to put a person to the voice....that made no sense but oh well!

2017-05-28 01:14:48 +0000 UTCAlright I'm off. Have a great day/night everyone. Thanks for joining me for the AMA.
Casefile True Crime
2017-05-28 01:11:17 +0000 UTCAny other questions? If not I'll get back to part 5.
Casefile True Crime
2017-05-28 01:08:13 +0000 UTCThanks for the reply, I knew there was a reason so many episodes are unresolved cases 😀
Lori Feigenbaum
2017-05-28 01:05:54 +0000 UTCThank you Joan. Enjoy your flight
Casefile True Crime
2017-05-28 01:05:40 +0000 UTCMy flight is about to take off, but just wanted to say thanks for such an amazing podcast! Im anxious for my flight to take off so I can put my headphones in and listen to part 3.

2017-05-28 01:04:12 +0000 UTCBy the way some info on EAR/ONS. Yes it is now a 5 parter. Originally was slated for three. Then four. But to do it justice it needs five. But for part 5 we are working our backsides off to get it out as soon as we can after part 4. So hopefully only a few days at most after part 4 so you don't have to wait too long for the finale.

2017-05-28 01:01:46 +0000 UTCThank you Mikki

2017-05-28 00:57:21 +0000 UTCOh no it's fine. Totally fine with it. I never take Cristicsm to heart. The useful criticsm is good. As for The pointless hate/troll posts that some do - why waste energy on them...as tempted as I have been occasionally ;) Don't worry. No plans to try any different accents....yet.......kidding.
Casefile True Crime
2017-05-28 00:55:46 +0000 UTCThank you so much for taking the time once a month to do this. You're a storytelling genius and I wait with bated breath for each new episode.
Mikki
2017-05-28 00:55:12 +0000 UTCI'd pay extra for that. :) In any case, thank you kindly for all of the hard work you put into Casefile week after week. It is very much appreciated!
Karen S
2017-05-28 00:53:27 +0000 UTCNone at all. Good riddance. No plans of an update episode either or re telling his final words. He doesn't deserve it. My heart goes out to Keith Bennet's family though. I wish he told them where his body was. But after this long, I guess it was extremely remote that was ever going to happen.
Casefile True Crime
2017-05-28 00:52:35 +0000 UTCBack to the question regarding the chatter on episode 52, I will admit I was one of those nay Sayers BUT I never once thought that your original 1st few were "monotone". Just NEVER EVER lose that Aussie drawl and all will be great. And for the record my complaint was not meant to be a hateful thing 😊
Angela Welch
2017-05-28 00:51:33 +0000 UTCThanks for the reply. The job quitting would be a tough one unless your current career would allow you to get back with the same company or a new one that is looking for your specific skill set. I don't think that hiring another narrator would be the answer, because it is your voice narration that keeps us listening.
Brett_T
2017-05-28 00:50:20 +0000 UTCAll will be revealed
Casefile True Crime
2017-05-28 00:49:45 +0000 UTCHow did you take the news of Ian Brady's passing? After spending the time and energy on him and his crimes, did you have any sort of attachment to him or his story?
Mikki
2017-05-28 00:49:11 +0000 UTCIt actually pretty much is these days :) either work or casefile! But some of my interests/hobbies; I do always find time to watch the NRL though (rugby league). Favourite team roosters. And the UFC. I love music. I play guitar....well played guitar before casefile. Barely picked it up in 18 months. Would be terrible now. love listening to music and podcasts. Reading. Big fan of fitness. Like to train as often as I can. kettlebell workouts are my thing at the moment. And it's great for de stressing from casefile.
Casefile True Crime
2017-05-28 00:49:09 +0000 UTCI girl has to try ;)
Mikki
2017-05-28 00:47:22 +0000 UTCUnsolved cases are particularly frustrating for me to listen to, especially with the EAR. Listening to it though, it seems like there is a lot of physical and DNA evidence. Did something happen to that evidence? Has it been retested?
David Sanocki
2017-05-28 00:44:32 +0000 UTCThat is one of the questions I won't answer sorry. I did specify that in the first AMA but I realise there is a lot of new patrons since then so a lot wouldn't be familiar.
Casefile True Crime
2017-05-28 00:44:00 +0000 UTCWould love too do that. It's always been the aim. But short of getting another narrator it's not going to happen. I struggle finding the time recording the amount of episodes we currently do. Unless I quit my job. Which is something I've given some thought to. But it frightens me. Are people still going to be listening in a year? 2 years? What then. I've quit my job. It's that fear of the unknown. Never even considered another narrator. Just thought of that while responding. Could maybe do a casefile spin off with another narrator. But researched, written and produced by the same team. Would be one way for more episodes. Not sure how it would go.
Casefile True Crime
2017-05-28 00:42:14 +0000 UTCSo outside of true crime, what else is our Host interested in? Star Wars? Hiking? Surfing? Street racing? 😬. We know it's not all Casefile all the time!!
Diana Jacobacci
2017-05-28 00:41:39 +0000 UTCCan I ask what your day job is?
Mikki
2017-05-28 00:40:18 +0000 UTCWith the popularity of Casefile do you envision hiring more staff and turning out more than one episode per week or just keep the status quo?
Brett_T
2017-05-28 00:39:12 +0000 UTCMost of my friends and Probably half of my family. My mum still doesn't know yet (she can't keep a secret)

Casefile True Crime
2017-05-28 00:38:28 +0000 UTCNah I knew there would be. No matter what you do there's going to be some people that are going to hate it. That's life. One of the biggest criticisms in the early days was my boring monotone voice putting people to sleep actually. So It was interesting hearing it swing back the other way.
Casefile True Crime
2017-05-28 00:37:45 +0000 UTCI loved hearing a different side of your work! You really can't do anything wrong when you love what you do.
Mikki
2017-05-28 00:37:26 +0000 UTCWith your download numbers and the quality of your shows it would be an amazing hit. You could become the David Attenborough of the true crime world. 👍
Ryan Beattie
2017-05-28 00:36:31 +0000 UTCWasn't planned though as I said. Just something that ale out while I was recording.
Casefile True Crime
2017-05-28 00:35:41 +0000 UTCImpossible for me to form an objective opinion on. Because I think I suck terribly. I cringe at the sound of my own voice. So I couldn't really tell when I cringed at the voice changes if they were in fact cringe worthy - or if it was just because I find every episode cringe worthy. I went with some opinions on it, we decided to release it. And it definitely got mixed reviews. #voicegate
Casefile True Crime
2017-05-28 00:35:13 +0000 UTCAside from the production team, how many close friends/ family are aware that you're the Host?
Mikki
2017-05-28 00:32:49 +0000 UTCHello! I'm new to Patreon and just wanted to say thanks for the great podcast. You've set the standard so high, it's hard to listen to any others when waiting for new Casefile episodes!

2017-05-28 00:32:45 +0000 UTCThanks - those are great figures and throughly deserved. Love the show.

2017-05-28 00:31:47 +0000 UTCNo not one. That would be awesome. Something I'd definitely be keen on in the future.
Casefile True Crime
2017-05-28 00:31:40 +0000 UTCHaha I never thought of that. It would be a lot of me swearing at my mistakes!
Casefile True Crime
2017-05-28 00:31:02 +0000 UTCJust checked. Yes it's Falconio at 5.2 million. Jennifer Pan second at 4.7 million.
Casefile True Crime
2017-05-28 00:30:07 +0000 UTCA bloopers reel would be amazing! 😍😉
Jamee K
2017-05-28 00:29:29 +0000 UTCThere was a lot of chatter about the voices used for ep. 52--were you surprised by that?
Diana Jacobacci
2017-05-28 00:27:53 +0000 UTCGood evening from Ontario Canada! You've asked our opinion on your voice work, but how did YOU feel about it?? Thank you so much for the efforts you've put into these stories. You really do them justice. Very respectful of the victims. But also extremely informative. Not an easy task.
Mikki
2017-05-28 00:26:54 +0000 UTCI'm sure a lot of people would enjoy hearing it on Casefile. Thanks for answering my question! ❤

2017-05-28 00:26:51 +0000 UTCWhat a great question!
Diana Jacobacci
2017-05-28 00:26:15 +0000 UTCThank you very much Brett. Yeah it's frightening. I can't begin to imigine what it was like living through that. Terrifying.
Casefile True Crime
2017-05-28 00:26:12 +0000 UTCHe is much better looking then me :)
Casefile True Crime
2017-05-28 00:25:28 +0000 UTCI was thinking this too! you had any offers to do voiceover work since the Podcast?
Captain Flint
2017-05-28 00:25:27 +0000 UTCWe have from US and Canadian law enforcement yes. They are generally much more open and willing to talk. Australia it's a bit harder. There are a few cases on the horizon though where we hope to.
Casefile True Crime
2017-05-28 00:24:30 +0000 UTCThank you!
Captain Flint
2017-05-28 00:24:05 +0000 UTCHave you had any offers from Netflix or a tv station to do a True crime tv series? I think it would be a huge success.
Ryan Beattie
2017-05-28 00:23:07 +0000 UTCI would love to do this. But to do it justice I think I'd need months. Probably longer. I have never heard anything about this case other then the documentaries. Which are all pretty one sided. I'm Not suggesting they are incorrect - I have no idea - but I'd love to look at all of the evidence myself and give it the casefile unbiased just the facts treatment. Would really love too given the time.
Casefile True Crime
2017-05-28 00:22:21 +0000 UTCMinneapolis, MN. I'd love to hear the outtakes! Maybe a Patreon episode?
Karen S
2017-05-28 00:18:40 +0000 UTCI'll double check and get back to you before the end of AMA. I think it's Falconio at just over 5 million downloads. But will double check.
Casefile True Crime
2017-05-28 00:18:27 +0000 UTCGreetings Anonymous, not sure why I don't remember the EAR when it was happening, but at this point I kind of glad I didn't, what a sick individual; one can only hope he is rotting away either in jail or with the worms. I can't imagine Anna and the team had an easy time compiling this one. As always the attention to detail and the way you convey the story it's exceptional. Kudos to you and the team.
Brett_T
2017-05-28 00:18:15 +0000 UTCI always have hope. Never say never. It could happen.

2017-05-28 00:17:46 +0000 UTCIf only you could hear the outtakes and mistakes ;) I make a tonne of mistakes. When I do I go back and re record - but I'll re record the whole paragraph which avoids that clipped together sound. I make so many mistakes recording time can be anywhere up to 8 hours or even more for the longer episodes!
Casefile True Crime
2017-05-28 00:17:27 +0000 UTCAnything unsolved I like covering. Trying to bring that attention to it. Also enjoyed north Hollywood shootout as I remember seeing the news coverage when I was a kid. Will Never forget it. Plus only the bad guys died.
Casefile True Crime
2017-05-28 00:15:44 +0000 UTCDefinitely have. Can't say we will do it for sure. But it's in the radar.

2017-05-28 00:14:47 +0000 UTCHi from TN........ so glad that I stumbled onto Casefile, just wish that the team could give us more stories. Unfortunately I understand that the necessities of life MAKE us work just to be able to live..... I hope you don't mind that I "kindly" reference you as Chase. If you have ever picked up on my previous post it is regarding another Aussie named Jesse Spence
Angela Welch
2017-05-28 00:12:54 +0000 UTCDo you get any cooperation from law enforcement ?
David Sanocki
2017-05-28 00:10:46 +0000 UTCCasefile is one of my faves and you are AWESOME. Ever considered covering the West Memphis 3? (Listening from the Washington DC area by the way.)
KimberleeC
2017-05-28 00:09:25 +0000 UTCHello Diana. I posted an add pretty early on at the freelancer site upwork when I realised the sound quality and production was horrendous. Mike answered that add. He stood out from the rest and we have been working together ever since. Vicky and Anna both emailed us asking if there were any opportunities going for writing/research. And andrew was introduced to us by someone from the first add selling agency we signed with. That's how we all came to be together!
Casefile True Crime
2017-05-28 00:09:08 +0000 UTCHello Mr Anon. I was just wondering what has been the most popular episode thus far?
Captain Flint
2017-05-28 00:06:42 +0000 UTCHello from Scotland. Do you think the east area rapist will ever be caught?
Ryan Beattie
2017-05-28 00:06:14 +0000 UTCHi host! I have a question. How are you able to keep the same monotone in every post? I never hear you stumble over a word, take a breath, or even say, "um." Nothing ever sounds clipped together, either. Amazing!
Jamee K
2017-05-28 00:05:51 +0000 UTCHello! What has been your favorite case to cover so far?

2017-05-28 00:05:33 +0000 UTCLove the Podcast, it's my favorite! Anyways have you heard of or considered the Isdal Woman for an episode?
