I discovered Casefile through the East Area Rapist/Original Night Stalker case. I've been researching this case for about eighteen months so was interested to hear the Casefile episode on it and wow, they did a brilliant job. Factually correct and gripping. I agree with Kate and Robert: this is a frightening case, the only one that's ever properly scared me. This guy is a full-on maniac and it really does get much worse. When I first discovered this case I really couldn't believe what I was reading. I'm so glad Casefile are covering it and bringing much needed attention to this case, as this horrifying offender needs capturing/identifying. I love the Casefile podcasts now and have listened to loads since I found out about them; a really superb job done by all!

I agree with Robert. There is just something about this guy. I know it's been 40+ years and he's likely dead/infirm/in prison for something else, but the very possibility that he's still alive and kicking without ever having been caught is horrifying in a way that a lot of true crime stories aren't.

Other episodes really didn't hit home either, they are outstanding and terrifying but distant and really unlikely for me to encounter. This one, though, is frightening. Once again, outstanding work, and I can't thank you enough for telling the story from the victim's point of view. This is a sick individual, and to know he may still be out there is terrifying. Going to listen to Part II during daylight hours, never again at 2 AM.

I have been out of commission due to surgery and Casefile has been a great companion. The pain is bad, I toss and turn, so as a courtesy to my wife I will often head down to my basement office and listen to Casefile and do a little work. Last week's episode, Part 1, may have cured this habit. I have never been afraid of anything, we live in a quiet suburb, but Part I scared the hell out of me. About a half hour in I was checking the windows, and every time I heard a noise it freaked me out. I have enjoyed all of the podcasts, but the closest thing we have to a moor near us is the neighbor who refuses to mow his lawn.
