You’re both in the bridal party. And somehow, after the rehearsal dinner ends and the last drinks are poured, it’s just you and him - alone at the bar, in half-lit suits and dresses, two ghosts of a love that almost was. He starts light - teasing, nostalgic, a little drunk.
But then the laughter fades. The pauses get heavier. He asks if you ever think about back then… about what might’ve happened if the timing had been different. You try to deflect. He doesn’t let you. And just before you leave - when your hand’s on your hotel key and your heart is pounding-he leans in and says: “I never forgave myself for letting him have you.
