Weekly progress report #73

«It's finally summer. Time to get your tan.»

Hello. Time for another progress report. Unfortunately, this one is going to be very bleak.

See, I already wasted, like, half of this month on this stupid walkthrough, and I'm already getting shit for it because it's apparently no better (and actually worse) than the previous one. I'm very sorry, but I just can't seem to get it right. But that's not my biggest worry right now.

I'm feeling very bad lately. The doctors said that aside from being in poor health in general, I suffer from over-fatigue. They told me that if I continue to work 15 hours per day, I'm just gonna die. But this is completely unacceptable, because I only started writing the new demo yesterday, and haven't done much in terms of pictures. So, I'll try to work no more than 10 hours per day, but this will make the future demo significantly thinner than I planned. Hopefully, I'll be able to compensate it in the next one, but as you can understand, with my time, and health constraints, and two separated storylines to fill, this is either gonna be a really short or a really straightforward demo with not much choice. Please, accept my apologies. I've been trying to work my hardest since I started Shattered, but I know some people are still not satisfied with amount, and variety of content I offer. You, as my patrons, have all the rights to demand more, but in times like this I'm forced to give myself some rest. I will try to make the second demo of v0.13 the biggest one up to date though.

So… that's about it. I've been getting a lot of new supports since the release of v0.12, and it pains me to not be able to bring you good news. Hopefully, it will change soon. Thank you very much, and have a nice day.

Please take care of yourself. I am a new patron, but I have fallen in love with this story. as a Trans girl myself, I can really absorb myself in this incredibly detailed world.

Phade102

Take care about yourself. Health is at the first place.

Aurea

Goal one is always "don't die" if you have time to do other things, do some of them too.

Jamie Oaks

I hate to break it to you but I doubt it was the export that did that, the page numbers don't line up in the doc version either.

Wild Bill

I did convert it into pdf, but it fucked up my page numbers, so now the table of contents doesn't fit the numbers.

Yeda Games

Take your time, don't bite off more than you can chew. Your health comes first and do not worry about trying to please everyone all of the time because quite frankly it's an impossible task. Honestly I would be perfectly fine with you not producing the walkthrough guide at all until after the game is completed and you no longer have to juggle both at the same time, it will go through so many iterations between now and then that you are just putting unnecessary burdens onto yourself trying to do both.

Andrew

I think the new walkthrough is fine. Just being able to search it alone is a massive improvement. The only real issue with it which was also there with the old one is when the choices you need to make to see a scene are listed when the scene happens rather than when the choices are made, and since these choices are usually from an earlier version than the scene is in that's not really fixable. All I would really suggest is exporting it as a PDF rather than posting the original doc file, doc files aren't really intended for publishing.

Wild Bill

Don't let the whiners get into your head and your decisions. The walkthrough is far, far more comprehensive than nearly every other one I've seen, and you push larger updates than literally everyone else I support regardless of content type. If people complain about that, then they have absurd expectations. If they stop supporting you because you need to slow down your production, good riddance. You're not a slave to some randos on the internet.

Merlin1941

It's sounds incredible that people would be unhappy with your update frequency and content. I support some 20 or so game developers (sometimes a bit less, sometimes a bit more) but there aren't many, if any, who put out more content than you do. So take it easy. Some people are going to whine regardless, but your health deteriorating isn't going to improve the game or increase the update speed in the long run.

Mr JC

Health always comes first!! Also don't sweat it.. Even if you'd make half the content as you usually do, on monthly basis, that still is more than the majority of other game creators.. Stay safe <3

Go slowly. Your game is great but it's not worth your life

Brian Wellington

Yeah don't kill yourself making this game if you need a break take one we will still pay for your awesome game.

Chris Mobberley

I dunno about other people, but in my mind, killing yourself going to work and making this game is not what anyone wants. I support you because I belive in the game you are making and if takes you longer, so be it. You need to look fter your health.
