Aug UPDATE 2/2 I WAS BORN TO WORK RETAIL

Hi everyone! Welcome to the second Aug update! I've recovered from Covid and have rushed back to finish off the comic. I've caught up with my week of work but because it's late my colorists recieved their linework late too! So all of the comics are now bleeding into the next month.

 Currently there are two finished comics waiting to be colored. These two comics will close out the arc for the manager. I want the story to go back on a more calm pace compared to now. So after these two comics ideally I would come back to more slice of life stuff instead of the heavy drama I've been writing for the best two months.

Thoughts on the current storytelling

Something that stood out the most when writing this arc is how Dream Jenny presents herself. She originally did not have a strong part in this arc, however as time went on, I found her insane personality perfect to narrate certain important scenes. Like some type of crazy all seeing spirit that only real Jenny can see.

I also think this solves a lot of issues Jenny has as a character. She's boring af. She's miserable for most of the comic and it really gets tiring to feel sorry for her. Having a permanent companion who is an extention of her personality in a more "positive" way I hope fixes a lot of those issues. I will try and judge in the future and see if this fixes her or was only a bandaid solution.

Zoey is written in a way I do like. I just think her design is slightly boring. I need to give her a motif, like how Jenny has her goldfish.

Manager Isssue

I dont know what to do with him.

I feel like I've written myself in a corner lmao

He was never supposed to have this much impact on the story, but as the story went on, he seems to be a fan favourite character. I like what I'm doing with his story, but I doing know what to do with him after the current arc. You'll see what I'm talking about when the comic releases but holy shit he goes through such a spin it's really hard to unspin the guy back to normal.

 So currently the plan for the comic is to wait for these pages to be colored, which will take about a week. Haqve 4-5 side mini stories to cool things down a bit after all this, then ramp it back to 100% with another arc later on down the line. Something really impactful to either Zoey or Jenny.

The ending for the current arc is also a really nice spring board for Zoey's character arc as well. I hope you all enjoy it :)

Future Plans

The website has been up and running smoothly after the tests and I'm confident to launch the site offically soon. Right now it's publically accessable, but I need to make a promotion for the site. So When I have most of the Koishi Project out of the way, I will start dedicating time to make an animated trailer for the future.

Right now I will find a weekend or something and draft out a storyboard for all of this.
