JANUARY UPDATE 2/2 I Was Born To Work Retail

Hey! Hi! Welcome to 2024 I Was Born To Work Retail here's what's planned and what's in progress so far!

Currently if you've noticed the coloring is slightly different, that's because https://twitter.com/kaliistic is now my colorist! Which leaves me a lot more time to work on the story itself and the linework. 

Balancing the comic with the animation is my crucible. When it's all done and finished I'll finally find my peace of mind.

Story Progress

Zoey and Tommy desperately try to reconcile things with Jenny after how the last story ended by playing into Jenny's fish interests. Jenny accepts it because she feels sorry about their attempt, and genuinely wants to make things better.

The manager opens a new milk formula campaign to prompt more traffic into the store. Opening up a new chapter in "Nothing But Bliss" convience store's lifetime.

Currently there's 3 character arcs throughout the entire baby formula arc, I have brief ideas and I'll slowly lay them out for all of you to see.

Story Arc (The Baby Formula Arc)

• Set up back to a more slice of life tone, giving ease to the story and fleshing out the world more.
• Setting up new characters to be introduced into the story and to have more of an impact to Jenny's life
• Establish the company more than just a setting
• Set up the proper antagonist of the story to be introduced in full in the next arc

Jenny's Arc

• Jenny struggling with her own identity and snapping out of her conformity from working retail.
• Jenny establishes unhealthy habits on self care, tries to drink for a while.
• Jenny getting introduced to a newer character, lured into doing 
• Build more into Jenny's fish passion

Zoey's Arc

• Build more into Zoey's motivations and backstory
• Establish Zoey's role in the store, into why she's forced to work there
• Tying up the cliffhanger in Arc 1
• Building up Zoey as a version of Jenny, but a more ruthless, more hurt version of her in a different way

Tommy's Arc

• Tommy is a good boy and wants to go home and pet his dog

The baby formula conspiracy is a play on the 2008 Chinese milk scandal which prompted a massive influx on mainland chinese visitors into Hong Kong.

Webtoons Original

The Webtoons Original launch is now scheduled to be in mid April!! Right now I'm just setting everything up under NDA (sigh). Everything will be out then though!
