A small Q&A session about the story
Added 2019-12-29 22:05:32 +0000 UTCWhile my computer is working on a new render, I have some time to answer some of the question I've encountered in other places, or reviews, or whatnot. I think it would be nice. I also would like to thank all of you for supporting me. Honestly, before setting up this page I was very anxious, thinking that whatever I'm making is garbage and nobody is gonna like it. But as long as there's at least one person besides me, who enjoys Shattered, it's all worth it.
Let's go.
— «What significance do versions have?»
I'm trying to make every new version of Shattered as an episode of sorts. That means that 0.1 has an arc, 0.2 is having an arc as well, and all the future updates are gonna be small stories inside of a bigger story. And of course every single one of them is going to end with a cliffhanger. Now, each of the early new versions is supposed to give each of the main routes an equal amount of content. Meaning: if Melinda isn't getting more than just one scene, Samuel ain't gonna be lucky either. However, it will change with the time, as one version might be Rebecca-heavy, next one is going to focus on Liam more, so every character will get their big chunk. The order of priorities is going to be decided thorugh polls.
— «Is the game linear and if yes, will it stay this way?»
The answer would depend on your definition of «linear». Shattered's story isn't exactly a branch, it's more of a braid. That means that Blake is a pretty much a sitcom character. He has to start in some place and in the end return to it. How he manages to do that, however, is up for you to decide. And the significance of your choices will rise gradually, but inevitably. I'll give you an example: imagine if your Blake is on hard Samuel route. One day Samuel shows up and takes you on a voyage. That means that until this «episode» ends, you're gonna see Blake in a bikini getting fucked on a beach, Blake in a cocktail dress getting fucked in a dance club's bathroom, Blake in handcuffs getting fucked in a hotel room, you get the idea. But if you're on a soft route (let alone not on Samuel route at all), you can decline and spend the rest of an «episode» licking Melinda's shoes, or going to a bachelorette party with Rebecca, or meeting up with Liam's best friend, who is a glorious shemale. That's how it should work.
— «Will it ever finish?»
Well, it's really early to tell, but I'm gonna say this: Shattered itself should go as long as I'm capable of doing so, but this very chapter of the story is going to eventually end. I want Shattered 1.0 to give Blake release from Melinda's reign and let him start all over again. However! It's only my vision. I'm going to let you decide the way some crucial story moments are resolved. And that's what those «special story polls» from the Wicked Maid tier mean.
Well, this is it. I told that it's gonna be small. You got some other questions? Ask here! Regardless if they are related to the story or not.
Comments
Thanks for the question! :) Back in the day I used to play a lot of HTML transformation games. Namely, Perverted Education, and Secretary which dealt with the whole «forced feminisation» idea, and followed the main character through the journey towards femininity. And I liked it. But I had two issues which I personally found disappointing: the lack of personality from the hero (he's basically an item. It's important for me because I like being able to compare «now» with «then», and it's hard to do when there's no actualy character development), and the fact that he/she is never happy with the ending result. Humiliation is fine, but I wanted my Blake to be a happy girl in the end. So, those were my original two things that I was hoping to see in my game. Actually coming up with the details, and the setting took me almost two years, and I went through several different ideas before I stumbled over what eventually became Shattered. And yes, I was working all by myself back then, and still do now :)
