Weekly Progress Post

Hello! Hope you're having a good weekend.

From now on every Sunday I'm gonna post a detailed progress report regarding the new versions. As we're currently approaching Shattered 0.2, I feel that we need to talk about what's going to happen next and what's the general tone of this update.

First, the numbers. Shattered 0.1 included ~3500 lines of dialogue, while Shattered 0.2 is going to have around 70% more, 6000 lines might not look impressive, but that's almost 70000 words in total! So far it's moving relatively well, as I've already written about 15% of lines in final draft and 35% more in rough.

Now, this chapter itself is more or less focusing on developing our characters. I already said that we're gonna be introduced to 4 new side characters, and I'm going to tell you about them in details later, but you should know, that each one of them is going to represent some of the fetishes that I couldn't «fit» in the main ones. Plus, they're pretty diverse and I would like to give you aesthetic choices.

As for Blake himself, he is still getting used to this whole situation. Expect him to complain a lot about Melinda's orders, Rebecca's insolence, short skirt and tight shoes. He's not quite the girl we all want him to be yet.

Now, there's also one reintroduced character, some of you might not want to see. The way I'm trying to build Shattered is to give you an impression of an actual living world. While Blake spends most of his days inside the mansion, there are some things happening outside, which might seriously affect his life later. Which is why 0.2 is going to include a special fourth wall breaking character, who is going to talk to you, the player, directly. About the Divide, Blake's biography, and just some things in general. And yes, he'll keep appearing in later versions as well. Of course, if you don't want to break the immersion, you can just ignore his scene entirely, but some of you (depending on your route) will find a little erotic surprise in his dialogue. Something from Blake's past. This event is already completely finished.

So overall I rate the progress as good. I'm able to spend a lot of time on development right now, and it does bear some fruits. I'm going to post a special picture for Nonchalant Maid tier patrons as a tease, and hope you'll stay tuned for the further reports.
