its mech time

the past little while ive been cooking up a mech oc that im intending to throw at green (and hopefully ill make more ocs in the coming year as well, since i Do need to learn how to play tuoys with myself instead of relying on my friend's ocs. as fun as it is.) this is One of the final results of this, a mech named aegis :3 no timelapses here bc i started these before i decided i wanted to reboot this page oops

im still fleshing out the worldbuilding (maybe a bit too much LOL), but he's a mech with sorta titanfall-style sapience that allows for better coordination with pilots. problem is, he's a part of a major oligarchical power in a deeply dystopian US that's taking aim at a newly socialist canada, and mechs that deviate into other paths of thinking are reset, and their pilots often terminated...

aegis was one of the lucky ones to escape. he learned how to be sneaky, as did his previous pilot, but the latter was killed before they could both make a run for it. aegis did eventually escape later on, promising to find better handlers who would help stop this pointless war. 

he eventually makes it across the border and lands in the hands of the canadian shield alliance, a independent militia and aid organization with a mission to protect the nation's diversity, support first nations reconciliation and reclamation, and push the country past its imperialist roots, among other goals that i haven't fleshed out yet. he's repainted, refitted and assigned a pilot to bond with; green reinhart, a skilled man with a kind heart and a rage to match.

it's here where aegis finds his name and identity; he's hurt, but driven, wanting to make up for the past he's been made to act on as well as avenge his last pilot. though he's fitted with new gear and weapons, most of his missions are calm and benign-- he and green spend a lot of time assisting in post-battle cleanup in communities and cities across the country.

green often finds himself coming back around to bond with aegis more, even when he's just sitting in the hangar. they watch movies, browse the internet, listen to music; sometimes aegis will even hijack the base's service drones to socialize. and over time, as the bond of pilot and mech deepens, something else begins to grow....

oh man this turned into a big ramblr OOPS but um. i'm gonna be doing some more doodles of this guy soon to show how his weapons n wings work before i start postin him publicly. maybe some gay doodles too. who knows
