Ok but WHAT SCENE FROM PRIDE AND PREJUDICE? WHAT SCENE??? Obviously that makes all the difference. (Super fun fact that I share with everyone all the time: Eddie Redmayne said that part of the audition for Kylo Ren was a reading of Darcy’s confession in P&P. This is my favorite thing to have ever happened.) (Another fun fact for anybody here who cares about random cool shit: that scene happens in the third “volume” of the novel, and novels were originally published in (typically three) volumes because that would allow libraries to loan different parts of a book to different people at the same time. Which was kind of important when a library would probably only have a single copy of a book.) As beautiful as some of the scenes in Pride and Prejudice are, though, I’m going to make an appeal for Persuasion. Highly underrated. It was Austen’s last (completed) novel before her death, so she’s at the top of her game, and I think you could do justice to its depth of feeling, which is covered pretty well here: https://www.vox.com/platform/amp/culture/2017/2/14/14598536/persuasion-jane-austen-most-romantic-love-scene-letter-valentines-day (Though the note there about her being a “spinster” at 27 is false, since that was historically the average age of first marriage for the majority of women. I know I’m late to the party here, and I have no complaints as one of the people who requested a tour behind the scenes, but I have to make a push for my girl Anne Elliot. Not that I can complain about P&P. But, like… Persuasion…

I think reading an excerpt of Wuthering Heights would be amazing. I’m not sure which part I’d recommend as it’s been a minute since I’ve read it. You’ve shown in a lot of your audios that you do fabulously with conveying emotions (such as frustration and irritation) in a more restrained way and in a way that a lot of other VA’s and narrators struggle to do well. I think you could really do justice to the complexity of the characters and storyline. That being said.. I’d happily listen to you read a shopping list 🤷‍♀️

Omg I love all these options! Especially the first three. I've always been interested in the behind the scenes process for VAs, how you guys make sound effects, what props you use, how you play around with making diff sounds--that whole process is fascinating to me. Kinda reminds me of Foley art. TV shows and reacting to what voices you sound like are super fun topics so I hope you end up making these in the future too!
