New Walls, 100amp Service, and Air Conditioning

Just yesterday, I finished up installing the new MRCOOL mini split system in the garage!

This is, and I cannot stress this enough, very cool.

At this point, there's zero rotting wood, more than enough electrical power to build out the shop with whatever tools I need, and the heat of one thousand suns no longer present inside the building. But it's still super messy πŸ˜…

I'm at a point in the project where I'd maybe feel happy ending this next episode, but I'm not 100% sure.

There's obviously some huge milestones hit and the structure changed so much, but honestly the inside of the garage feels the exact same as before, except for the one corner that's insulated and painted.

Finishing the rest of the interior means installing the rest of the OSB panels, but I can't do that until I purchase and install more insulation, but I can't do that until I finish the rest of the electrical, but I can't do that until I choose, purchase, and figure out where I'll install more windows... and so on and so forth with so many little things like that.

I want this next episode to feel super triumphant with a very stark contrast between the before and after (meaning a beautiful fully painted inside), that just means more money and time.

I feel like it would be worth it, but what do you think?

Releqse video at this point

Tom

I'd say continue your build-out in-full and focus only on milestone pictures like these - when you do eventually get around to doing the next video do time lapses of before/after

Joseph Piarulli

Glad to see this progress going on. Gonna be cool once this is completely done if you can add a 2-post to do some serious automotive work

Joseph Piarulli

I second this

John Workman

I have a desire for a video sooner, but I understand the desire for quality. It would be nice to have some in between videos in the meantime, something small like running a checkup on all your already running vehicles or the like

John Workman

Just seeing this!! Everything is looking great! And now with a working split a/c unit! You can get more done!!! Super job, as always!

Julie Finger

I think you should try to do fairly regular posts. Not daily, but at least once a month. I also think a short clip between the two episodes might help get excited. Your last video was well done intensive Ed and and jokes, but I think there's a balance between prep time and extended delays.

Brian Gaun

You doing ok this hurricane?

Josh and Justina

Post the video now and leave us wanting more :-D

Lisha Payne

Ya did it! I feel like getting the garage back enclosed is more than enough of a milestone for an episode, and I feel insulation and paint should be enough for another.

Great Joe

Looking good there Ronnie. I bet you're relieved to get that air con.

Charles Paxford

Just like I said, Hunter Direction. Just search for that on YouTube, his channel comes up.

Kathryn Fortunato

Gotta say, not a fan of that idea. The investment into making good shorts and TikToks apparently is huge and the return minimal. Plus you'd be feeding into the diminishing of attention spans and viewers from shorts and tiktoks don't translate into long form viewers far as I've heard. That being said, it's your content Ronnie and I've loved every piece of it so far. So go for it, if you feel like it.

Communidad

Looking great, you should be very proud of yourself. As for the video, I'm happy to wait so you can complete it and we all have a satisfying climax at the end but that being said, you'll probably get more youtube revenue by releasing multiple videos up to this point, which will help you to buy the additional materials you need to get the project over the line. So the question is, do you want to give us blue balls or a climax? πŸ˜‚

Wavey

I’m interested in checking out these videos. Who is the creator?

Sam Stone

you've always been one to take your time to make a product that not only you but everyone is satisfied with. I waited for the the fiero videos. I waited for the motorcycle videos. I can wait for this one. Keep up the good work!

George

Looking good Ron... Tons of work!!!

Kevin

Great job, a long time coming. Glad to see the progress. I know it’s alot of hard work.

Ghost Dog314

Definitely a video in between. Don't want to see this turn into a Project Binky situation where you feel like it needs to be perfect before releasing an update

Caleb Merriott

Loving the work so far! Would love an update, but am patient to wait too!

John Rambo

I'm with others - it might make just as much financial sense to post an update video. No flash, honest title, you get some views and people get their updates. Hunter Direction did what, like 10 videos on his garage and they're freaking art. I ate them up.

Kathryn Fortunato

Selfishly, i would like a update episode for the youtube and then have a finale episode for it being finished.

Tyler King

Can’t wait for the video I love garageman

dennis quiad

Looks good πŸ‘πŸ». Greetings from the Netherlands πŸ‘‹πŸ»

Eric Zaagman

Strictly from a financial standpoint: the finishing touches are expensive, as well as time consuming. I can see the narrative being better with the garage fully finished, but... What garage is ever finished? Maybe recoup some time and money with an upload, the semi-finished corner could also act as a nice cliffhanger for the future. :)

Alexander Bloedbarsch

I was originally rooting for the garage project as a means to the Datsun overhaul beginning in earnest, but this has been genuinely entertaining on its own, so...soft launch Workshop Simulator 2025 Tournament Edition?

Corey Pietrzak

The Garage of Theseus! Looks great! Definitely wait until it's more or less finished to release a video. A grand reveal would be very satisfying after a longer video.

Ross W

Also 100 amps! How incredible. I'm very envious of that. Will make tools like a welder, mill, lathe, so many things viable if you every go that route

Nubbles

Looks great!

Peter Pociask

With that said, you could try more Shorts and TikToks.

Joe Crain

I like your vision of having a huge triumph at the end. At the same time I also think it would work just fine to have a video of the almost complete, then a final video going from that almost done to fully buttoned up. Might be able to be more detailed about the various sections of it was broken up that way. And if uploads give you a spike of Patreon money (they may not have much of an effect, idk) I also think it would be worth two videos if the timing of the two would help fund the finishing of the garage. But most of all I want you to make the video you want to make, telling the story you want to tell

Nubbles

You've made a lot of progress. Would love to see the challenges you faced and solved. I know you want the triumphant win but what you have accomplished can be motivating for others to conquer their projects. Whatever you choose to do, we support you. #KeepUpTheGoodFight #ShopGreatness

Joe Crain

Makes sense to wait til the end. It will make a much better video with the big reveal.

Jim Kozlowski

The garage is looking amazing, especially with what you started with. AC is going to be a game changer in Texas.

Richard Farmer

Looks great. Before you start hanging the pink stuff, have you considered closed cell foam? It's a little pricier but it makes a world of difference. There are DIY kits but the pros would be in and out of there in a few hours.

Chris Popovic

I agree for a full episode I think it's best to have that big wow factor, and helps with a few cheeky transitions. Having said that I'm having withdrawal symptoms from no content so maybe a patreon update video or something to keep me sane

Stuart Kay

I also feel like it will be worth it personally; You dived into this head to toe, and I think finishing off the video with a complete workshop will be a great way to entertain us and the subscribers. And I'm sure people will not mind the longer wait if it means great success! :)

Siwek

I think we can wait for finished episode. You could if you have time of course give some short sneak peaks into what is going on in blog style πŸ˜ƒ

Jakub Urbanski

Personally, I think your audience would enjoy uploads much more frequently with smaller progress but I know you like to have the "perfect" video before releasing them. You gotta do what makes you happy.

Sam Stone

It looks awesome so far, Ronnie! I can't wait to see the next video.
