Worldbreaker - Magic Item

πŸŒŒπŸ”¨βš›οΈ In the boundless tapestry of the cosmos, amid twinkling stars and swirling galaxies, whispers tell of the Worldbreaker. It's said this majestic warhammer was birthed in the celestial forge of a god, not as a tool of creation, but as a testament to the indomitable might of the universes it encompasses. Each swing of the Worldbreaker is a cataclysm, a symphony of creation and devastation that echoes through the astral plains and material worlds alike.

The hammer was forged not of iron or steel, but from the core essence of dying stars and the breath of celestial beings, masterfully crafted in a place where the veil between the material world and the astral plane is as thin as a whisper. The undulating energies of myriad galaxies are imprisoned within its unyielding iron, bound by enchantments that tether the tumultuous power of creation itself.

In a long-forgotten epoch, celestial smiths, aided by the blessings of a deity who observed creation and decay in equal measure, attempted to contain the essence of the universe within a weapon, hoping to understand the enigma of existence. The result was the Worldbreaker, a weapon that not only harnessed the cataclysmic might of the cosmos but also bore witness to its infinite beauty and unyielding chaos.

It was said that those who wielded the Worldbreaker were burdened with visions of worlds yet unborn and stars yet to die, forever haunted by the unending cycle of creation and devastation. To hold such power was to commune with the gods themselves, to be unmade and reborn in every moment, an experience that only the strongest souls could endure without being consumed. πŸŒŒπŸ”¨βš›οΈ

Worldbreaker

Weapon (warhammer), artifact (requires attunement)

Worldbreaker, birthed at the soul forge from the heart of spiraling galaxies, wields the primordial might to command the rhythms of existence.

You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. When you hit with Worldbreaker, the target and each creature within 5 feet of it take an additional 2d8 force damage, and you can choose to push the target and each affected creature up to 10 feet away from you.

Creation and Cataclysm. Worldbreaker has 10 charges. As an action, you can expend 1 charge to swing the warhammer in a grand, celestial arc, tapping into the energies of creation and cataclysm encapsulated within. All creatures of your choice within 5 feet of you must make a Constitution saving throw (DC 20). On a failure, a creature takes 8d10 force damage and is stunned until the end of your next turn. On a success, a creature takes half as much damage and isn’t stunned. Worldbreaker regains expended charges when taken to the Astral Plane and bathed in the cosmic energies there for an uninterrupted 24 hours.

Unattuned Torment. Any creature attempting to wield Worldbreaker without being attuned is immediately paralyzed and must roll a natural 20 on a Constitution saving throw at the end of each of its turns to end the condition.

Cosmic Smithing. If you are proficient with smith's tools, you can use Worldbreaker to forge a melee weapon infused with cosmic energy. To do so, you must have access to a forge and materials worth at least 500 gp, which the weapon consumes. Over the course of 48 uninterrupted hours, you can utilize the latent cosmic energies within Worldbreaker to create a melee weapon of your choice. The resulting weapon is a +2 weapon and deals an additional 1d8 force damage on a hit.

Celestial Craftsmanship. With proficiency in smith's tools and access to a celestial forge, you can harness Worldbreaker's cosmic potency to forge a melee weapon of astronomical might. Engaging in a ritual that spans 96 continuous hours and utilizing materials worth at least 25,000 gp, which are consumed in the process, you weave the boundless celestial energies into your creation. The weapon forged thus becomes a +3 weapon, delivering an additional 2d8 force damage with each successful hit.

Random Properties. The Worldbreaker harbors the following cosmic-imbued properties:

Destroying the Worldbreaker. To dismantle the cosmic might of the Worldbreaker, it must be taken to the soul forge where it was conceived. A creature, whose intentions and deeds are pure, must strike the artifact upon the mythical anvil, using a hammer wrought from the soul of a celestial being who has offered it willingly.
