Rabbit Onesie

Dear Insane Children,

Omri's back with a revision of the Rabbit outfit. This time it's a onesie! And, yes, it can come in orange.

Give us your feedback and suggestions in the comments below.

Keep in mind that these images are Work In Progress

Also WIP is the concept that we might attach this in-game clothing item to the physical White Rabbit Plush - as in, "You need to purchase the Plush in order to unlock the in-game clothing."

I've seen more than a few strongly emotional reactions to the idea of exclusive DLC linked to a real world item. Not sure I fully understand what's going on there... seems there's a fear of missing out (for people in the future who weren't aware of this deal when it was proposed)? Also some sense of wanting to complete all the acquisition of stuff in-game but not wanting to participate in the collection of physical items outside of the game?

I am uncertain how this squares with how we presented the Chaos Coins... those to are physical items with exclusive in-game content attached. And I don't recall any sort of negative reaction to those.

Anyway, it's not yet decided... so let's discuss the issue and come to some sort of resolution. I'd like to be able to link physical items with in-game items... and would like to have some understanding of your sense of "bad" ways to do this... and good solutions as well. Thanks!

Patron "Fred and Desiree" shared this mock-up of a Rabbit Onesie over on our Community Page. If you have ideas, you can always share them there. We love seeing the creativity of our community!

Only 500 To Go

We're only 500 Patrons away from unlocking the White Rabbit Plush Collector Set and adding about 50~100 new Patrons per day. Spread the word! If we keep up this pace we can unlock the reward this month. Yay!

omg make the onesie a real onesie... would totally get behind that hah

Cute!!

I've never really had an issue with having to purchase a physical item to get DLC. This may be because I play ffxiv a lot and square enix has several items like that; However, those items are purely cosmetic. I think a lot of people may have a problem with it because it gives a power they wouldn't otherwise have access too. I know in the previous game all the DLC dresses gave different powers or had different status effects. If you were to include the dlc with the rabbit plus, in my opinion, it may be better if it didn't affect gameplay. Then it may not cause as many issues down the road if people are no longer able to obtain it. Maybe the dress version could be included with the game, so everyone has access to the power. Then the dlc could change the appearance of the dress to the onesie. I'm not sure how I feel about the onesie though. I think it's a cool idea especially if you created a physical version for purchase, but I dont know if it fits Alice. If you were to stick with the idea, I prefer Omri's design.

"...*Can come in orange.." XD XD XD

I'm conflicted :\ I love the rabbit dress and would love to see it in the game somehow, even if it's purely for aesthetics, but for the purpose proposed previously (as a way to sort of get around ignored by enemies) the onesie is thematically better. Being able to switch between them as a sort of active/inactive effect would be interesting but possibly too powerful. And unless it's a specific level where you need to sneak around, I can't see the onesie really adding anything other than a chore of changing wardrobe, for probably short stints, then changing back to something more useful. Given the above, I also feel something like a rabbit item that could be used to transform into a sort of wonderland styled rabbit (possibly into something like the onesie) until your charge gauge(whatever it may be) runs out would be a better tool for gameplay; giving a hide-in-plain-sight stealth mechanic throughout the game, but being a choice for the player rather than a requirement.

I really like the onsie redesign, making it more Victorian underwear and less modern day onsie is a smart visual choice.

I adore both the onesie and the dress, I think it would be interesting if they could change from one to the other. As for the real like item equals game item what if people who don’t buy the rabbit have to collect a certain amount of rabbit related things in the game? They could still get it but Patreons would have a bit of an edge

I liked the dress far more.... Hope its still an option.

That looks adorable. It is a little busty for her age though, no?

In my opinion there are two points people don't complain about the chaos coin: First the coin grant no "real" ingame content, it's more like credits for the patreons. Second (and bigger) point. You didn't call it DLC, this acronym triggers many people out there. Now to the onesie. It doesn't fit on Alice in my eyes, I think she should wear dresses.

Its fine if patrons for the plush rabbit get the dress/onesie for 'free' if they are put on sale as a dlc for around 5bucks too (atleast thats how much kf2's cosmetic character packs cost) About the abilities/buffs the dlc costumes would give should be less than 10% if those are considered to be put in.

That onesie from Fred and Desire is so amazing! It's the perfect cross over between circus and victorian alice! And i think the idea to have a limited dress only for the people who buy the White Rabbit it's ok, i guess. It's sad for does who don't have a lot of money to spend and for does who in the future didn't know about the deal (maybe just keep the deal going forever if that is a option- buy the white rabbit in mysterious , have the dress) , but it's not a super important thing so it's not really a bad thing. You can still play the game and already have a lot of other dresses to choose so not having one it doesn't make me mad or anything :)

Really love the idea of in-game items together with physical ones(especially after the first one = CHAOS COIN). It is something special to be a part of this game, for sure you have even the biggest part of all the whole development process. But I/we can be part of something in the game which makes it totally special and individual for us (: Games are a timeless medium and I even play today your first Alice game (: which never becomes boring. If we now imagine to play the new game and see our names on the ChaosCoin or something else it would be a really proud and nice moment (: because we can say that we was a little bit involved in the creative part + process (: BTW I really love the second rabbit dress and the different eye colours (: Especially the back of the dress looks nice with the scull silhouette on her head and in my mind the look + colour combinate look a little bit more identical like real one. Nice bunny greetings from Berlin (:3

The problem I have with the onesie is that it doesn't really feel Victorian, which is the feel you get with the original rabbit dress (although the ears need work) and the version by Fred and Desiree, which I really like. Someone mentioned that the Fred and Desiree dress is too old for 13 year old Alice, so maybe Shadow Alice (mind you, she's 13, too) or adult Alice could wear it, instead.

I love being able to get an in-game item when I buy the White Rabbit. It makes everything (game & plush) just that much cooler!

The dresses are my favourite part of the game, but I guess a onesie or like a pants-shirt outfit would bring a fresh wind in the game, besides that there already is the rabbit dress. And you guys already pulled out amazing dress designs anyway! The reaction is most likely that people fear missing some stuff, I have had the same issue too when you like something and then you miss the opportunity to collect something from it... feels quite bad.

I love the onesie's design! It looks like the ears will be able to move and that makes me so happy. I also like the added detail of the stains. I do wish the ears were a bit thinner though. Especially since another comment I read pointed out that the head looks a bit phallic shaped and now I can't unsee it :( I feel like the onesie matches the rabbit plush a lot more and gives Alice a more child-like look. I like the idea of exclusive DLC being provided when you purchase the rabbit, especially since the outfit is being designed to match it. I understand people feeling like they might miss out if they don't buy the rabbit plush, which is why i'm also in favour of having a different coloured version of the outfit (Not orange though. Light brown with pink patches or pink with white patches would work better) available through another method e.g a secret unlocked in the base game or DLC that will always be purchasable.

To say that I much preferred the previous desing would be an understatement haha. The previous dress just might be my favorite of all the dresses. The onesie design might be the only one I do not actually like ^^' The difference in response to the coin and plushie is the difference between the value of the in game item. The in game coin only matters to the people with their message on it, the dress is something everyone wants to have.

I think that both are great, and for a reward for having the bunny as a physical item they are both great!

I'll be honest with all respect to the author. I never liked these kind of dresses for Alice, maybe they are for the cosplayers. But I don't see any problems with use them as buying physical items to get a DLC.

The onesie looks great (adore the combat boots) BUT those ears just look strange to me. I like the idea of floppy ears but think these are much too wide. SUGGESTION I think the ears from the mock-up would look much better on Omris onesie. Now speaking of that Mock-up..waaay too adult for our young Alice, it is an awesome costume for the older Alice though 😜

I think the difference between the chaos coin and the onesie is that with the coin people who got it could add something to the game, but once the game is made there will be no difference for the people playing it whether they got the coin or not. The dress is something that people won't get to enjoy when playing if they didn't buy the bunny plush. I think the controversy may be less if the plush dress was in the game normally and buying the plushie bunny unlocked a variant with a different color scheme or something. It would be functionally identical just slightly different aesthetics.

I love the dress Omri did previously, and I do like this concept, except I'd maybe like to see a slightly different hood/ear combo? I understand it's modelled after the plush, to be attached to the plush, but the hood/ears seem a tad too bulky on her head. Maybe if a little inspiration was taken from the Fred and Desiree version? I feel like the hood/ears on that version suits a little better.

I think the Onesie is a phenomenal choice for a dress, especially considering we’re dealing with a child Alice. I think it coincides with your statement of, “taking comfort in her plush” reflects really well on the idea of her trying to shelter herself (or at the very least “soften the blow”) from all of the destruction, again especially since she is a child. I would love a deeper connection with the rabbit plush, considering how vital the rabbit has been to all Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland; as much as I loved rabbit in the games being the representation of the loss of her family, I always felt disappointment in his lack of involvement in the games: this could be a great way to change that in the newest game. I think the backlash for this vs the chaos coins may be that cosmetic choices, especially dresses in these games, are very important to people and they care a lot about how their character looks, and they don’t want to miss out on something like this simply because they couldn’t shell out the money, or simply didn’t know about this until it was too late. Having the Easter Egg of the in game chaos coin is great, but the projection of yourself into the protagonist you play and emotional connection you feel to them can be very intertwined with their appearances, especially if you can choose. I think people just don’t want to miss out on the possibility of a further connection with our protagonist. But I love the onesie and I support it! <3

I would buy this in a heartbeat.

I'm perfectly on board with the DLC coming with the Plushie purchase. I'm reminded of Devolver. They had, in my opinion, the most entertaining presentation at last year's E3. I don't know if it's sill available, but they sold a Minit plushie on their website for about 25 USD. The plushie came with a scratch-off code on a tag. The code gave you a free download of the entire game on Steam.

I adore the previous dress concept a little bit more. I've always loved Alice in her beautiful dresses. However, being able to able to switch to the onsie would be an amazing way to incorporate both outfits. Especially for those who have also bought a plush. On that note, I am with what you said about linking physical items to in-game items. It is an exclusive dress in a single-player game that comes as a special bonus that directly correlates to a physical item you own. If you could just get it from a generic DLC; it wouldn't be that much of a unique add-on to include with the plush anymore. Just my two-cents. Those who missed out will have plenty of other incredible designs to choose from.

Fred and Desiree's design is spot on. Absolutely love it if you wanted to go that onesie direction for the outfit. However, comparing the 3 of these, I love Omri's dress alone the most, but hate the ears. Even on this Omri onesie design, they are too large and close together at the center of the head. Just like the rabbit ears for Omri's dress design from yesterday on the Facebook post, someone in the comments mentioned that it gives her head a phallic shape that now I can't unsee everytime I look at it and the omri onesie design.

I also don't alunderstand the whole hubub about an exclusive dress. Especially if it was under $5. I get eight now games like fallout 47 and a bunch of others have insane amount of dlc and micro transactions but this is a mostly cosmetic item and so far the only paid for one in the game iirc. As for the inside I'm not the biggest fan of the bump out tail, I didn't see the other onsies but why would it be orange

I love this onsie over the dress. I think the length of the ears are a bit awkward though. Maybe possibly make them longer and the tail bigger? As for the DLC thing, I can see why people complain about having to shell out the extra money later on for the game bc of the idea of paying more for a game v. paying now while also helping game development. But I don’t see a problem with it personally. I like DLC’s bc personally I think you can almost modify the game to what you like? Like I have all the DLC’s for the entire Borderlands Series (steam sale), and one or two Destiny DLC’s from back when I really like it. I like the idea of buying the plush to unlock content in the game. Kind of like the amiibo thing Nintendo does.

I love it except I do wish that the ears were a bit smaller, maybe poking up some and bunny slippers I think would be adorable.

I love that you can see her red socks and undershirt sleeves. Seems more child-like and innocent.

I think people are just sick of having to pay extra money for bonus content when video games are released, so the difference between paying $100 for a game that already costs $80 vs. donating extra to help get a game made gets lost on them. BTW the onsie needs some more WIPing but is a great idea.

Much improved over the previous version The eyes are especially good-one dark one light. I like the color contrasts, black boots, red socks, white trouser legs. The ears are much improved. I'd like to see them a little longer, though. Maybe coming down to the level where her elbows are now.

I am personally more of a fan of the dress design. The design itself feels like it is too different from the styles of all the other outfits. Also to me it kinda looks like the bride of Frankenstein running around in pajamas, but that could just be me.

Also, with DLC/product that has in game contet included? Maybe sell them as collector items, maybe as bundles with the game(?) as well? That way people that maybe aren’t Patreon supporters can still get the DLC, and the physical item! And with things like the Coin, maybe sell less “personalized” ones as just collectors pieces, that don’t include the in game thank you, that way, Patrons still get their special thank you, and people that like collecting can still get their items! Or, for people that don’t want to buy the physical plush bunny, then maybe sell DLC codes, for a little more than a normal DLC price, due to the fact that it was meant to come with the plush

Anyways, can't wait to draw some fan art ^0^

I love this outfit. As for unlocking the DLC, it makes sense to me as a person who plays Final Fantasy XIV. There are IRL items that will give you an exclusive DLC code for a minion related to your IRL purchase.

I think, to go along with the “dresses that have two styles” have the onesie (above), as the normally unlocked dress that comes with the plush, and then maybe have it to where you unlock the “Plush Dress” upgrade/second version later on, I personally find the Onsie to be almost too cute, for the generally dark, and morbid world upheld in previous games

I love it

Lucas Severin

YES PLEASE a cozy/slightly baggy onesie. I want Alice to feel safe and cute!! 💕💕🐰 I love this idea sooo much!

Omri’s onesie is my favorite of the three designs. The Fred and Desiree onesie has better ears, but is in general a bit too skin tight for young Alice I think. As for exclusive content, I think outfits and weapons, things that directly contribute to the player’s expression of themselves while playing and affect gameplay, are more likely to cause people to be upset about having to pay for them and/or lose access to their chance to get them before the game has even been released. Maybe we could make it a smaller part of the outfit that becomes customizable? Like we could have a onesie with rabbit slippers but only the onesie with boots can be unlocked in-game?

Wow I really love this design

Antonio Pacheco

I love this SO SO SO much better than the other outfit, sorry Omri. The ears are less like giant skin flaps. Cute in a bad ass way

I love Fred and Desiree's idea of the Rabbit Dress, I feel like this onesie type outfit shown above is a little off for Alice. But I am in LOVE with the first design! Maybe when we get official designs we can have a vote for which design is better?

And also super yes to the physical white rabbit PJ onesie suggested earlier!

Love the rabbit onesie! Would definitely pay to get a physical one for myself, too. I prefer it over the dress, but think it would be cool if the dress was still an in-game option. Would like to maybe see a button eye on the hood of Alice's onesie?

I like Fred's head design the best. The updated Omri ears on the onsie are definitely an improvement, but I'm still not fond of them. I'm not sure how easy to manufacture Omri's onesie would be, but I still think it's better than the dress design. It's nice to have more than just dresses for Alice to wear, and given that we did a Rabbit DLC dress last game it's not treading new ground. I think the Chaos Coin didn't have as much controversy as these dress discussions because it's not something Alice wears? It's like having your name on the credits page. A nice thought to those who contribute, but not something which makes you lose any enjoyment of the game.

Anna Lepper

I like the first version more and prefer the onesie over the dress 🐇 Love how Alices eyes look! I would still love to see a creepier more ripped and torn version.

Loooveeee the onesie! The only wonky looking thing I can see would be the bunny on the butt flap. Maybe if the bunny tail was a bit smaller in proportion to the butt flap/alice it would flow better? I like both onesies though for our Alice the omri one fits a bit better. I do like the ears from the second/fan one a bit better than the ears on the first one- just the point at which they attach/ the spacing between them I think flows a bit better. Also. Simply my opinion. Ill want to own the rabbit onesie no matter what it ends up looking like?

Sarah Heist

In all honesty, I love the onesie version much more than the dress one. It kinda fits more with the physical plush version... ( and makes me wanna throw a pyjama party ). Any chance of eventually have physical white rabbit onesies? 😁

I really like both bunny outfits tbh

thed4rkestrose

I actually prefer the first Onesie. It's simple. Not to much going on. I liked the dress version but wasn't fond of how the ears liked with the hair. Also is she dabbing in the Orange version 😂 lol

I really like the white eye, it's really eye catching. I like the concept of a rabbit onesie but this looks a bit too snug, maybe try making it bigger, more cozy PJ style. So far I like both outfits and I would be fine with either one.

i much prefer the original dress concept before the onesie, but instead of the ears perhaps the hair highlights in this concept would look better?

They are just cosmetics in a single player game. I don’t think there’s any reason why you shouldn’t make rewards to early supporters. At the end of the day everyone can still play the finished product and I’m assuming there will be plenty of outfits in game.

Justin Cole

Definitely prefer the Fred and Desiree mock up to the other two that Omri have done. Sorry.

This is a neat design that is rather unusual, but looks very good. It would be neat to have it in-game (given how the White Rabbit is so important to Alice).

Adorable

Wonderful! Please tell me the tail will unfasten to reveal the 'tail opening', like I'm hoping. This would be ideal for a RL onsie!🤞✌😂
