Ordo ab Chao

“One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star.”
-Nietzche
Continuously improving to attain something greater... Where there is chaos, we create order. When we see something lacking, we create. Evolution, revolution, convolution...
I am happy to have you all along for this process. And very thankful to have skilled artists like Omri, Joey, Alex, Jennifer, and others who embrace the process. We're creating some amazing things together!
First up today is a really excellent creation from the process - the latest incarnation of the Chaos Dress. And all I can say is: YES.
Love it. Omri's taken an idea presented during our last YouTube Livestream by "Alice_on_Elm_Street" - that we be able to switch between Order and Chaos with the Chaos Dress. And there you have it - a dress switching between order and chaos! Yay for cool fan-powered ideas :)

Omri's also sent along a new variation on the Blackening Dress. For those uncertain about the NAME of this dress, do a quick Google search and you'll find the concept is one contained in alchemy. The Nigredo is a phase in the alchemical process - usually the first phase - in which the ingredients are charred and blackened. In the psychological realm you might think of this phase as "the dark night of the soul."
We can imagine this dress being linked with the event of the fire - but a reflection of the result (psychologically) vs. the physical fire (and result).
Looks beautiful to me - but then perhaps that's just my inner goth speaking? What do you think?
And then we arrive at... (insert dramatic music)...

I've been thinking quite a lot about the Bargaining phase... the setting, the mental state Alice would be in, and how all this might reflect on her attire. While I think this dress is beautiful I also think we might want to consider the implications for a bargaining stage in Alice's psychological state.
What I'm wondering is this: Would a 13 year-old girl, who has lost her family and wishes to return to the way things were, bargain from a position of power? Would she go up against the most painful situation in her life with knife in hand and wearing what appears to be the most gilded, expensive, powerful dress in her wardrobe? Or, in keeping with the stages of grief, would she be bargaining to trade everything (who she is, what she wants, who she could become) for a past which now lies in ashes?
Bargaining isn't pretty. It's not done from a position of power. It forfeits, discards, and diminishes the self in exchange for the 'other' - it is, in effect, giving up. Is this dress one you'd... grovel in?
So... something to think about... but perhaps we need a few more distressed dresses? Let me know your thoughts on this topic in the comments below!
And speaking of CHAOS...

That's the box, bag, and frame for the Chaos Coin. Each coin will ship inside this beautiful collector set. This is just a production sample photo from the factory - I'll have the physical items in my hands this weekend. But I have to say these are looking excellent!
We're at 1731 Patrons as I write this. Chaos Coins unlock at 2000 - so we only have 269 more Patrons to go! You can help us get there faster by sharing our Goal via your social media channels. Show your friends the awesome Chaos Coin and Collector Set we'll unlock when we reach 2000 Patrons. All the relevant info and images can be found HERE.
The actual physical coins are a thing of beauty - meaty and solid...

Let's hurry up and get those coins unlocked because...

Jennifer is starting work on more Embroidered Patch designs - one of which is the cute little Lulu patch you see above. Other designs being looked at - Insane Children, White Rabbit (as in "follow the"), Rage Alice, Alchemy Symbols, and more. If there are patch ideas you want to share - please do in the comments below.
And once we've hit the Chaos Coin goal, then we'll set up a new set of Patches as the goal after that (with an easier trigger).
From Shanghai with Woof,
-American (and Lulu)
Perfectly agree with the thought about the Bargaining Dress, indeed that dress is too perfect, too "composed and complete" for being the representation of such peculiar psychological state, can't wait to see how you managed these changing now (since this post is of the 2018) .

SUGGESTION:
Chaos Dress
Passive - 'randomize' nearby power-ups, collectibles, or spawns.
Active - random combat boost. Maybe it can change the day-night cycle.
Drawback - It's random, so never can plan or tell. Hope you saved, boi.
Blackening Dress
Passive - darkens immediate surroundings, making it harder for enemies to spot Alice (stealth?).
Active - allows player to select day/night, short-range Apparation or paired portals like in 'Portal.'
Drawbacks - high mana cost for Active skills, Alice can lose consciousness until recovery. No combat boost, but can vanish for a short time even if discovered. Enemy comes to investigate, and if the player times it right, they get bored and wander off before becoming exhausted and visible again. If unlucky, though...
Bargaining Dress
Passive - Increase drop rate / value or speed.
Active - Increase 1 combat stat at the cost of another. Roll a die to determine which stat is decreased.
Drawbacks - never know what you'll get. Again, hope you saved.

I looove the Blackened Dress!!! so amazing!
2018-08-07 16:29:06 +0000 UTC
I love this chaos dress. The idea of having a dress which fluctuates back and forth between states really says 'chaos' to me, too. I think it's really smart. I like both states which have been shown: the flawless, almost regal state and the messy makeup and costume of the 'on' state. So pretty!

Chaos Dress:
The Off mode gives me a royal princess vibe, especially since purple and gold are commonly associated with and represents royalty.
Building on the chaos dress "On/Off mode", when it is on the dress will have swirls of multiple colors but more on red to make it look really chaotic. I chose red because in ancient Egypt, it represents chaos and among other things that is associated with red.
The Blackening dress looks a little better and I like the raven skull.
The Bargaining dress looks good, but I still don't know how I feel about the puffy looking ribbon tails.

I cannot edit my above comment but wanted to add, regardless of the end results in the chaos dress, I think the drastic makeup change is a wonderful idea and must. It helps set the difference in the two states of the dress and how it changes.

I like the chaos dress. It’s very beautiful. The on and off is a great idea as well. I’m not sure the blue really resonates to me with chaos though. I do wish there were a variety of colors to compare it with, but it’s great nonetheless.
The blackening dress is incredible! Alice looks so beautiful! I don’t think it could be any more perfect than it is. The idea that Alice has an outfit that represents the end results of the fire is just amazing. I hope to see something associated with that idea whether or not the blackening dress is the final result.
The bargaining dress as it is, is beautiful. But, I would love to see a version of it a bit more roughed up. Maybe something Alice has worn and not been so careful in.
I would like to see some patches with different weapons from Madness Returns. The bunny clock and the pepper cannon were awesome. Queen of Hearts card guards would be nice too.
Other than that, I’m happy to know the alchemy symbols could be made to patches and look forward to it.

but from the time period, if you needed to bargain with someone who held more power than you, you would dress in your finest clothes to make a good impression, right? grovelling in your finery could serve to help you, yes? but part of me also thinks it doesn't quite fit - this version of her sees to *hold* the power, threatening/forcing the bargain, so a distressed dress might work better
2018-07-27 19:49:51 +0000 UTC
Chaos dress with ON and OFF modes seems cool, maybe the ON mode could work a bit like the shrink mode in AMR. World could look more messy and chaos-y while it’s activated. Things could fly around and maybe form platforms that would allow Alice to acces places she otherwise couldn’t.
2018-07-27 07:38:00 +0000 UTC
What I would really like to see is another dress similar to Fleshmaiden from Alice returns. And another cool feature you could add into the game would be possibly the ability to play from different characters' perspectives or maybe (not to sound weirdly mainstream) side missions where you learn more about the different characters. I noticed that the nanny was mentioned to be an important role in Alice's life and maybe there would be a few scenes where she has a bigger emotional impact on alice. Or not because that would make sense given her trauma.

Before dress red heart blood /after dress blood skull red💀 ? What queen of heart ?

I was actually a fan of Bargaining being a suit...but my expectations were BLOWN AWAY with the dress version! I immediately want to cosplay that one! I love the use of color for the dresses so far. It's colorful yet very macabre at the same time. The switching of the Chaos dress is also very unique--it makes sense for the Chaos dress to not be rational and always be changing. At first I will admit, I thought the hair accessory for Chaos was horns from the front. Also, just a thought about the Chaos dress, I know everyone loved the purple (I do too!) but, traditionally, isn't her dress usually red when it is in the Queen of Hearts world? My thought was maybe in the "on" mode where she looks really..unhinged and dirty, it could also have splatters of red on the dress to show maybe that the dress/Alice's mind is even starting to give over to the Queen of Hearts. And when I mean "red" it could be blood, or even just patches of that fleshy red skin that makes up the Queen in Alice original and her hands/tentacles in Alice Madness.

Could we have more conversation on how the details of the dress coordinate with the story? I like the chaos idea but I feel like it doesn’t follow the theme in some ways

I am loving what Omri has done with this dress now. It feels more Alice! Keep up all the good work guys and gals, it's coming together greatly!

Right!!!!? I loved the first Chaos design. I also really loved the first hairstyle , all done up.

The dresses are truly stunning designs. Oh man insane children patches!!!? I'm totally down for those. All this merch is exciting. Also was wondering if most of the patches should be delivered by now.. or if ones being shipped to the States will take longer?

I don't really care for the skirt on the Blackening Dress now, I preferred the one layer like before. The only thing I would have changed on the old Blackening Dress was to just make it straight instead of rounded. I don't know how I feel about the color either, it looks a bit like oil now.
2018-07-25 06:29:04 +0000 UTC
The Chaos dress (04) doesn't seem chaotic to me. It's GORGEOUS as always though. I liked the first chaos dress. It actually looked chaotic with the multiple colors and the clown like stockings. Not sure why other people didn't like it. But I think the hair for the champagne colored chaos dress was PERFECT. Totally chaotic
2018-07-24 18:46:18 +0000 UTC
It's a big yes on the new incarnation of the Chaos dress from me too! <3
I'm loving the raven like shine to the blackening dress, though I personally prefer the shape the dress had before. It stood out more, as a different side to Alice, a side more dark, powerful and beautiful than Alice feels herself, but perhaps I got it a bit wrong. I thought the blackening dress was for the some kind of "dark Alice", that Alice herself was combating, the physical manifestation of her guilt and so forth, that Alice literally has to fight at some point.
Generally, I'm so in love with this dress I want to marry it.
While i love this green bargaining dress, you do make a very valid point. I hadn't thought about it like that at all, but now I do and are totally right. She, like anyone else, would be desperately pleading, begging and willing to sell her soul in exchange for getting her family back. Like you say, it's not a pretty and powerful stage.
Yay to getting closer to the 2000 patrons and super yay to more patches and Lulu stuff! :D <3
Sorry for spamming this, but I made a group over on facebook, so that we inmates can stay in touch outside of the live streams. My vision if for it be an active group, but for now we are few, so I hope more of you wonderful people will join us!

2018-07-24 16:22:57 +0000 UTC
While I agree that maybe being dressed up in a 'powerful' outfit is wrong for the type of bargaining a 13 y/o girl of that era would do, I still might go and make that dress for a cosplay because damn- I love it so much more as a dress.
2018-07-24 12:49:39 +0000 UTC
I thought Alice is going to fight Chaos during the Asylum game to get back Order in her life instead of using Chaos in her advantage as a perk/power-up/special ability /weapon etc (◕⌓◕;)
2018-07-24 06:29:26 +0000 UTC
Dresses look perfect but you are absolutely right about the bargaining dress, maybe she could give up her pretty dress when she enters the bargaining domain as a way to show she is ready to give up on anything.
2018-07-24 06:20:45 +0000 UTC
This so cool!! I hope you will release this on the switch as well :3
2018-07-24 02:42:34 +0000 UTC
Love this update! So here we go...LOVE the Chaos dress and new makeup. I think it would be awesome for it to switch on when your fighting. Still love the Blackening dress with its subtle changes. Especially the new gloves and feather design. Now for the Bargaining dress. I was iffy about from the beginning and you brought up a very valid point. I think the dress should be a little more tattered like she’s barely holding on to her sanity. She would be a complete mess during this phase almost like pleading and begging for everything to go back to normal. I do like the dress and design but it may not portray this stage very well. I think that about covers it. I like the idea of Lulu patches!! Too cute!! Hope to see a stream next week!!
2018-07-24 00:49:19 +0000 UTC
I like the idea of the bargaining dress being more tattered and messed-up. Maybe Alice could start out bargaining by wanting to feel like she's in power (with a nicer dress like the one here) but as she loses control and gets closer to the 'groveling', true side of bargaining, her dress becomes more tattered, or she gets a new, more messed-up dress entirely? Anyway, love the art, and can't wait for the chaos coin!! :D And a new set of patches sounds awesome!
2018-07-23 22:11:58 +0000 UTC
That would actually be really cool to have Alice react to the player switching her dresses. The player has the control but she does not.
2018-07-23 21:33:06 +0000 UTC
I really like the idea of the dress going between chaos and stable. I also agree on the bargaining dress. Perhaps having come from a state of denial and anger, she would be going about in the bargaining stage thinking her anger as power and going about it with aggression, only to fall into a state of desperation and frailty (wanting to trade everything as you say) which of course would lead into the depression stage. Also yes to the insane children patches.
2018-07-23 21:05:45 +0000 UTC
I love the idea of a tattered and ruined bargaining dress! Like you said bargaining isn't pretty and its one of the lowest points in the process so i think it should show us the lowest side to alice at the same time! Although we have seen her when she has lost everything in terms of being in the asylum, but it may even be lower and more tragic than that, how could someone who has absolutely nothing to give anymore try and bargain? I think the dress could reflect all this despair. All i keep having in my head is the sorrowful masks you see in ancient theater and how mournful and twisted by agony they are almost begging or more aptly, bargaining. This would be cool on the dress or maybe even depicted on her face? Or not! Whatever you do i will love regardless!
2018-07-23 20:28:39 +0000 UTC
I've just read a few more posts and made me think - The Chaos Dress shouldn't be user switchable - it should switch depending on her actions/interactions...or to be truly chaotic...switch randomly throughout play to throw her into a more chaotic situation....Or, Chaos could be something that builds and is unleashed - either by the user or randomly (I'd make it dependent on the player's level easy, normal, CHAOS) similar to the first Alice game...as the game progresses she should move from chaos to control; however, depending on choices she should fall back - since life isn't linear!
2018-07-23 19:38:05 +0000 UTC
I don't get on here often, so pardon me if I'm a bit behind on things. First, it seems to me that Alice, as depicted in these designs, is much older than a 13 year old girl - and makeup, during the 1800s - early 1900s (around the time of the 'Roaring Twenties), was frowned upon for 'proper' women, being relegated to the theater and prostitutes, so I think putting her in makeup is a bad thing - unless you're going for an elaborate 'theatrical' makeup look for her various Wonderland 'roles', which would work. Regarding the dresses - particularly the "Moon" dress - I suggest staying away from modern fabrics (like LATEX) and staying with what would have been available (shiny leather). Also, as someone noted on here, the dresses have to be 'unlocked' so shouldn't they offer some sort of aid to Alice as she progresses? Like adding to her ability to find things, increasing her agility/jumping, making her stronger, decreasing time for reloading/cooling off/etc., or something of that nature? BTW, the patches are awesome and I'm really looking forward to the Challenge Coin!
2018-07-23 19:31:06 +0000 UTC
QUESTIONS Maybe the fact that the PLAYER can change the dress at any time can be linked to the 4th wall breaking y'all mentioned earlier?Does Alice like it when it happens?.... A Counterpoint: it is necessary to change/flip anyways (e.g enemies requiring different strategies or a difficult area to locomote... .. does this mean the dresses = weapons?? (since you 'unlock' them at different stages.....or do the DRESSES then UNLOCK their equivalent weapons?
2018-07-23 17:28:14 +0000 UTC
I loooove all the dresses, the switching between the chaos dresses sounds very promising and new!
2018-07-23 17:17:07 +0000 UTC
I like the on and off chaos dress design but should it be controlled like that? As far as the bargaining dress goes.. I do miss the suit style. I definitely feel like it should be much more distressed considering her imploding mental state.
2018-07-23 16:41:26 +0000 UTC
Sadly no, I wanted one too but I came too late. It was only for a limited time, you had to be here when they reached their goal.
2018-07-23 15:46:58 +0000 UTC
YAAAAAAS. I am LOVING the updates. The only thing I don't like is the pointed bangs on the Blackening dress, I like them much better rounded. (Glad I haven't gotten far on making the dress 😂😂😂)
2018-07-23 15:41:24 +0000 UTC
Opinions!
The idea of swapping between chaos and order doesnt feel chaotic at all to me. Is controlled chaos still chaos? Perhaps if the change simply overcomes you at certain times rather than okay lets change to chaos for x situation.
Blackening is still beautiful, but I preferred the crescent shaped bottom end of the dress. Also leaves leg room for running, very practical for a 13 year old!
Bargaining is still beautiful, but I really liked the suit. Has a somewhat tighter dress as a middle ground been considered, and was that even a thing in Victorian age?
Keep up the awesome work <3
2018-07-23 14:35:11 +0000 UTC
The chaos dresses look great! And the switching idea sounds interesting, maybe it could work a bit like shrinking in AMR (offering a different perspective on a situation).
I prefer the new blackening dress coated to the old one. The old one had that weird curved bottom that didn't seem right.
The bargaining dress is nice, however I'm not sure about how the jacket buttons up at the side rather than the centre.
Hearing that there are plans for a new set of patches is awesome. Can we get one of the queen?
See you at stream
2018-07-23 14:22:29 +0000 UTC
The blackening dress looks a lot better with the change of gloves. I love this gothic style :) Also any chance of getting a Queen embroidered patch or a hobby horse patch? Hobby horse was my favourite weapon!
2018-07-23 14:22:16 +0000 UTC
Completely over the moon on the new Chaos Dress (4) and Blackening Dress! Absolutely Outstanding! As for the Bargaining Dress, I love the back view of the dress but there is still something really throwing me off on the front view and I can't pin point what it is. When I look at all the dresses, my eyes look around the entire outfit and examine the pieces and they are pleasing to look at. When I look at the Bargaining dress from the front view, my eyes keep getting pulled to the hair and shoulder area and not looking around at the other parts of the dress.
EDIT: I think it may be the shoulders doing it. The folds/shading around the shoulder stitching is making it look like she is hunched forward. Like it seems like her shoulders/arms are more forward than her body causing that hunch effect.

I still don't think the Chaos dress is chaotic enough, i think that actually other dresses like the flame one is more chaos dress that this one. And i think they look a little bit to similar for the changes to be noticeable in the game.
The blackening dress is perfect!!!! its going to look amazing, but i'm not a fan of the hair. It's not Alice. I think it a little bit to cliché goth from a Sims character and not an Alice goth inspired.
I like more the idea of making a bargaining dress showing a alice that has lost everything, that is full of pain and that would do everything to change that . A more desperate and lost little girl. Maybe put the green dress apart for now.
2018-07-23 14:17:35 +0000 UTC
The first dress is very nice, but the arm sleeves should not be transparent (kids dresses in her time were never transparent, yet they put makeup...)
Love the boot changes for the second dress!!
The third dress i loved it more as a suit uz it represented bargaining much more accurate than a dress. Remaking the suit into a dress is a smart move sadly..Historically accurate and as a designer this is something people should go toward.
To answer your question...i can't...Idk the answer, as a kid id go for what i want...

I like dress, but I believe it should not be called "Chaos".
Every time you refer to it on stream as "Yin & Yang" it fits SO much better.
The order and disorder should just make it be called the "Yin & Yang" dress.
Chaos is more perfectly suited towards the "Flame/Guilt" dress.
Which I also don't like it being called that. When I see her up in flames and ashes, it just screams "Chaos" to me. Call that one Chaos then we are golden.
The "Bargaining" dress. I much prefer it this way as a dress. Still not sure about the puffy shoulders though... Not working for me.
Blackening... As much as I love it, please get rid of the "BANG".
I'm all about it, I do love the dress it's amazingly beautiful, but the hair...
It's just not Alice.
2018-07-23 13:50:31 +0000 UTC
I'm wondering if the Chaos Dress could not only switch like on/off, but maybe it could merge and 'stir' like a liquid? Constantly changing. Not sure how challenging it could be from a programming point of view, but that would be something totally new. And maybe the one color/theme could overpower another if the damage was taken?
Blackening dress looks stunning, though I must admit the moon shape had something magnetic about it. It's still my favourite design.
When I think about 'bargaining' dress, I kinda imagine typical 'victorian' dress-suit, with a corset and the skirt to the ground, meaning she wouldn't be able to run. That could symbolise that she's kinda socially shackled in the situation she is in? The dress could be used in a way that she won't be able to walk quickly in the game and she may need to avoid some obstacles etc.
Must admit that dress design is the most fun I've had with Patreon so far! Warm regards to Lulu!
2018-07-23 13:35:50 +0000 UTC
The Chaos Dress is superb! Love the on/off. It may just be my love for Goth fashion but the Blackening Dress is gorgeous. It's one of my favorites! And the Bargaining Dress is beautiful as well. I love suits but I honestly prefer the dress over the suit in this case. The idea of bargaining, in and of itself, makes me wonder how a more worn out dress would look. All three dresses are beautiful and wonderfully done and I can't wait to see more content!
2018-07-23 12:55:32 +0000 UTC
You're correct w/ regards to bargaining. As someone who recently watched his wife deteriorate for months and ultimately die in a hospital, the trauma is severe and inescapable. Acceptance isn't much prettier than bargaining. After rending the self, tearing away chunks, giving up everything to accomplish the impossible and failing, you're left alone and no longer who you were. No longer able to identify with or find purpose in the things society or religion put forward as "reasons" for existence. It's not a happy ending. It's emptiness. Hopelessness. Your truths and meanings in a state of decay.

I agree that in the bargaining stage she would be coming from a position of desperation not power. I have liked both of the versions of the blackening dress although I will admit that to me she looks reminiscent of a vampire in both renderings. I think it might be the styling of her hair. I also feel.like in the second version of the chaos dress her hair should maybe be a little less kempt.
2018-07-23 12:20:27 +0000 UTC
Order/Chaos: I think that design is finally getting close to what it should be. Maybe the legs and hair should show more variance between the two modes, as they currently don’t show any change? Also, much as I love purple on this dress, is it perhaps not heavy/strong enough a color to represent Order and not bright/aggressive enough for Chaos (if that makes any sense)?
Blackening: The small changes have definitely helped this dress, and it too is nearing the potential it has. I know this is totally unhelpful, but something is still a bit “off” but as I write this I can’t place it.
Bargaining: The dress design is better than the suit, but maybe this isn’t Bargaining. I agree with the idea that bargaining in the grief sense isn’t from a position of power, its low, groveling, and almost pathetic to the outside observer. It should be Alice at her most desperate, and it needs a dress that shows that, before the absolute nadir of Depression (a dress I’ve imagined as a mess of tar, chains, and a straightjacket holding and dragging Alice down).
2018-07-23 12:15:10 +0000 UTC
1. LOVE THE CHAOS DRESS
2. The Blackening Dress still looks awkward and too over-the-top for me. I think, for that stage, Alice should wear funeral attire with a laced little hat and everything. It would be simple so as to not wear the eye off and effectively convey her psychological state.
3. I definitely agree with American’s point of view with the bargaining stage of Alice’s life. The dress just isn’t doing it. Bargaining is one of the most dangerous stages of grief because it embodies the complete and utter surrender of oneself. Alice should be at her most confused and deranged self there. Bargaining should be the most chaotic stage out of all and depression a disturbingly quiet, dead one to accentuate the fact that all of Alice’s attempts were denied and that she is forced to accept the truth.❤️
2018-07-23 11:48:54 +0000 UTC
Love the on off and the bargaining dress is such an improvement, totally love them all. I still like the consistently divided bangs like classic Alice hair but it's all beautiful. Potential lulu patch looks cute!
2018-07-23 09:53:37 +0000 UTC
I still do prefer the suit as opposed to the dress but I do like it either way! I miss the skull and gloves deeply for Blackening but am not opposed to the new idea. Psyched for more patches! And so close to the Chaos coin!

I absolutely love the idea of the chaos dress, how it transforms is beautiful and, as a goth (yay fellow goth), I adore the blackening dress! I love the raven skull and the addition of lace gloves although I didn’t mind the skeleton ones. Again I agree with everyone that bargaining should be down and dirty and maybe an exaggerated asylum outfit, maybe a straitjacket turned into a dress somehow? Also loving the idea of more patches, maybe some more cute chibi Alice ones! Are we going to make pins too eventually? Alice pins would be really cool to add to my leather jacket! Keep up the fabulous work everyone!

I seriously need the chaos version of the dress in my life! I am glad that the suit was nixxed, it just didn't seem to fit with the overall aesthetic.

I like most of the changes on the dresses however on the Blackening Dress I do miss the skull gloves and the card guard skull on the back of the bow. I highly adored those small details on that design. And for patches the hobby horse, a blue butterfly, the chaos coin

I much prefer the Bargening suit to the dress. The dress feels too professional whereas the suit felt slightly more relaxed. Even so, Bargening is never that pretty and Alice is the kind of person who wears her crazy on her sleeve, so her Bargening should represent her manic thinking to get there. I don't really like the Blackening dress, it feels over stated and stiff. Like something the queen of hearts would wear while she looks down on everyone. I do like the idea of different materials layered but what if its something thats reminiscent of Lizzies style that only adds a layer of guilt/depression to it all.

I love purple and gold but I agree, it doesn't feel right for chaos and order. What if you used the colours from the Bargening dress as order instead?

I LOVE the chaos dress and it's unique on and off styles. I also really like the idea of branching off into more ragged, distressed look. It would give some variation to the dresses. Maybe there could be a couple dresses that are a more distressed style. I also like the dress version of the bargaining dress much much better than the suit.

Like the on/off dress idea but still find this colour unsuited for chaos. Maybe it should cycle between the heat of red and the cool of blue. The Bargaining dress should maybe be exactly what she is wearing in the asylum, or an augmented version of that, although the skull at the back is gorgeous. Don't have much to say about the Blackening dress - it's flouncy, like a dark communion dress (actually, I like it more now that I've said that). Truth be told, none of these refinements grab me, and we definitely need something a bit more appropriate to her age, although I can see some of them as representing states of aspiration, i.e. this is how I would aspire to dress, like a mask in which to journey through the stages

When I was on the stream and heard this idea with switching dresses I was thinking that this is a very bad idea but when I saw this art ...it’s really changed my mind! The idea with switching dress is good, but now there is no chaos, It looks like a hysteria from AMR. It's will be really sad if we will see just the same hysteria in AA :(
The best version of the chaos dress still be the first one, cause there a lot of colors. Maybe when it's off There will be no color spots, and when it's on there will be a lot of color spots, like on the art.And also when it's off, there are hair from the first version and when it's on there are hair from the second version (peach), the most chaotic hair, btw. And the blackening dress looks perfect now, but I miss gloves with bones :( And maybe veil will suit with dress? Like symbol of the tragedy. And this is one of my favorite dresses now! Also the idea with new patches made me really happy and excited! I think that patches that connected with some worlds(chapters) will looks nice, for example 2 patches with hatter and tea,2 patches with red queen and hearts :)
Great work! <3

I love the chaos dress ideas, they are gorgeous and the on/off thing sounds cool. As for the bargaining dress, i preferred the suit. And i get what you mean about it being too regal and clean cut.

keep up the great work!!

Im confused, I just joined at the $2 tier for now and my partner has been a member also at that level for some moths, but I can find us both at the same address? Also do you have any Asylum certificates left?

The fluctuating Chaos Dress is absolutely gorgeous! Omri has done such a beautiful job, I've loved seeing how this dress concept has evolved. The Blackening dress looks much more practical now, too.
Your ideas about bargaining make a lot of sense, as a newly orphaned 13 year old, it makes sense that Alice would be in more of a bartering mindset: "Just take everything I have and give my family back". That probably makes more sense than one where she has any real power.
P.S.I'm *loving* the idea of a Lulu patch!

I honestly prefer it as a suit than a dress, the style of the outfit just seems to work better as a suit (merely my opinion) though the dress looks amazing it's just not quite right to me

With the Bargaining outfit I think it looks better as a suit, seems to work with the style more, love it either way

I love the new blackening dress concept? The last one seemed so overly extravagant and i think the lack of completely white face paint made it a little better. I do agree though i think the bargaining dress should look a little more distressed as apposed to rich and regal

I absolutely agree with your idea of the bargaining dress. Although beautiful, it's not suited to that stage of grief in my opinion. Looking into it a bit more I've learned that the bargaining stage is really one of desperation. As you say, she wouldn't be in a position of power at all at this stage.
2018-07-23 07:03:25 +0000 UTC
I agree her dress does look much more regal than one would expect when begging and bargaining
2018-07-23 07:02:17 +0000 UTC
Love these dresses! The Bargaining dress looks much better than the trousers. The trousers version looked off to me. But I do love the idea of her wearing trousers, maybe just not all the same color and more Victorian styled.

Like the On \ Off idea really much. I think she would bargaining to trade (she is still a kid even in this time period so ya she would wanna trade everything). Still not a fan of the cat skull sry. i think it just don't fit XD (i know cat skulls have those big eye holes but it just looks damn stupid to me with those green stones) but i like the dress more than the suit ^_^

Man, I LOVE these dresses - they all have their own personality, each SCREAMS something different..! Love it!
P.S. Coin HYPE!!!

Was this inspired by the “Is it blue or is it gold” dress photo that got everyone to argue about 16 months ago?

The “off” mode is absolutely beautiful; I love the color scheme, but the transformation from beauty to chaos is a really awesome feature as well!

I think we do,need to see more distressed dresses more dresses to show she is vulnerable especially in bargaining. perhaps her burned nightgown? I LOVE this new chaos dress variation💗 the box is breathtaking 💗 I,like the blackening dress but maybe no bangs? Can't wait to see more💗

Always makes me happy when I see one of your posts, American! In answer to your question about Bargaining, I’m actually kind of with you. When I think of “bargaining”, especially from Alice’s perspective; I think of someone down on their knees and tearfully pleading to let them make the trade. It’s pushing 1 am here, so my brain is struggling, but perhaps the bargaining dress can be a call back to her London clothes or Misstitched in Madness Returns. It kills me to see such a lovely dress potentially never see the light of day, but I don’t think it quite matches Alice’s mental state.
