Does it Suit Her?

Dear Insane Children,

Today is a good day - the creativity is flowing strong. Very happy to have you all along for the ride! We literally could not be doing all this if it were not for YOUR support here on Patreon. The amount of art, design, writing, and management going into all our pre-production efforts would be impossible without YOU.

So, first off... THANK YOU for helping get us here!

Next, we have the latest from Omri. A SUIT of all things! He says of this and his other efforts:

1. Suit because i think if fits best, if people won't like it i'll do a dress in the same theme/colors etc
I also want to design a Mercury dress which will be like the Fleshmaiden but in silver. but that's later on.
2. Next Dress, is the R.Queen, bloody but Pleasure.
3. reworking the chaos according to feedback. If you need to feedback me on the Darkening dress this is the time!

So, what do you think? A suit for Alice? Leave your comments below. I will reserve my feedback... for the live stream later this week. Then we can discuss this in full and add your comments into the mix.

We humans seemingly exist to tell stories. Stories put things in order. Words on paper are part of a magical structure. Like notes of music or numbers in a formula. The meaningful combinations are as infinite as the randomly senseless ones. And meaning is found inside, outside, upside down, backwards, zoomed in, zoomed out, sped up, and slowed down. Read enough books, watch enough movies, listen to enough music... see enough faces, and you start to recognize the patterns everywhere.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about take 38 minutes and 35 seconds to listen to Radiohead's "Pyramid Song" at 800% Slower.

Maybe read this while that plays...

[SPOILER WARNING]

She alone survived the fire. But, she doesn’t quite believe it. “IT” is the fire, the death of her whole family, and her survival.
In her fragile state, she’s wondered if/(pretended?) this is all a dream, a vivid nightmare. She’s hoped it. She’s invested in the dream. She’s wondered if she might create an alternative ending—so the dream might be easier to manage/cope with or just disappear. But she knows something is wrong. And often she has lucid visions of the horror. But one day, when she’s feeling (relatively)“strong,” she closes her eyes, to “sleep . . .perchance to dream”—and risks a retreat to her treasured Wonderland.
She arrives. But, if not for a fleeting glimpse of a RABBIT, wherever it is she has “landed” would be unrecognizable. Wonderland the refuge, its familiar geography and topography, has been blown apart, fragmented like her mind. There’s nothing familiar, comforting, consoling, safe, or enjoyable about it.
This Wonderland is a series of islands suspended in space—small planets in a sunless, starless galaxy. Her domestic tragedy seems to have triggered a cosmic event, a big bang. Wonderland has morphed into unstable and dangerous domains. The planets are in retrograde jetting away from a once benign core; lit by fire, nuclear fuel, coal, candles,, gas etc. Each planet (LEVEL) is uniquely symbolic; uniquely populated with familiar or vaguely reminiscent characters, decorated, and equipped with unique challenges, enemies, weapons, “toys,” etc. Each is primarily associated (not co-terminous) with a STAGE of Grief. Each could be associated with significant (if not always intelligible) astrological and alchemical signs, color schemes, nursery rhymes, obscure Victorian references and odd bits or popular culture.
Alice perceives the likelihood of a link between her (certain though non-specific) damaged self and this strange version of Wonderland. To fix this alien, “broken” incarnation and return it to “normal,” she intuits, may help her help herself. But, like Humpty Dumpty after the fall, she can’t do it. It’s a fool’s errand (she’ll realize eventually). Doomed to failure. Not possible; not even desirable. Too much has changed. She’s lost too much. Still, her awareness of the enormity of the challenge, (and the impossibility of success as she defines it) won’t stop her from trying to reconstruct, cure, resurrect, overcome, etc., etc.

I've attached the full "Alice 3 Notes" document as a PDF to this post. Have a read, have a think, then post your comments and feedback below. Keep in mind this is a process - we're outlining the broad strokes. I think we're close to capturing the general shape of the thing. Can you see it?

Does it suit her?

We'll discuss in full during the next live stream.

Oh, and this...

That's the box and tube containing Asylum Pitch Materials going to EA in the UK. Should arrive with them in ~10 days. Cross your fingers for a positive reception! Lulu is there next to the bags in which that stuff, plus your Patreon posters, are contained. She approves! :)

PS: Story, design, art, and other elements are going up on the Asylum Wiki. Feel free to have a browse.

Does it Suit Her?

Comments

I can’t find the dress variation of this suit. :(

I absolutely love the suit! I do think it might be cool if she had short hair to go along with it!

Hell yeah I love the suit!! Plus if she sees "bargaining" as a tactic used in business then her young Victorian perspective of that would be men like her father in suits, so it makes sense.

to make the suited look more mascaline she could have the short fire damaged hair rather that the pretty style in the image

It sounds like Alice and im curious with how smooth that transition to AMA its gonna be.

Alice in a suit is great!!

Wow! Awesome 💀🔪

OMG, I am SO loving this design! And I think your idea to make it a suit and not a dress is brilliant in this context. (sorry if I'm late with this)

After listening to the latest stream, I had an idea for the question of how to end the game in a way that represents acceptance and ties in the beginning of the next part of the story: Continuing with my previously posted idea that the true final battle will be against Rage and Hysteria (Who don't like each other) after they take down or seal away the weakened Jabberwocky, Alice has to confront those two negative manifestations of her suffering in both violent and philosophical ways (Maybe small cutscenes with compelling diologue in between sections of the fight?). In the final stage of the fight, Alice and White Rabbit find a way to cripple Rage, leaving her open for Hysteria to take advantage and slay her. After that, a strengthened Hysteria initiates a fight with the player and Rabbit (Easter egg multiplayer co-op opportunity?) that never ends until the player is defeated. The final scene in of the fight would be of Alice and Rabbit, holding each other in the end with Rabbit promising to help guide Alice back to sanity one day. The final scene in Wonderland would be of Alice lost in some kind of blank space or labyrinth in which hints of Rabbit can be seen that she begins to follow. Meanwhile, in the real world, Alice has broken out into fits of hysteria that the doctor(s) note as progress because she's finally broken out of her catatonia. I think something along these lines would tie in neatly to how Rabbit is shown to have later sparked Alice's second phase of recovery and our subsequent adventure in an already damaged Wonderland in AMA.

Jay Olsen

Alice looks amazing in that suit and I'd love to see a fully rendered and animated version of it...as DLC. While a suit would look pretty interesting and be a welcome change of pace, I don't know if it feels quite right as a canon outfit. However, it would be really fun to have it as bonus content or a DLC addition.

Jay Olsen

Of course it’s beautifully designed, but I’m not sure it’s a fit for Alice. I’m also not really a fan of the hair style.

Loving the suit design, the detail is beautiful. Seeing Alice in a completely different style is a nice change up and would love for the suit to be kept. Read the Alice3 notes and I'm a big fan of the version 1 intro but I really love the aggressive tone that comes across from version 2, especially from the "Heal yourself, you wicked girl". I think it helps to set the scene more. Overall the notes are great and looking forward to the stream.

It kind of shocked me at first to see Alice not in a dress. I don't think the suit is entirely bad, and the detail of the design is wonderful. It just seems like a suit feels detached from all of the other dress designs and the dresses from previous Alice games. While I wouldn't completely throw the idea of a suit out yet, I would really like to see the dress version.

While I think the suit itself is nice, I’m not sure if I would like to see Alice in a suit for the game. I’m a huge fan of the dresses (probably one of my favorite parts of the game), but a suit feels entirely out of place to me. Even historically, I don’t feel that women at that time period would wear a suit, especially one so modern. As such, it distracts me from focusing on the game. I could be wrong, but that’s just how it feels.

You can't float with a dress either! If you jump off a building with a dress on, I will guarantee you that you will fall straight to the ground and break your legs.

SUIT: The suit is an interesting take. I kind of like the design of it for the most part, except for the ribbon. I feel like the ribbon doesn't really fit the suit, it will look better on a dress or a kimono. I see some people don't like the suit, which I understand as we are too used to seeing Alice in a dress. But I do hope to see the Bargaining Suit in dress form. STORY: Not only that story put things in order, it makes us who we are. Back many centuries ago, story is how we passed down the history and traditions to the future generations. Even our memories with our loved ones and friends are stories. As a matter of fact, our entire life is a story. I am currently playing Final Fantasy XIV. At one point in the Stormblood expansion, the lord of the nation Doma talks with the player and he says this about Doma "We carry her with us, wheresoever we go. Not the land or the soil... but the story. And what is life if not a story? The story of our journey from dawn to dusk, day after day after day. The story of our mothers and our fathers, our families and our friends, our peoples and our nations. [...] Hien, son of Kaien. Another caretaker of the story of Doma." Good luck with EA!

I read and I love!! I feel like I was reading a page In a novel. Which would be an amazing novel if that ever happens. Hmm...I wasn't to keen on the suit at first. So I stared at it for awhile. I think maybe if you shaped the bottom part of the suit top into a bell it would become dress like and suit her well. It could be shorter in the front and longer in the back. I'd have to see that drawn out to know if I'd like it. I was also thinking maybe add a little top hat , but I like the hair pin in the back. It would probably look odd together.

Personally I love the suit but I think "taste" shouldn't matter so I'll try and describe what I read from this costume (most of the times I don't read every post because I don't want to spoil myself but this really struck me): The suit doesn't make her appear more masculine, but stronger and more sophisticated. It rather feels like a costume than the dresses do because we see her more often wearing dresses (which doesn't have to be a bad thing). Considering the time and circumstances she lives in this suit really makes her stand out, but I don't see any reason she couldn't wear this in Wonderland.

Juliane Schotte

The idea of the suit is interesting but something about it doesn't feel quite right. I think it may be something about the trousers in particular, I'm not sure I like them, and I'm not sure it would be as satisfying visually whilst playing - I'm so used to Alice's lovely swishy dresses!! I do like the idea of the swirling Quicksilver though, that would be a really cool visual effect. I do also wonder if it makes Alice appear too old? A 13 year old Victorian girl in a suit doesn't seem quite right. Story notes look good - liking the idea of Alice having a doctor who tried so hard to cure her that is ended in his demise, yet another catalyst for the hefty guilt in young Alice's mind.

Maybe it's just me but I personally like the dress look better for Alice. I think it defines her character. But maybe a more coat and tails looking suit? That's short in the front and buttons like a waist coat but has the long tails in the back...and with that awesome bow on the back i think would look really cool! With more fitted pants and her boots.

Can I just say from a cosplayers standpoint, thanks for making this design. This is amazing for those who don’t feel comfortable cosplaying her dresses, but want to cosplay Alice. This is amazings! Love it!

RED IT ALL! As a designer and a beginner writer, I will say that everything fits. Nothing SHOULD be changed. 1. The Suit fits her fine. Makes it unique, and Hollow Yves looks way cooler than ever (the bowtie on her back, yes he's a character) 2. The chaos is nice as it is. The way I see it at least. 3. Good luck...Hope EA (whomever the team is reading your note) accept your proposal.

Saleh Abu-Rashid

i'd love it if you kept the suit. its very becoming of her, and the design is delightful. (also: thanks for the music rec. eerie and calming at the same time.)

they_walks

I really love the suit! I think it gives a wonderful depth to her. I wonder, if making the waist-down portion of the jacket a bit fuller to sort of mimic the movement of the skirt as she jumps/spins etc would be visually appealing. It's beautiful either way! Great work!

I read the Notes several times and got too many questions and ideas to put into one comment. I like the 1st opening scene. As for the absence of the Chesh: I always thought that Cheshire Cat represents time, age and wisdom at the same time, but while reading the Notes I got the impression that Chesh could be the childhood. Damaged with fire waiting for Alice in some hidden place to be healed and to be transformed (the part of growing up) into something new but familiar at the same time... I like the suit, seems more appropriate for the combat. Will the jacket work the same way as the dress while steam floating?

So about the suit....I LOVE IT <3 I think it looks totally amazing an the reason why Omri picked it instead of a dress makes a lot of sense to me. I can't deny that would love to see a dress-version of it but only for my personal curriosity :D Alice has so many dresses already (and I love every single one of them) , I think we could go with one suit.

Looks really cool!

I want to comment later on the pdf and more provide for to give a in depth opinion. As for the suit, I personally love it. That fact that it's different, and almost experimental. Much like Alice may be doing in her "world". I like seeing Alice in different styles from what we are use to seeing her in. So please don't change it! A dress version would be nice to see but I love the suit and everything about it. Also, hopefully nothing too much will be changed with the chaos dress. I thought that it was perfect and very fitting.

Tori

In my very humble opinion, I would prefer (and LOVE) this as a dress. It's hard to say why... I am a super feminine person so maybe that is influencing me? The aesthetic is AMAZING though.

The hair is amazing it’s perfect for the suit it’s better than the straight hair in every single dress like madness returns

I love the idea and look but not crazy on the pants. I can see this as a two-piece. Maybe with a skirt.

I have to agree with multiple people here and say that I feel conflicted by the suit. It just doesn't feel fitting to the atmosphere. The design however, is great. I really love the back of it. I hope Omri can use that same design in a dress version. I'm positive he can. As for the general storyline idea, I avoided it due to spoilers, so thank you for mentioning it has them. Still, from what I skimped through, it sounds good thus far, American. Looking forward to more. :D

The big question is: How can Alice double-jump/float in trousers?

Make Nine Inch Nails great again

I love the top but the pants aren't my favorite. I believe it would look nicer/fit the time period better with a pencil skirt.

Markus

I think that a suit it should be the difference in the game. I personally like that design. <3

I love the idea of the suit, but I'm not 100% sold on the design of it. Can't quite put my finger on it though. I do like the idea of Alice's psyche being broken up into different worlds- perhaps her father had an Orrery in his study that Alice can latch onto the image of? Or perhaps she's latching onto the memory of a mobile hanging over her crib- did they have those back then?? In any case, I am thrilled to see every step of this journey and look forward to seeing where this rabbit hole takes us.

Rob Burch

Horror at the puffed out shoulders but in every other way this suit is great, especially the legs, which makes the shoulders seem even worse. Like the way the story sketch above is going and can see the idea of making tarot cards serve as links between the worlds becoming plausible. Would be interesting to see if the last seven Sefirot can be related to the seven stages of grief, as they exist on an earthly, conscious plane, then Daath to the eighth, as they seem to fulfil a similar function, but I accept that might all be an over-complication; maybe ideas for another game. Quickliver? Chortle

I am in love with the suit idea brings a whole new mature look and feel to Alice please stay with the suit.

My Fingers are crossed TIGHTLY for a positive reception from EA !!! 🤞🤞

What if the jacket of the suit flared out more like her dress? Pair that with pants that are more like leggings and I think it would look more little-girl-ish. As if she's playing dress-up with her Dads suit jacket.

I love the suit, but all I see is 25yo Alice rather than 13yo Alice. She looks too mature and in control of herself. I would love to see a dress version of this. I really thought the skull was the Jabberwocky head, not a cat. 😅 Need to go through the pdf a few more times before saying anything.

Priscila Nosoma

I think having a suit as one of her outfits is fun and refreshing! I like the idea of not limiting her outfits to dresses. But I think we would all prefer to have the majority of her outfits to be dresses that give her the classic "Alice" silhouette that we all love. But it's nice to have other options! I love the pants. There's something about the top that I'm not into. I think it should be more decorative and maybe instead of being pinned to one side, it could be buttoned down the middle to give a more official or professional look. Curious to hear what other people think.

The design is lovely but I feel a dress better suits the trademark Alice silhouette...

I really like the suit, although I'm not sure how fitting it is in Victorian age London for a girl to wear a suit. Absolutely love the hairstyle!

I love the suit! Looks very proper and serious. Sets a tone we're not quite used to from Alice and i'm interested in seeing how this would play out in the game.

FifthDream

I love her hairstyle; it's a nice change from having it flowing straight. The design on the coat is absolutely mesmerising. The green is perfect and I really like and admire the chains and the ribbon. However I think the suit is a bit too "mature". Especially for a girl who is still trying hold onto her innocence. It would be awesome for an older Alice. But for a 13yr old girl in that time period? I'm not sure. I think it would be better suited as a dress.

DecayingInRed

i really like the suit a lot. It adds something different them just another dress. all the dresses have been visually stunning, but variety adds more the the game. the green and silver go together perfectly and the details and patterns are beautiful. I agree with others that the ribbon on her back could be longer or maybe add coat tails. Now about future designs for outfits if you do one for gold, Au, then might i suggest paring gold with red or purple and also make it a suit and the polar opposite to the mercury suit. if possible and im not sure how you could make an outfit the opposite of another suit... im sure it could be figured out. also a hat wouldnt hurt, its not needed but might add more.

Rick Crow

Maybe add a cape?

Or maybe a cape?

I love this design! If people are torn between the suit and a dress, you could always combine it where you make the back of the jacket long so it becomes a half-skirt? If that makes sense? Anyway, I love it <3

I think it's beautiful but at the same time I'm so used to her dress that it also looks weird! Also I don't know if she keeps her float jump like in madness but if so it wouldn't work so well without a dress. lol It's still very beautiful though.

I honestly prefer a skirt to the pants, it seems really odd but the rest of the theme and design I dig. Maybe keep the coat as it is and have another full skirt like the usual shape underneath if the skirt route is what ends up happening that is. I can definitely see the story and world you guys are building up pretty solidly. Super exciting that it's only 10 days until they arrive with you, that's awesome. I'm super excited to hear how it all goes.

I love the design! I’m just worried that it won’t be as visually interesting once she’s in motion. The dresses look so beautiful when she’s running around and they flow behind her. Maybe make the coat fuller and fit it over a petticoat? Or you could make the hanging ribbon on the bow longer and have them get thicker towards the end so they could add some interest?

Seems Lulu might think those are treats for her! Now for the suit....I’m not sure. I love the silver and mercury designs on the suit. And like the placement of the mercury symbol. Buuut I am not liking that color green. Its the shade of green but not for sure how it would look if it were lighter or darker. Perhaps it’s just the color green I don’t like. Kinda looks like a Harry Potter universe suit (slytherinish). As I said before, I love the silver swirls and the placement of the silver on the back of the suit. Hair looks great love the proffesionalism and the pin look nice. Like the skull but can I ask, why a cat skull? I do like it either way but wasn’t sure if it really makes sense. Now for the story: what I read is amazing and made me even more giddy to see more. I don’t have time to read the pdf right now but will have to get to it soon! Thanks for the awesome update!! See you guys soon!

As much as I like the suit, I think Alice is all about the dress really. Would be cool to see a dress version to compare.

I like the concept but not too big on the trousers. Maybe it’ll take some time to get used to it but I’d like it if available to toggle the pants options

Usagi-Berry

I don't like the suit look I love the colors though!

Way to spoil it, Greg. Now all I see is green sausages (or is your junk sneaking it's way in the game xD)

You could do a suit dress. Im not too crazy about how it looks on her. I love the colors and love the idea of quicksilver/mercery. It would be better as a dress. It also looks a lot similar to slytherin theme.

The shoulders look a bit overbent IMHO. But the suit itself is totally awesome! Keep on the good work.

Sunblaze

The suit is really nice ! Her outftis don't have to be all dresses, its adds variety. But the ribbon looks like a balloon to me and is a bit to big. It's the only thing I would change.

I admit to also feeling it's a bit of a remake? I love the game regardless, so I don't mind. However, I am watching to see how this pushes further than AMR (White Rabbit inspired suit would be sweet!)

Okay, I love the suit. If many feel it isn't good for a main play costume, perhaps save it as an unlockable/end game optional costume. It;s lovely!

Really not sure about the suit. I like the design, but she's always been in dresses and I love her dresses. I do love that it seems you are going to do more with her hair. That makes me very happy it's a nice addition

I've read the pdf a few times and while I have plenty of thoughts/questions that would make this post too long for Martin to read, my main thing is in one sentence, what is Alice achieving in this game that is different from what she achieved in AMA? That's going to be the question any outsider asks about Asylum and “why is this game needed” and right now (maybe I'm a bit dense) I can't seem wrap my brain around the difference in what she is set to do here and what she will accomplish in AMA.

The suit is amazing! Love it! 💗 As for the pdf I'm enjoying the story so far but I'm hoping we will jump in and out wonderland at points within the story. I love scene 2 at the beginning because it just works with how she feels. I can't wait for the next live stream! Good luck with EA💗

I'm not entire sure about the suit. It is a nice design and I understand the reasoning behind it being a suit but it doesn't seem right. In AMR there was a white rabbit dress that looked a bit like a suit, maybe you could use something like that. I read though the PDF and it sounds really good. There are some elements that seem a little off. For example the two nurses gossiping about Alice while standing right over her doesn't seem right, maybe they're in the hallway outside Alice's room and she overhears That's all from me See you at stream

I think the suit gives variety for cosplayers and really like it. However, it suits Alice's later personality, not 13 year old Alice.

RozaMay

I love the colors and the details; however it doesn't feel like Alice with it being a suit. Would love to see it redone as a dress.

Christine Phillips

To me once it doesn't feel very "Alice" - its not very "period", your alice still holds a vaguely victorian feel and the suit just doesn't feel right. Women typically didn't wear suits then, certainly not ones *designed* for a woman as this looks and not a modern-fashionable looking suit like the one drawn. However I can imagine a rebelious and strong willed alice wearing trousers - but I think she would look more like the artful dodger from Oliver, and that might look fab, also with a hat to compliment/balance/contrast with hatters own. just my $0.02

I don't really feel Alice in this suit (or the hair). I think it sends a vibe way to "formal". I imagine that all the dresses are imagine by Alice , dressing herself , and i dont really think a 13 years old girl would imagine herself dressed like this, i think it would look much more "chaotic" . Also i always think of Alice in a more "psychedelic" way, because of all the trauma , and she being in a old school asylum , she probably being fed all types of drugs from them and i think that would probably mess with her dream/coma as well. So i loud kinda like to she how would a dress more inspire by that would look. A dress that flew over the cuckoos nest :) Thinking about the story i think its really nice, her creating an alternative ending in an imaginary place would definitely be something that a 13 years old girl would do after such trauma. ( I recommend seeing the movie Tideland if you've never seen it, its a Terry Gilliam movie about this subject and i its amazing)

I am in LOVE with the suit!!!! It looks so amazing, and it’s a very nice change for Alice’s wardrobe! The description you posted also reminded me how excited I am for Asylum!!! I cannot wait to see the feedback from EA, and hopefully they’ll be just as positive as we are!

duuuuuuude. freakin love this suit. all the dresses are great, but it's awesome to get a little stylistic variety in there now and again

I like the suit! It's a nice change of pace from the usual dresses. Though, I would like to see a dress version of the suit as well.

While the idea of the suit is neat, I would prefer a dress with the same colors. Since we see so much of Alice from the back, I have always enjoyed the flow of the skirt movement. Pants are a bit static and not as much to look at. Thank you for keeping us in the loop and giving us a chance to voice opinions!

Its nice to see a other type of outfit other than a dress. I never thought about Alice in a suit before but I think it goes with the idea and inspiration of the hatter. Really loving all of these new designs and as a cosplayer I cant wait to dig into making them ❤ amazing team

I quite like the color palette of the suit, but would like to see the same idea in a dress for comparison's sake. As is, something seems odd about it that I can't place...though maybe it's that the ribbons hanging down from the skull are shaded in such a way to look like thick green sausages. Seeing as nearly all the designs so far have stepped away from the classic knee-high boots, is the intent that she only earns/upgrades to that at the end of the story? Looking forward to sitting down and going through the PDF a few times before commenting on that!

I think the only thing I don't like about the suit is the scarf. Maybe a subtle purple instead of orange? If it does become a dress PLEASE keep all those beautiful silver details and the cat skull! Also would maybe like to see the jacket longer with some kind of lace or frills underneath to keep it somewhat girly and a little less mature young woman. The Darkening dress is my favorite, but could stand some more silver detailing so it doesn't blend into itself and any dark areas in map.

Destiny Jenson

Not a fan of the suit. Although I do like the design, make it into a dress instead. The suit just makes her seem out of place like a spoiled rich girl or something. (Veruca Salt vibes) Does not suit her.

I'm going to try to keep this short, but no promises. About the notes: The first piece of dialogue, I prefer version 2. It reeks of guilt and victim blaming + resembles the tone in A:MR. About the transition from coma to shattered Wonderland in AMA, maybe she drifts in and out of Wonderland. She tries to fix it, but gets pulled back to the Asylum at critical moments. We see flashes of what's being done to her in the Asylum, various tortures experiments, that damages her and in extension Wonderland, more than it helps + it leaves Wonderland to fend for itself in a civil war-like state. I wrote this comment to Omri about the suit: Yes. A million times YES to the suit! Love it! It emphasizes how different she is from everyone else, since in those days, I don't think women wore pants or dealt in business. It also feels both very Victorian and very Indian to me, which is only fitting.

I love the suit! I do like all of her dresses but it would be nice to see her in something different.

The PDF is fabulous and I love how it’s all come together. I like the idea of a suit but I’m a big lover of dresses so I’d prefer a dress version personally.

Honestly im not sure i like it. The designs great and i love the detailing and the colours, just i think because im so used to her always wearing dresses its a big side step for my brain to see the suit as part of Alice or her style.

Time period might be a bit off for the suit, styling looks to be a closer match to the early-1800s as opposed to period of the story, but that can go either way depending on how the suit is introduced and in what sort of place. That said, I like it a lot. Certainly a deviation from the norm, but isn't that what we all love about your work? Something fancier, higher-class materials...yes one might find bargaining easier in such a thing.

I think the suit works perfectly for that world. Unless the world has more of a tea party theme then a dress would be better.

I love the suit! it is awesome! great to get her in things different than just dresses!, also the suit makes sense! Bargaining is done in business all the time

Dasix

I love the Alice notes, it's so cool we get to read them! I perfer Version 1 on the opening cinematic, over all I'm very happy with the notes, I'm really excited to see what you come up with next :) I like the suit, but Alice does look older in it, perhaps Omri should do a dress version to compare, and see if Alice looks younger? Either way I think it will look great in the game.

i'm a bit worried with EA, the way they've been acting recently kinda scares me that there not going to accept the pitch or something?

I don't think she looks old. She looks like a prissy child from a rich family. I think the hair even makes her look younger. However maybe if the pants were a tiny bit wider she would look more child-like.

Marek Haring

I like the suit, but I think it looks a bit too mature on her. She certainly doesn't look 13 here (but it could also be the hair). I just quickly read through the Alice Notes, I kinda like both versions for the opening cinematic, maybe they can be combined? Also, I like how only the first and last levels are the ones Alice visits in order, but I'm not sure whether it's a good idea to make ALL other levels immediately available after the first one. I would personally be kinda overwhelmed with choice and wouldn't know where to start. Maybe you could do it like Kingdom Hearts did: first, make the first few levels available, and after those are completed, make the last few available.

I like the suit. Can you try with the jacket open? Did you see/get inspiration from actress Lily Elsie? She wore suit.

As to the suit: love it, absolutely love it. As to listening to Radiohead while reading Alice concepts: my year has literally been made. This whole twisted universe always struck me as very Amnesiac-esque and now it has been acknowledged. P E R F E C T I O N.

I absolutely love - i stress LOVE - the suit. I think its a nice change and much as i'm a sucked for a classic Alice dress, its nice to see it changed up! I think the colour is gorgeous and the attention to detail is stunning.

Right now it looks strangely like a dress/suit hybrid and the shape of the jacket looks unnatural; maybe tone down the puffy shoulders? Or play up the dress part more? Otherwise I love the colour and accents in this, keep up the good work!

It's... nice, but too serious and official for a little girl. I'd add a longer skirt to the current suit and it would be better i think.

I love the suit. It's different and very nicely thought out. There is however a but and that is that it may not be as familiar for people as a dress or even just a skirt. I showed my partner the picture and it took him a while to realize it was Alice. It's rare to see Alice without a dress in any wonderland related media. So it is a good way to step away from the traditional thing but it really feels like one of those things where people either love it or hate it and there is no inbetween.

Absolutely love the suit! <3 It's something unexpected and different and it looks amazing. And maybe something for the male cosplayers.

I like the suit as a design, however, being Alice, I think I would prefer a dress. That being said I'd love to see the dress version, especially if it were somehow able to keep the side parting like the bottom of the jacket

The only thing about alice in a suit is the time period women didnt really wear suits. The way I could see it working better would be if the suit was more masculine and kind of tied in to the doctor from the last games suit. Alice in a suit should feel more like a little girl playing dress up in daddy's clothes rather than fully her own outfit.

Lovin’ everything about it. May just be because I think women in suits looks amazing. By honestly, this looks gorgeous. Thumbs up from me.

It looks strange at a first sight, I'm not used to see Alice in a suit. I don't know why I would prefer a dress, but I like originality and diversity, so I'm not sure...

The suit is beautiful! I would like to see how a dress in that design would look, but no complaints at all if the suit makes it to the game. 💚🖤 loving all the designs so far, I'm excited to see more 😁

I appreciate the artist’s insight with using a suit to reflect her bargaining stage of her life but she can still have a business attire with a skirt. Feminine wear suits Alice the best. Please reconsider the design. :)

I love the suit but she looks too old and in control of her life which doesn't really fit. Everything about it is great, if it just had a skirt instead of trousers

I believe very strongly that you should always try new things and be adventurous with your character design. So for me, if its different and there was passion put behind it, I already love it

I love Omri’s design for a suit and the reasoning behind it, that bargaining is like a business deal. Also really liking that the levels in the game will be planets, could make for a really nice interactive map screen.

I love the suit but would be interested to see how it looks as a dress

I really like the top half/jacket, The (Cat?) skull on the back is cool, although I 'm not sold on the trousers or what's going on with the Bow tails. Maybe try it with a skirt?

I love the suit. It feels like a Doctor Strange feel! BUT! I feel like when I look at Alice, she looks (To me) 23. I don't think its the suit but maybe the hair? I don't know, also looking back at worlds that was created for Alice Asylum; wasn't the bargaining level a playground theme with mad hatter's house in it? If she gets a different outfit for the playground area then I can understand with the suit. I just feel she looks older and wondering how the suit will match the stage as a whole. Other than that; its fantastic!

I honestly would like the possibility of a wider variety of outfits. The dress designs are very cool but something unexpected like this is very exciting.

I like the suit. Maybe could revisit the pants and make them less tailored and more like the wider skirt pants that became popular at a later time in this era for riding? Additionally, maybe either bell out the jacket to be more dress like or give her some long coattails? I think having elements of flowyness is important to keep with the flightyness of her mental state/childlike nature I think she needs a hat as well. Either a tiny top hat sat askance or a hat more fitting of the time period for a young lady. I believe maybe a pinned headpiece matching the suit could do nicely. Fingers crossed for the mail. Blessed be

I really love this suit, not sure how I feel about the pants. I think they're okay but I think I would prefer a dress. And the hair is stunning!

I do love the design but i'm not sure about the suit. I think it's too sophisticated for a girl like alice, it makes her too "mature" I believe. But the colors et pattern are really beautiful !

the suit is challenging my perceptions of what Alice “should” look like. standalone, non-Alice, I like it. I need more time to form a proper opinion of it though.

I like the idea of Alice in a suit and i really love the green color but i am not a fan of the skull (it just looks off to me) and maybe the pants are a bit weird i don't know XD I think a side by side (suit vs. dress) would help a lot here!

The suit is really badass, but I can imagine that a dress in that same design would be even more incredible!

Oh WOW - I like that suit A LOT!!!!!!
