Millie, Emma, and Omri, OH MY!

When you shared a lot of Alice cosplayers a few month ago I was pretty upset. Not because of you. My friend (who's not anymore) send you a cosplay from her girlfiend. I helped him in the inspiration, in prepairing a lot and he did not even showed my name, taken all the credits under his name - sarmai. I wrote to you guys (Facebook Asylum staff) to remove at least the author's link but the answer was "they don't understand me." What? Maybe my english not the best, but my asking was really simple. Give the credit to the cosplayer but remove the author's link. Nothing happened. It hurted me. I understand this cosplayer.

Omri wrote me a note to say he'd been contacted by the cosplayer. He said "hey! i made a mistake by using someone's cosplay image that i didn't know was trademarked. so we talked and she OKied it with the trademark. so i'm re-sending you the image of Emma watson. it's in your email with the correct dredit." - I have now replaced the image in this post with the image containing the proper credit to that cosplayer. We've had similar controvsersies arise in the past. There was an instance with Ozombie where a Spicy Horse artist used an image from Zdzisław Beksiński to create a concept image and didn't note the source of the original elements being used. Lots of reasons this sort of thing can happen - not always out of malice or with ill intent. While I strongly believe credit and proper use of someone's material is important - it's also interesting to note that we're all sitting here talking about a concept image for a property based on a public domain book, based on a game, based on a cosplay, and which then uses a photo manipulation of Emma Watson (certainly without her permission). There are concepts at work here such as fair use, public domain, etc... across several sources and artists. While we should strive to attirbute credit where credit is due, we should also recognize the generally "public" nature of the materials we're working with in the first place. We'd not even be here if a bit of borrowed inspiration wasn't happening quite often ;)

They didn't create it, it's from the second game. EA owns the rights to all that stuff so I don't know why they think they deserve credit. They dressed up like something someone else created.

Why is Alice left-handed?

I guess credit would be nice, but not mandatory. Do you have proof the cosplayer was never contacted ? maybe she/they were..... or do you just assume ?

Portrayal of both actress look quite interesting. I wonder why Omri decided to go with those eye colors. I think someone or a few people suggested Martin from the livestream to be portrayed as Alice.

Amanda Seyfried with a British accent? Gemma Ward or AnnaSophia Robb? I do wish we had more game talk than movie potential Alice :( It shifts ideas into different places. Something like a graphic novel with the Alice created for the game would be super cooler than a movie imo. Love the work regardless guys! It's always a pleasure to view!

I agree with David. Kaya scolediero would be perfect. Judge her by skins, not the new pirates movie and you’ll see why. Kaya or Emily Browning are my votes

I like the Emma Watson look however I agree with the other comments her acting is what worries me honestly.

I belive Emma W. won't fit in this role (even if she's famous and will attract audience), someone with a cold/stern but sweet in the same time beauty is what will scream alice to me (amy lee from evanescence really have this look even if she's not an actress) so someone with the same kind of feature will works!

Please, not Emma Watson. Her acting is almost as bad as that woman from twilight. She ruined one of my favourite Disney films and just doesn't have the charisma required to pull off Alice.

We need a compilation photo album of all these Alice's! I'm sure there's one I seen while American and Martin were doing the live stream and looking them up.. I will need to revisit this and find the girls name... I think whoever is Alice should have dark brown hair like on the Alice Madness game (which I'll admit for the longest time I thought was black!)

Oh dear Lord NOT Emma! After his dismal portrayal of Belle, she would ruin Alice. She is a "thin skinned" drama princess (not even talented enough for a queen) Millie! Millie! Yes! I actually binged watched Stranger Things BECAUSE of her. She can be vicious, dangerous, loving, tender, mysterious and most important OMG SHE CAN ACT! I loved her almost a much as Alice herself.

Def feeling more Millie than Emma. Emma just feels, too stable. And she's too recognizable. I'd want someone to BE Alice, just Alice. Not hermione and Alice y'know? She's an amazing character and I would hate for her to be "just another franchise role" for an already huge actress. I'd want someone that's gonna pour their heart and soul into this that can really personify the character both in looks and acting.

Millie actually screams "Alice" for me. Her eyes give off a more mysterious look.

Definitely not feeling Millie Bobby Brown, but I think Emma Watson could play a good Alice, if given similar make-up as Alice in Madness Returns. In Omri's image she has more of a red carpet look

I think Emma works better than Millie. They are both great actresses and both images are awesome (Omri doesn't do less than that), bot none of them really scream Alice to me. I'm not sure if Emma could pull of the rage and madness properly. She might be too sweet. She might do an awesome job. Again, I still think Fiona Douriff is the best candidate. Looking forward to the livestream! (:

I definitly feel Millie works more than Emma. Also, yay for another live :). Millie actually played young Alice briefly for the short spin off series Once Upon a Time in Wonderland.

Live Stream is returning?! *GASP Reminder. Set. I have to agree with the other David here, Kaya Scodelario all the way! I watched Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and just kept thinking, she could perhaps be the most perfect Alice... While paying all my attention to this woman, I forgot to pay attention to the plot, thus forcing me to rewatch the entire film. Oh, joy. As for these photo manipulations, they are stunningly amazing like always. I could see the actresses in the world of Wonderland, just not as Alice herself. Still, keep up the good work!

I think the Millie one is a good shout after seeing that. Plus shes about the right age (At least shes about Alice Asylum age right now)

Kala Scudelario from Skins/Maze runner/the new POTC would the perfect Alice IMO. English, Big eyes, excellent young actress who ticks all the boxes and look no further than her performances as Effy in Skins for a troubled young woman.

They are both very beautiful mashups but neither of them are Alice, at least not for me.

Millie all the way! She is young but so talented and definitely able to play tortured characters, I'm not really getting the "Alice vibe" from Emma Watson... My favourite I have seen so far though is Emily Browning - she would be perfect for Alice!

Emma Watson definitely of the two. Millie Bobbie Brown has too innocent a face. Alice has experienced some real trauma... Millie just gives me the impression of a lost puppy, oblivious to the darkness. I’m not sure if Emma is the right fit but of the two, she is a better fit.

My thoughts exactly. Using Watson's poor portrayal as "Belle" from the new rehash of Disney's Beauty and the Beast is anything to go off of she would be awful. The other actress is not selling it either for me. I think a good idea would be to stick actresses with expressive eyes, like Lily Collins. Also Lily Collins can play a myriad of roles.

Emily browning is by far the one who has screamed alice to me. Her role in the uninvited for example was a major can of cool beans.

For me neither actresses fit. Millie is too young to put the level of darkness alice needs, and also i don’t think she has the right look. Emma is a complete wrong direction for me. Her acting is wooden at best and she has too much of a sweet and good reputation and a girl next door face. I’d be more inclined to think along the lines of gal gadot or someone who can hold a darker persona with ease

Emma Looks pretty, but I think Emma could be a little too old to be Alice, that just my opinion though.

Oh my GOD. Millie would be perfect for this role. She's young and very talented. I think she's one of the hottest names out there, that would be a huge boost for Alice film. I'm surprised how I like Emma too though!
