Chaos, Tiers, Art, Woods, and Game Play!

Sooo much going on these days! I've been running around and working like mad since returning to Shanghai. Here's the breakdown:

1) I've adjusted the Patreon Tiers - removed the $50 and $100 levels and compressed those into a single $75 tier. In that tier you get a Chaos Necklace (one time) and a monthly art print. I've also added (per Patron suggestion) a $35 tier which, every three months, grants you a previously released art print of your choice. If you were at the $50 or $100 level previously, please manually change your pledge to a new level.

2) Added a Patreon goal at 555 Patrons (we're at 400 now) where we'll print, number, and autograph an "Inmate Certificate" and mail that to all 555 Patrons. If you've seen our Mysterious Collector Certificates then you'll know the sort of thing we're talking about...

3) Chaos Necklaces have left the factory and are on their way to our logistics partner in Shenzhen! That means we'll soon start shipping those to Mysterious customers and Patrons who are (were) at eligible levels. These things are gorgeous - your patience in waiting for them to be manufactured will be handsomely rewarded!

4) Tons of progress being made on setup and prep for Pirate Jam 2018. We put together a Facebook page for the event and are working on route maps, gift bags, and other fun stuff. Maybe we'll offer some Pirate Jam branded stuff for sale at Mysterious... anyone interested? In case you aren't aware, Pirate Jam is a game jam I put together in Thailand where we invite developers from around the world to hop aboard a fleet of sailboats for a week of sailing, coding, and fun in the sun. Arg, matey!

5) Moving quickly towards production-ready cards, book, instructions, and boxes for Out of the Woods. Really excited to see elements like the collector level wooden card box... Want to get your hands on all the OOTW stuff? Head over to the pre-order shop and grab your game, book, playmat, etc - NOW!

6) Uhhh... there was something else we were working on...

Shit. I forgot...

Dallas the Blunderhand? Palace of Underpants? Chalice of Plundered Spam...

Oh! Alice in Wonderland! Right...

So, Joey sends along a bunch of artwork which we're refining for inclusion in the EA Presentation...

We're pushing to have a selection of key images which sell the overall concept plus smaller supporting images which communicate the game play. Added to this will be sections outlining our plans for funding, marketing, development, and leveraging of the IP (merch, film, etc). Martin and I are starting to shape the presentation now.

We've also had several meetings and calls with various parties interested in helping us crowdfund, wanting to invest directly, and/or offering their development/publishing services for Asylum. Lots of good progress all 'round!

We'll have another live stream this week over on my YouTube channel so keep an eye out for the timing announcement. That should be posted around various Facebook pages, twitter, etc, tomorrow-ish.

Chaos, Tiers, Art, Woods, and Game Play!

Comments

It's been a while since I've been on here, I've been busy, but its looking super great! Some interesting ideas were presented and they are presented pretty cleanly! Can't wait to see what more you will present.

Love the work, looking forward to the Alchemy Keys too! I am really excited about the "Inmate Certificate", it will be my 1st ever Alice related collectors piece, hopefully will be able to afford more in time. You have said that you'll number the certificates when you reach the goal of 555 patreons, and I was wandering are you going to number them in the patreon order (e.g. 1st Patreon gets a card that says 1st, the 100th gets 100 on their card and so on) or is it going to be in a random order?

So much stuff!!! Looking forward to getting my Chaos necklace. The refined art looks really good. Hope they can get EA to say yes. As for the art prints, I'm thinking that all of the art in the last image should be art prints. Since Wonderland, Red Queen's Castle Exterior, and The Hatter's Lab are art prints, so I thought, why not all of them for art prints.

Is it wrong that I want it to be 666 patrons for the certificate or am I just being devilish? Has there been any more thought of getting a wiki or even just a faq setup on your site? That way you don't have to keep answering the same questions about EA, Dress, Loot-boxes, Multiplayer, etc and just have everyone in chat yell "Check the faq!" I think there would be enough people willing to help out with it (maybe tie it to a reward level so you know people are not just going to run away with it) but you also do not want to have as you said a few people running the show on it either.

And what prints are available to choose from at the $35 tier?

Curious: do we get to know what the monthly print is ahead of time or is it completely random? :)

Thank you for adjusting the Patreon tiers, I have just upgraded to the $35 tier and looking forward to picking and receiving an art print in three months’ time. Also, looking forward to when the next Patreon goal is reached and receiving an “Inmate Certificate”. (I have also finished working on a wallpaper for Asylum, based on the ‘Get into the painting concept: <a href="https://imageshack.com/i/pnMDWFwfj" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://imageshack.com/i/pnMDWFwfj</a> and this is not a picture of my junk, unless I have uploaded the wrong image :P also sorry for the poor quality, everywhere I have upload it too, has ended up looking like this)

If I could pick only two things to keep, then it's be 1. speeding/slowing time, and 2. walking into paintings. All of Joey's storyboards get the noggin' joggin,' but I would really love these two aspects in the game. And imagine the optical illusions you could do with the paintings...

Seeing those certificates on the mailing list finally made me get my butt in gear and sort out my payment method problems on Patreon so I can finally properly pledge! It may not be a lot, but I hope every little bit helps anyway. The presentation for EA looks awesome so far as well, can't wait for this week's livestream!

Wow, yes, this would fit SO perfect with everything! :D

Wow, wow and another double wow! The certificates sounds really cool. I'm SO excited about the gameplay ideas! I love the addition of childrens games like whack-a-mole and that ball in the maze thing (had one myself as a kid). It fits so well with Alices age at the time, some nostalgia on my part and general good fun! (: EA will be nuts, to not say "yes, go ahead McGee" to this proposal.

Please manually change your pledge level to the new one you'd prefer to be at.

If I'm listed at the $50 tier do I need to manually change it, Or does it do it automatically?

Sounds like nothing but good news to me, wolf box looks awesome. Looks like proposal stuff is shaping up beautifully. As usual will be ready for the next live stream :), love watching you and Martin's humorous back and forths. Also, the pirate jam bag is quite cute.

I freaking loved the 35 tier reward, and an inmate certificate? YES, PLEASE! So much updates and gorgeous images. I need to get the hatter's domain art print for myself, it's absolutely breathtaking! Can't wait to the next live.

So much awesome stuff! So glad to see things moving in the directions they are going! Also, Squeeee!! Updated pledge to highest tier. Now I can squeeze and snuggle the great images I keep seeing!

Glad to see my idea of the $35 tier with the other Patrons ideas implemented added in! 3 for 1! I love it! I'll most likely be bumping up to that next month. So happy! Oh, Inmate Certificates? For us? Yes, please! I'll try my best to see if I can get some more supporters too. Also, great news on the Chaos necklaces! I can't wait to buy one for myself soon. So many unbirthday presents this year! I'll have to host a tea party soon.. Lots of good progress! Can't wait for the live stream!

The wolf box is freakin' cool. Speaking of gameplay, I did some research on something you mentioned that you could see being incorporated into gameplay a few months ago, old victorian candies. It's interesting because the candy-making process for the 1860s/70s is pretty Alice-y. They used basically molten sugar, like lava, and pulled in through a steam-punkesque mold and press to make crystallized candy. Anyway, I made a couple of pictures showing off some of the sweets they had back then and how they could be implemented. Not even a suggestion, really, just something I wanted to bring up. <a href="https://imgur.com/a/Jovte" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://imgur.com/a/Jovte</a> (two pictures in there) Not images of my junk. I know it's in imgur, sorry, we'll have to find a better way to host images for you guys.

So much stuffs!!! I love the more refined gameplay art! So cute! And I'm so happy with the way things are moving!!!!
