Melanie suckled her thumb blissfully unaware. In her dreams she was the most beautiful princess in a dazzling sparkly pink dress and a gleaming silver tiara.
In real life she was nothing more than Mommy’s baby girl: soft toys, pinafore dresses, bottles of warm milk and jars of mushy brightly coloured baby food.
Her dreams provided the perfect escapism from her reparative life of drooling onto a bib. When she awakes again she’ll be thrust back into the real life of finding a cold wet puddle surrounding her.
