Goblins!

This past Tuesday I spent a lot of the day trying to figure out what goblins will look like in this world. I went to a website full of candid portraits of average folks and would "goblin-fy" ones I thought looked interesting. Once I got about eight of those, I realized that they still seemed a little too human, maybe half-goblin at best, so I took most of the designs and pushed them further, exaggerating proportions and the like to get--in my opinion--a more monstrous visage. I'm pretty happy with the results!
Next up will be figuring out what their armor and weapons will look like.

To get super inside-baseball on it, one of the things I'm really juggling is how I want to handle combat and death in this story, since it IS a fantasy adventure and that WILL be a major element. I like the ideas of the monsters being just that: monsters, so the morality isn't super questionable right out of the gate, but still explorable if I so choose. I think the original designs would be great for a story where you want to address the reality that "goblins are people, too" but that's not really what I'm going for, so pushing the designs leaves them a little more "monster-y."
