On the eve of winter solstice, people celebrate the Night of Death, wearing masks of their own design as they dance and sing, paying tribute to those who have died that year. Whatever food is uneaten at the accompanying feast is burned in the pyre, also as tribute to the dead.
The following day is the Day of Life, in which handmade gifts are shared among the living. A much more simple and happy affair.
Merry Christmas, everyone. I would say Happy Holidays but this is clearly a Christmas-themed image.
