What’s been done?

Remember how I talked about homestretches and locking in?.. So.. Yea.. Kinda locked in hard again T.T.. I figured I’d write a post after the build releases, but the closer we get the more issues and changes pop up.. It’s a bit hard to figure out what’s been done at this point as well, since it’s been so long.. I’ve probably cleared over a 100 cards on Trello, and I often fix stuff on the fly as well, so no tracking that.. But yea, while I’ve been quiet on here, I’ve been plenty busy working ^^

Just.. So much.. Not where to begin.. The dev tool I guess? Well, it started with just allowing to edit the dialog ingame but I’ve since also added doll editing to it as well. So Newman can now rewrite lines while playing through the game and also change any part of the dolls and save it directly to the file. This saves us a WHOLE lot of time going back and forth between us, the old tool and the Google doc. All that’s left is to allow for scene editing, audio and adding/removing dolls and lines. Kinda wanna work on those already but it’s better if I focus my attention on finishing the build :P. We also started using Github, so we can just sync our files on the fly. This means Newman can change lines without me having to figure out where they are and even replace images (as long as they don’t require repositioning). It also means I no longer need to make a new build and upload it for every little change. This in combination with the new ingame dev tool has really increased our workflow A LOT.

There’s also been a lot of recoding of old stuff. For example, the combat needed some retouching as a lot of the work on it had been done over a year ago and turns out I forgot to take some things into account T.T.. So I had to do some updates to the game, as I make most of the combat stuff in a separate project folder. I redid the way the target crosshair is displayed, so it can’t fuck off into the corner sometimes, changed how the alien animations for Ben’s move get loaded in and made sure the buttons don’t go outside of their intended areas. I also finished implementing the new smoother throwing animation, really happy with how that turned out ^^. We got some new items and some enemies with new moves as well so there’s a lot of new stuff I had to write and boi.. Whenever I see the hot Italian mess that is the combat code, I die a bit inside.. So much spaghetti code T.T

Needed to make some changes to the wardrobe background as well. A new top was added that’s see-through and doesn’t work with the normal bra, but had to work with some other tops. So we moved some tops to the bra section and of course, now I needed to figure out a way to make that work but ONLY with that top. Nothing a few exceptions can’t fix though and while I was working on it I fixed the issue with the leggings as well. Now there is no way you can “accidentally” have her without bottoms and leggings =D. We also split the computer up into pieces, originally it was just one big JPG but we split off the desktop background, the frame, the icons and even added a folder for some future funs ^^.

The lust/corruption system has also seen a change. Corruption can only go up now and is used to unlock scenes, while lust will unlock options inside those scenes and increases cam revenue. While it will be easier to raise lust now, it will also go down a lot more but in the end, it should make for a more fun experience. Sadly, this does mean a bunch of recoding for me and also breaking old saves as there’s no way to set them to the correct new values of corruption and lust.

This will be the last full save wipe though. While I always try and keep saves compatible, there will be times that it’ll be out of my hands. When next it happens, I’ll be adding jumps to the start of each version so you can immediately jump into the new content (or the older stuff if you so wish) without having to go through it all. I’m not sure what I’ll set the values to though, if it’ll be the most optimal path with more lust and stuffs or just the average. I also won’t be leaving you with a lot of money, so you’d have to punch some baddies if you want items and extra clothes :P

Well, time for another attempt to break my homestretch focus cause lord knows I got more than enough other stuff to do T.T. Even removed the creative stuff cause yea.. That ain’t happening. Don’t know what else to say here though. The bullet points are pretty clear on what’s left, mostly just issues Newman comes across in his test run. And I will be doing a stream somewhere this week for the XIX stuff. Not sure when, but it won’t be in the 2 days as they’ll FINALLY be insulating my walls (a week before winter ends..).. So yea, you’ll see a stream post somewhere this week. And the next report won’t take this long, I promise T.T.
