I-LAND - Episode 2

I-LAND - Episode 2

I’m so glad that global audience and producers get to pick because they can more objectively evaluate the skills and charms of the trainees. If the trainees just vote on who they like it’s very different and doesn’t always make the best group line up. Just a thought. You often need someone very different from yourself to balance a group.

Kiki

At a young age, Ni-Ki got so much hate for voting for Taki even though he told him he would do it. I have yet to understand how EJ escaped it regarding Daniel.

Ok. 2nd half thoughts 😂. I stopped less than a min before ground started being video evaluated and you spoke in the ironic differences. I found my timing of when I stopped ironic. I could have saved you half the novel above lol. Just a couple extra things. Taki. He’s the most precious. Anyone not liking Taki I don’t trust 🤣. The question on practicing on the moving stage. We know they did at least once because Rain said that was a part of why they were there at midpoint. To get familiar with the moving stage. Now, I’m not sure if they had additional access for the rest of the week practicing, but they definitely did with Rain helping them. Show does a good job of simulating things you will encounter as an idol. They are always going up and down lifts and stairs and who knows what on a concert stage. That’s all for now. Thank you and have a great weekend!

I appreciate your stream of consciences Melissa! Sometimes as a reactor I'm saying exactly what you'd expect to hear from me but in my head...and not realizing I didn't actually say it out loud lol. Youngbin should know that regardless of this being a survival show filmed for the public or attaining privately that he's gonna have to be evaluated regardless. "Now he's in prison and I don't like him at all" is crazzzzy, I literally just spat my coffee out reading that 😭😭😭😭😂 I understand why Jay may not like this episode. He didn't sound the best. And he felt kicked to the curb by not being chosen for the parts he wanted. But damn, boy has a fierce attitude (something I've come to appreciate since getting into ENHYPEN) and you just cannot deny his ambition. Poor Ni-Ki! Am I gonna worry a lot for him in this show?? (Don’t answer that, I'll find out soon enough 😭).

Ooooooo I'll have to check that out after I'm done with the show!

About Sunoo, it turns out that he was physically weak at the time due to health issues. I think the other contestants saw that lack of stamina and that is why they voted for him. I think Younbin should not have been in ILand, and should have been in ground. Not only was it a lack of self-confidence but, a lack of understanding about kpop and what it entails. I remember when this aired, and I remember being upset with K and all his derogatory comments about Heeseung. K is the oldest here and very influential to the younger members, and his talking negatively about Heeseung's dancing style, showed how immature K was. You can also see that K is a master manipulator, in that when he wants something, like not voting for a new center, he gets all cutesy and pretends like he is bashful. I like K now in &Team, but I have to say that I really disliked his manipulating ways for a long time. I think all the Ilanders made a mistake in thinking that whoever got position 1, was to lead the others in dance and singing. I think it would have been better if they picked someone to lead the dance and another person to lead in the vocals. Last, I think the architectural style is industrial modern

Enhypen and &Team actually did a collab stage a while ago where they performed Into The I-Land and One In a Billion together! They also both posted behind the scenes videos for it on their respective YouTube channels, it was so cute!!

I’m at the part Hee and Ni-Ki just switched parts, and I have to go, so I’m sure I’ll have more to add after watching the 2nd half lol. But for up to this point thoughts: Sunoo- you mentioned 2 reasons for voting. I’m adding a third as Jay states this for his reasoning. And that’s just whose personality/effort you want to be with 24/7/365 on a team. There are things mentioned in episode 7 that I think clarify a lot for audience AND the participants, and create a bit of understanding for the participants previously lacking. But I’ll let you wait until then to comment more 🤐. Ni-Ki - yes, he just got intimidated when it was time to volunteer for part 1. He’s the 2nd youngest, barely even a teen, surrounded by older guys in a very age oriented hierarchy. And everyone in the room is talented, so while he often shows drive well beyond his years, I think it’s also natural to sometimes let your age show. Jay- he hates thinking about I-Land and mostly because of this episode. But this is where we all fall in love with him and he becomes top contender. So while he felt humiliated, in the end, it showed his drive, determination and never give up attitude that you can’t help being drawn too. Especially in a survival show. Jake and Youngbin- This is where Jake became my bias and Youngbin… the difference in their attitude was glaring. Both struggling and knowing they are behind in skill from everyone else, but one said “let’s go practice” and the other had a fit because he was evaluated. In a survival show. I am actually an empath, so others tears usually make me cry with them, but this was just so outside realism I just couldn’t. I was just thinking, sorry bud, you should maybe reconsider your career choice. Being an idol is HARD. If you can’t handle 11 peers watching you and giving both encouragement and feedback on how to be better, you’ll never make it through 55,000 Engenes in a Japan concert dome watching your every move and let’s not even get close to the TikTok edits and anti tweets. The other part I did not understand is from what I gather, all trainees have monthly evals, on their own, with people much more in command of making or breaking your ability to even continue training. One on one evals is not some uncommon, crazy practice. I’m sure he was tired, but from here on I liked him but also knew he needed to wait on debut until he could handle eyes on him. Now he’s in prison and I don’t like him at all, so don’t get invested 😂. Whew, I warned you. I have thoughts on this show lol. Hopefully that will be all for this episode. We’ll see when I have time to continue later 🤣. As always, appreciate you and the time you spent watching these “with us”.
