Stargaze - Louis/Ibuki Devour

I had to put this on hold while I was finishing the spring comic, but it was on my mind all month. When I started the devours, one of the things I liked best was the spiritual exchange symbolism. In this sense, even a herbivore killing carnivore incident can have the elements of devouring.

So when I approached this image, I didn't want to play with the idea of Ibuki eating Louis (that was a previous Devour anyway) but instead, if Louis had shot Ibuki before Free got there. The way Ibuki sacrificed himself for the sake of Louis' strength foreshadows when Louis offered the 'poisoned' part of himself for Legosi's battle winning strength... to me anyway~

(And of course, I gave a wee nod to the Gentle Comet imagery)
