This is another long multi-parter (five), so I think I'll switch back to individual episodes for a while after this. This is nearly four hours of entertainment, so it is great value for money. It's also the only Ougon Densetsu we have in the library. All I know about the show is that it does this frugal living challenge and that it's hosted by Cocorico. Like the other recommendations so far, this is also very accessible—show it to your mom or your coworkers or something.
Watch Akiyama (love him) and Michishige (apparently a Morning Musume) live for a month in two apartments that share a wall. Electricity and water usage is tracked, along with their spending on groceries You end up with some kind of part weird solo comedy, part insane recipes, part decent homemaking tips type thing.
I love shows where you get to see inside peoples' everyday lives (which is part of why Knight Scoop cannot be beaten), and this is a slightly more theatrical version of that. Following along during grocery shopping and pausing to look up the price they're paying (not to mention the stuff they're paying it for) is a blast.
Akiyama is a machine, I can't believe how funny he's capable of being while he's alone in a room. His physicality, his timing, the songs he sings, it all hits me just right and he's not even playing off someone else.
For all its other charms, this is very food-forward, so if you're like me and easily influenced into being hungry watching these shows . . . here there be crazy croquettes and meatballs and stuff.
