Sry for about her name

I got some messages about her name options are offensive one. I didnt understand about that names at all because my luck of study. Perhaps someone had pointed it out to me in a comment...?, but I didn't notice it. I'll be more careful that doesn't happen again in the future.

Thanks Hibobo. >If not for today's social climate, But In other words, I was unaware of the social situation. I want to be able to be aware of other people, including those things... I want to be able to do it even more so, especially since I am drawing a character that personifies a country! ;D

Ohasi

I think you were fine. I know I talked to you on Twitter about this but just to say it again, I don't think the names were offensive. As an African American myself, none of the names bothered me at all. A lot of black people's favorite character in anime is literally named "Afro Samurai". If not for today's social climate, I don't think people would be so sensitive about it

Hibari

Thanks! yeh, This is also a study. At least I got a little more smart than before :> Failures are bound to occur with things we are not used to, but I gonna learn one thing at a time!

Ohasi

No worries dude! You shouldn't be expected to just inherently understand that something not in your native language is offensive. Now you know a little bit more about English!

EnormousTortoise

Yeah! I'm happy to support an artist who's so considerate :)

Rando

> you weren't trying to offend anyone. Well, I myself would be sad if someone said something I didn't like, even if they didn't mean it ;D I'll be more careful in the future. And if you notice it too, I'd be happy to point it out. thanks!

Ohasi

Just don't let these people walk all over you if they do it once they'll do it again i just don't want one of my favorite artists being harassed

Vain D.

But it's also true that there were some people hurt.. If I had a little more knowledge, I could have simply avoided using it. ;D well thanks! I gonna care much about it and make more fun with my drawing~!

Ohasi

I'm simply horny man who wants to talk just only about boobs or butts ,not about politics or rights. I'm sure y'all aren't here to talk about this stuff either. In other words, anything that makes someone feel even the slightest bit bad should be thoroughly avoided I think. I gonna care much more from now... Thanks and sry about this time ;D

Ohasi

Nah, Some knowledge is necessary for simple enjoyment. there was no necessity for that name, so simply I had to avoid using it!! I'm just person who wants to draw cute and interesting things, so I'll be more careful in like this things in the future >:(

Ohasi

> it's tied to multiple cultures This is exactly the part I was no study about... I didn't think anything of it and used that ;D Thanks that info! I gonna take care much more from now! > based on personality yeh, I gonna try to think better name! ;D

Ohasi

>just didn’t realize some things. I wish I could have knowledge well enough to notice a little more. well I gonna keep her name nameless for a while... I wish her name will be decided naturally like PINK ;)

Ohasi

It's not really a simple issue but everyone here knows you weren't trying to offend anyone. It's great that you're acknowledging it and being understanding. We love ya, Ohasi 😘

Rando

>I do think some of the options were in poor taste. Thanks, The problem is that I had absolutely no idea about them! I used it almost without question.. >English isn't your first language Well, this is no excuse as long as Im drawing in an English-speaking country ;D >Appreciate that you acknowledge the issue I'm not drawing simply to do this kind of thing. I want people to simply enjoy looking at the pictures without difficult. To that end, it seems I need a little more study about it ;)

Ohasi

I gonna avoid all of these possibilities, even if only a little ;D And I'm not drawing a picture to talk about these things... anyway thanks your opinion!

Ohasi

There's nothing really wrong with the name, it's just people being sensitive when they feel like it, especially Twitter. For example, not many cared when afro samurai was named afro

James Edmund Luchs

Well, There are a lot of different people on twitter. That is ;)

Ohasi

👍👍👍

Ohasi

But for real, either way people perceive the subject, thank you for being such a compassionate and understanding artist. Nobody is in the right all the time and it’s big to be able to understand where other people are coming from.

Tommy got a tummy full of murder wasps Hoey

Don't apologize for something ya didn't do wrong, your intentions were pure at heart and obviously its not meant to be offensive. You created and amazing character and openly made a fun choice of names, if people can't get that or they get offended is their own fault for been close minded

Din Triguez

Some people have said it here and it's just that you would want to name a character for more than one trait they have. Afro has a deeper meaning beyond the hairstyle because it's tied to multiple cultures. "Afro-Carribbean, Afro-Latino, etc". I guess naming her based on personality would be better than just describing her physical traits.

Lynarto

I don’t think anyone thought you did anything wrong, but just didn’t realize some things. I love the art and I like Coco as a name

Ashley Minor

Ok well clearly you're going to get a lot of people talking about others being too "sensitive" or "triggered" and the like, but for what it's worth, I do think some of the options were in poor taste. Afro is not great, and "Choco" is worse. I understand that you wanted to go for a simple name that used some of her defining features, like "Pink", but Afro isn't really a conceivable name, and she doesn't even have an afro. And referring to black people as "chocolate" has pretty troubling connotation and history in parts of the world. Coco I imagine comes from a similar place, but that's at least a real name people have, so from your options that'd probably be best? And of course, we understand English isn't your first language, so don't take any criticism to heart. Appreciate that you acknowledge the issue in the first place.

John Kholi

Don't listen to Twitter they just want to harass people over nothing afro matches with every other characters name and is entirely harmless

Vain D.

Don't believe the gringos on twitter

We love you Ohasi!
