Son of The Savage Chapter 62: Another Candidate Appears.

Chapter 62: Another Candidate Appears.

(General P.O.V)

-Space Sector 666-

-Green Lantern Outpost-

Within an asteroid belt, hidden inside a nondescript boulder indistinguishable from the rest, the Green Lantern of Sector 666 was abruptly awakened from her nap by a blaring alarm.

She sat up in a panic, her blue-scaled face contorted in horror as she turned to the large screen in front of her.

"L-Lantern Seran to HQ! We have a big problem! Emperor Frieza is on the move. His current trajectory... Space Sector 2814!"

She relayed the urgent information.

-Green Lantern Corps HQ-

"The Galactic Warlord Frieza belongs to the Frost Demon Race, a species on the verge of extinction, yet they possess power rivaling the Green Lantern Corps."

"Five hundred years ago, King Cold annihilated an entire squadron of Green Lanterns before the Guardians of the Universe intervened. After a protracted battle that obliterated an entire star system, King Cold was imprisoned in a dimensional prison. To prevent further hostilities, the Guardians signed a truce with King Cold's heir, Cooler. This treaty of non-aggression ensures both parties stay out of each other's way. The Green Lantern Corps does not interfere with Space Sector 666, and in return, the PTO conducts their business elsewhere. So you understand, Lantern Stewart, why the Corps will remain on standby and not confront Frieza. We cannot afford to be the ones to break the treaty with the Frost Demons."

The Guardian, surrounded by his peers, explained to John Stewart, who stood before the council members.

John clenched his fists, his teeth grinding in frustration.

"That's ridiculous! By the time we wait for Frieza to break the treaty, Earth may already be destroyed! Or worse, sold off to some evil galactic bastard! He's already headed there!"

John shouted, losing his temper as his Green Aura flared up.

His feet left the ground in preparation to fly away,

"If you won't help, then excuse me, for I have a duty to uphold."

"And in the process, start a universal war."

A Guardian with a scar on his face interjected, halting the former Soldier in his tracks.

"This goes beyond your selfishness, Lantern. Your duty is to the universe, not a backwater world in the outskirts of the galaxy."

"What did you just say?"

John snarled, turning around, his body trembling with anger as he glared at the Guardian, Scar.

"Great."

Kilowog muttered, stiffening behind John, ready to intervene and stop him incase he did something reckless.

Before things could escalate, Ganthet spoke up,

"Calm yourself, John. Please exercise patience with Guardian Scar. The Council will ensure he is punished for his unacceptable conduct."

Scar actually trembled under the stern look Ganthet directed his way. Moving on, Ganthet addressed the irate Lantern,

"Things may not be as dire as you believe. You just need to wait."

Ganthet's good relationship with John was the only reason Stewart backed down from tearing apart Scar.

The latter then raised his hand, showing them his Lantern ring,

"When I accepted this, it was with the promise of standing up for what's right. Now my home is in danger and you expect me to wait..."

His body levitated into the air.

"Fine, Ganthet, I'll wait. I'll wait at home for Frieza."

And with that he flew off, leaving the fact he would not abide by the treaty and instead fight Frieza, unspoken.

-Watchtower-

"And that's what happened. Estimates put Frieza's arrival in the next 24 hours."

John informed the League, his interaction with the Guardians displayed on a hologram feed above his ring.

"Well... damn."

Batman cursed, surprising everyone present.

Superman cleared his throat,

"What I think Batman is trying to say is..."

"We're screwed."

Shazam sighed, head lain on the table,

"Wisdom of Solomon says so."

"This is not what I was expecting."

Stewart cut in, eyeing the rest of the League.

"I was hoping for a plan. You know, one to save our planet."

"And from the data you have given us, I calculate a 10% chance of success. There is little we can logically do against an army of planet busters with the time we have. Even our biggest hitters, Superman, Manhunter and Shazam would at most tie against an entire Squad of Green Lanterns. One Frost Demon alone annihilated the whole squad. And we can assume this Frieza is even stronger given the Guardian's hesitation to fight. We're not only outnumbered, we're outmatched."

Batman bluntly explained.

There was an expectant pause.

"And?"

Superman prompted,

"You have a plan, right? You always have one."

Batman looked him dead in the eye.

"We need help to even the scales. I propose we get in touch with Angel Savage."

"Imposter!!"

The Flash immediately accused, finger pointed at the Dark Knight.

(Angel's P.O.V)

-Evil Lair-

"Everyone is here. Let's begin."

I stated, rising to my feet after Ivo arrived through a Boomtube. The tall golden figure of Amazo 3 standing behind him was reassuring.

The android was the strongest thing in the room. Equal in power to my Red Angel form. And given it's potential to copy and adapt, it might be more powerful than I was.

"As of 10 hours ago, the KingsGuard, Black Widow, Psimon, and Shade went missing. The culprit used Waller's Suicide Squad to sneak into the Mansion with the help of this idiot."

I motioned towards Klarion, who shrunk into his chair under the stares he received.

"Traitors must die."

Shiva spoke with a menacing tone, the glimmer of her blade shining onto Klarion's neck. The Chaos Lord yelped in fear.

"Enough, Shiva."

I growled. No one was killing Klarion except for me.

"Despite how unbelievably stupid betraying me was, he had his reasons. Ones I don't have time to explain."

With a tongue click, Shiva ceased glaring at him and turned to me, her expression changing to one of respect,

"What are your orders, Demon Head? Say it and the Shadows will move at your discretion."

I eyed everyone seated at the table. With the bones of my organization either dead or, if I believed the Traitorous Chaos Lord, held captive, the ones at the table were all I had.

On the left was Lady Shiva, representing Savage Security.

Next to her was a recent acquisition, Wotan, an immortal Viking sorcerer, and someone I had put in charge of the fledgling magical branch of Spider's Web.

Beside Wotan was Bane, whom I had promoted to the second in command of Spider's Web at the request of Black Widow. Turns out the Santa Priscan was smart as hell. No surprise for the man who broke the Bat.

And lastly, Professor Ivo, who hadn't changed in all these years, still the same mad genius obsessed with creating the perfect lifeform. He was the brains of my entire empire.

That was the body structure of my Villain Organization. Ivo made my ideas into reality, Spider's Web was the flesh knitting everything together, Savage Security was the skin protecting the insides and the KingsGuard was the skeleton, supporting my entire weight.

As for me?...well, I was the whole damn body. But now I was one with broken bones.

"First, I want a 24-hour security detail on my sister. Wotan, I need you to lay down the strongest magical defense you have on the Mansion."

I gave the first order.

"That will be expensive, Mr. Savage. I will need powerful mystic anchors."

The sorcerer replied.

"Will Atlantean rubies do?"

A section of the table, molded with nanites, raised before him, forming into a black briefcase that opened up to reveal a collection of magic-infused precious stones.

He nodded, impressed, his gaze fixated on the rubies.

"Such purity."

He picked one up, the blue ruby glinting in the light as he eyed it.

Satisfied, he turned my way, curiosity apparent in his gaze,

"These will more than suffice. Atlantis protects their mystic resources unlike any other. How were you able to acquire them?"

"I have a friend."

If The KingsGuard were the bones, Spider's Web the flesh, then Candie was the Heart. I owed Orm for helping me protect her. When the time came to claim his throne from his brother Aquaman, I would be by his side.

My eyes landed on Bane next, who wore a BlackNite Ensemble similar to his outfit-only missing the Venom tubes.

He was completely cured of his addiction. There was no need for the enhancing steroid when the BlackNite suits offered greater power with no side effects.

"With Widow missing, I need you to keep the spy network running. No one can know we've been attacked. And if anything important comes up, relay it to Shiva."

Bane grunted in acceptance, his eyes holding immense rage. Him and Nat were close.

Good, Spider's Web was in competent hands.

That left Ivo.

"Professor, you'll be on standby with your most powerful toys and gadgets."

My eyes meaningfully trailed across Amazo 3,

"We'll be dealing with a Chaos Lord, so I might need some quick and heavy backup."

Ivo sat up straight, his face ruddy with anger.

"These bunch of clowns made me leave my lab. My delicate work...incomplete. I hope you make them suffer for it."

Good to know I could always count on him whenever his work was disrupted.

"Now for the plan itself. The first priority is finding where they are keeping The KingsGuard. Klarion will portal me to Princess Snake's realm—"

Boom!

The entire mansion trembled.

"What now?"

A snort of frustration escaped Goku, standing behind me.

(General P.O.V)

The red portal manifested in front of Angel's mansion, depositing him and Klarion on the yard.

Lady Shiva, Goku and Frost( she had been accompanying Goku when he called him) filed out after them before the portal closed.

The rest had left to carry out their given duties.

"The barrier is breaking down."

Goku noted, cracks spreading across the surface of the forcefield around the compound.

This puzzled Angel, who had redirected 80% of the mansion's power grid to the forcefield after the recent home invasion.

It was now upgraded to withstand a hundredfold the amount of e.m.p that took it down before, as well as negate immense amounts of physical pressure.

"The only thing that can get through is very, very powerful magic."

Angel mused aloud. Wotan was yet to set up the defense against mystical attacks, so it made sense.

"But If it was magic, Klarion would have warned us the instant whoever it was appeared."

Shiva immediately suspected betrayal and unsheathed her weapon, her eyes narrowing at Klarion,

"You traitorous snake. This is your doing, isn't it?"

Targeted by Shiva's killing intent, the Chaos Lord raised his hands in surrender,

"I didn't sense anyone, I swear on Teekl's life!"

"Stand down Shiva. This is not the time."

Angel intervened in the squabble just as the barrier shattered completely.

On the other side, two figures appeared. One was familiar to Angel: Black Adam levitating in the air and below him, a large blue crystal Golem with a blonde-haired young girl sitting on it's shoulders.

"Fuck. Not her... anyone but that crazy bitch..."

Klarion cursed upon seeing the girl.

He began backing away in fear. Even Teekl's fur stood on end, the cat immediately jumping off his shoulders and transforming into its tiger form to stand protectively before the Witchboy.

"Okay, I know Black Adam, but who's the girl that got the Chaos Lord shaking like a leaf?"

Frost asked.

"Child. Another Chaos Lord."

Angel answered calmly.

Thanks to Klarion telling him everything about the other Chaos Lords, he recognized her by description,

"And I'm guessing Black Adam is her chosen Chaos Lord Candidate."

Of course Flash thought Batsy was an imposter

Ahmed

Yes. But not Frieza exactly, rather one of his Ancestors.

Saintbarbido

Wait, was Frieza the cause of the Massacre of Sector 666 instead of the Manhunters in this universe?

Omnax

Thanks.

Saintbarbido

Great chapter. Feel better soon!
